Familiar faces make visit to Seahawks OTAs
OTAs represent a great opportunity for old coaches and familiar faces to visit previous stomping grounds. The Seattle Seahawks hosted a pair of intriguing retired coaches on visits at Thursday's OTA practice. Gary Kubiak and Jim Zorn were both in attendance, according to photos captured by Bob Condotta.
The legendary Kubiak officially retired from coaching in 2021 after 29 successful years in the profession. He never coached for the Seahawks, but his son Klint Kubiak is the team's new offensive coordinator and play-caller. The elder Kubiak was likely checking in with how his son is acclimating to his new surroundings.

The Kubiak's coached together with the Denver Broncos in 2016. They reunited with the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 for two seasons (through 2020). Klint Kubiak has since flourished, climbing the coaching ladder before landing in Seattle as OC earlier this offseason.
The 72-year-old Zorn was a star quarterback for the Seahawks from 1976 to 1984, establishing a legendary connection with franchise legend Steve Largent. Zorn was inducted into the team's Ring of Honor in 1991. He later had two separate coaching stints with the Seahawks, first as an offensive assistant in 1997, and then as quarterbacks coach from 2001 to 2007.

Seahawks news: Hall of Fame mascot, make-or-break player and more for Cardinals fans
A look at what has been going on with the Cardinals' NFC West rival Seahawks. We have made it through another week in the NFL offseason, and that means we will check in with the Arizona Cardinals' NFC West rivals. What is new with the LA Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks? Here are a few stories about the Seahawks from the last week that Cardinals fans should know. Blitz into Mascot Hall of Fame This hasn't happened yet for the Cardinals' Big Red, but Seattle's mascot, Blitz, was inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame. I personally didn't know that it existed, but it makes sense. Make-or-break player Some people call 2025 the make-or-break year for Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. For the Seahawks, that player is tackle Abe Lucas, who has played well when he has been in the lineup. His issue has been a nagging knee injury. The longest shots of the division The Seahawks have the longest odds to win the NFC West in 2025, behind even the Cardinals. Day 3 draft pick could be X-factor Running back Ken Walker has struggled with his health, as seems to always be the case for Seahawks running backs. If that is the case again, Justin Melo thinks that seventh-round pick Damien Martinez could end up being a potential needed contributor in 2025. Former Cardinals draft pick as potential swing tackle The Cardinals draft tackle Josh Jones in the third round in 2020 and traded him to the Houston Texans in 2023. He played for the Baltimore Ravens last season and signed with Seattle this offseason. Because of the health concerns of right tackle Abe Lucas, Jones could end up playing. Teammate says Bo Nix's ‘dawg mentality' has been apparent this offseason
Bo Nix has that dawg in him. Going into his second season as the Denver Broncos' starting quarterback, Nix has clearly grown into his role as a leader, and he's been fiery at practice, chirping back and forth with the team's defensive backs. 'I love that," safety Brandon Jones said on June 10. "I never wanted to be somewhere where a quarterback is kind of shy or to himself. I think if a quarterback can show that 'dawg' mentality, that goes a long ways for me and it keeps us battling. It keeps the competition super healthy and very competitive. I've liked what I've seen from him in that standpoint.' Nix, 25, was invited to the Pro Bowl as an alternate last season after surpassing 4,200 yards from scrimmage and scoring 34 touchdowns. He is now more comfortable going into Year 2, and it's noticeable on and off the field. 'I have, and I've seen his overall comfort level on the field," Jones said when asked if he's seen Nix step into more of a leadership role this year. "You can see he's doing a really good job of trying to diagnose the defense, which goes a super long way especially as a quarterback. "A lot of young quarterbacks kind of struggle with that early on. He's done a really good job of dissecting the defense, and figuring out what we are playing and making the right checks that he needs to make. He's definitely made a lot of strides.' All signs point to Nix taking another step forward in 2025 after an impressive rookie campaign in 2024. Denver's offense appears to be in good hands. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Sean Payton jokes about RJ Harvey's quest for 'Joker wings'
Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton made it no secret this spring that he was going into the offseason seeking at least one "Joker" for the offense. Payton described that role as a tight end or running back with exceptional receiving skills to create mismatches for the offense. Denver found a free agent tight end who fits the role in Evan Engram. It's to-be-determined if they also landed a "Joker" running back. Advertisement Denver used its second-round pick in the NFL draft to select UCF running back RJ Harvey, who had 20 receptions for 267 yards and three touchdowns with the Knights last fall. Harvey was not used extensively as a receiver out of the backfield in college, but that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't capable of such a role. Still, Payton isn't ready to hand out any special names for Harvey's role just yet. "Good," Payton said when asked how Harvey has looked as a receiver out of the backfield. "He's doing well. We haven't given him his Joker wings or any of that yet, but he's doing well.' We'll get a better idea of Harvey's receiving threat when the pads come on later this summer and the Broncos begin playing preseason games. Payton has previously hinted that Harvey can be a three-down back, which suggests the rookie will have a role in the passing game. How big of a role remains to be seen.
