Emperador Properties acquires mixed-use Caleido complex in Madrid
Billionaire Andrew Tan's real estate investment firm Emperador Properties, listed on the Spanish stock exchange, has acquired full ownership of mixed-use urban complex Caleido in the Cinco Torres Business District in Madrid, Spain.
Covering a total area of 138,000 square meters, Caleido attracted over 5 million visits in 2024. It is home to the IE university, ranked as one of the top 10 universities across the globe with some 5,000 students, along with 35,000 square meters of parks, gardens, and green open spaces.
It houses some 20,000 employees within the Cinco Torres District and 8,000 employees at the La Paz University Hospital.
Caleido's commercial tenants include brands such as Scalpers, Ecoalf, Mango La Máquina, Ornella, and The Dalmore, among others.
'Caleido was conceived with a clear objective—to create an attractive, accessible, sustainable, and comfortable urban environment that allows the revitalization of the northern area of Madrid through a unique concept,' Emperador Properties chief executive officer Jorge Domecq said in an emailed statement.
The latest acquisition will boost Emperador Properties' total assets, which are currently valued at over €1 billion and include the 57-storey Torre Emperador Castellana in Madrid and the 23-storey Torre Diagonal One in Barcelona. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA Integrated News
