Chance to take part in Race for Life event in Cardiff
People are being invited to join Cardiff's Race for Life.
The Cancer Research UK events, which raise funds for life-saving research, are returning to the city.
Anyone who joins between Monday, March 17, and Sunday, April 6, can claim 30 per cent off the entry fee as part of a special sale by using the code 30SPRING.
The Race for Life events take place at Coopers Field, Bute Park, Cardiff, and are open to all ages and abilities.
On Saturday, May 3, there is a chance to take part in Pretty Muddy, a 5k mud-splattered obstacle course, and there's a Pretty Muddy Kids option for children aged six to 12.
And on Sunday, May 4, people can choose from 3k, 5k, and 10k events.
Sam Morris, Cancer Research UK's spokesperson in Cardiff, said: "No matter how cancer affects us, life is worth racing for.
"We'd love for as many people as possible across South Wales to join us at Race for Life.
"There is an event for everyone and we mean everyone.
"Our events are strictly non-competitive which means everyone can have a go and love every minute.
"There's no pressure to finish in a certain time, just give it what you can."

'I'm playing golf in a wedding dress for charity'
A man will wear a wedding dress for part of a 24-hour charity golf challenge. Ollie Spry is taking part in a golf session to raise money for Cancer Research UK Jersey. While the wedding dress is just one of the "ridiculous outfits" Mr Spry plans to wear, it will not be the only unconventional thing he does on the course at La Moye Golf Club. He also plans to hit the ball with a variety of unusual objects, including a croquet mallet and a frying pan. He said: "I just thought it was a bit of a laugh and to raise as much awareness as possible." Mr Spry said: "Obviously its quite a showstopper for people walking by in the middle of the High Street." He said the outfit had helped raise awareness for the charity, with people stopping to ask: "You look ridiculous why are you wearing that?" Mr Spry, who has been training by going on some "long walks", has raised more than £2,000 so far and hopes to reach £5,000. "There are so many amazing charities here in Jersey," he said. "The community here in Jersey is incredible - everyone comes together, everyone tries to support as many charities as possible. "I'm just proud to try and raise as much awareness as possible." Tennis coach completes 24-hour charity marathon on court in Essex
A TENNIS coach has completed a 24-hour charity marathon on the court in Essex. Tom Littlewood, coach at Earls Colne Tennis Club and TennisLessons4U, raised more than £5,000 through the round-the-clock challenge, which began at 10am on Saturday and concluded at 10am on Sunday. The funds will support Cancer Research UK and the club's campaign to resurface its courts. The marathon was held in memory of David Birks, a coach at Earls Colne Tennis Club who died in 2018 after a battle with cancer. Mr Littlewood, who was coached by Mr Birks, dedicated the event to his memory. He said: "David was a mentor to me and to so many in the local tennis community. The challenge began at 10am on Saturday and concluded at 10am on Sunday (Image: Thomas Littlewood) "This weekend was a chance not only to raise money for two important causes but also to remember someone who gave so much to our club and to the sport." The 24-hour event featured a full schedule of activities for all ages and abilities. The day began with a children's rallyathon, encouraging juniors to keep the ball in play for as long as possible. Finlay Cowan won the Longest Rally Competition with an impressive 70-shot rally. Juniors also contributed to the fundraising efforts. Eighteen adult players competed in a Davis Cup-style doubles tournament in the afternoon. More than 60 guests attended a quiz night, followed by a midnight social. The marathon concluded with an exhibition singles match between Mr Littlewood and Jack Evers. A cake sale run by volunteers also contributed to the fundraising total. The £60,000 resurfacing project is vital to ensuring the club can continue to provide a safe and high-quality facility for the community. "From the kids to the adults, the volunteers, and everyone who donated — it really shows what community spirit is all about." Kylie Minogue and Richard E Grant have sent 'love' to Australian comedian Magda Szubanski, following her announcement that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 blood cancer. The Liverpool-born actress, 64, known for her work on family films Happy Feet and Babe and their sequels, is 'hopeful' that a new treatment will help her get through the illness. The Melbourne resident posted on Instagram on Thursday, describing her stage four mantle cell lymphoma as a 'rare and fast-moving blood cancer'. Under the post, Australian singer and former Neighbours actress Minogue, who has previously spoken about going through breast cancer decades ago, wrote: 'Sending all love' along with heart emojis. The charity said that a common treatment is the chemoimmunotherapy combinations, known as the Nordic protocol, which sees the patient have drugs on certain days. Szubanski received international acclaim for her role as the farmer's wife, Esme Hoggett, in the 1995 movie, Babe, which was nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning one for visual effects. She played sports-loving Sharon Strzelecki in Australian sitcom Kath And Kim, which inspired an American remake with the same name, and has been in Neighbours, and Oscar-nominated 2024 animated film, Memoir Of A Snail. Szubanski, who voiced the role of penguin teacher Miss Viola in the animated films Happy Feet in 2006 and Happy Feet Two in 2011, moved to Melbourne with her family in 1966 from the UK.
