CRISTIAN ROMERO showed his true colours after full-time of the Europa League final.
The Tottenham Hotspur star impressed as his side ended their 17-year trophy drought against Manchester United in Bilbao.

Luke Shaw's own goal was enough for the North London outfit to salvage some joy from a miserable season.
Like Spurs, Manchester United have endured a torrid season, which has seen Erik ten Hag sacked and a bottom-half finish in the Premier League confirmed.
The emotion was clear after the full-time whistle as the Red Devils collapsed to the ground after losing their last chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Romero, 27, made sure to show his true colours as he went around the entire Man United team to console the players.

He was pictured holding compatriot Alejandro Garnacho and speaking to Diogo Dalot.
The Argentine is often vilified after some of his antics in the Premier League.
But after seeing his sportsmanship on the San Mamés pitch, fans hailed the defender on social media.
One posted: "Romero, so often cast as the villain, is the first Spurs player to break away from celebrations and go to console United players."

Maguire pushed him away from the Man United end
A video taken from the stands caught the moment that Romero consoled Andre Onana.
The goalkeeper was slumped on the floor as he was approached by the Tottenham ace who checked up on him.
He did try to shake hands with Harry Maguire, but the Man United star refused.
Maguire then followed Romero and pushed him away from his team-mates.
As Romero tried talking to Dalot, Maguire could be seen telling him to go away as they were seperated by secruity.
Romero was not the only member of Tottenham to console the Man United players.
Manager Ange Postecoglou showed his class as he spoke to Leny Yoro and Bruno Fernandes.

Victor Osimhen is on Manchester United's radar but he previously rejected the prospect of a move to Old Trafford due to having too much respect for one of their strikers Victor Osimhen has previously rejected a move to Manchester United out of respect for one of his compatriots as he claimed he had "too much respect" to battle with him for a starting berth. That was way back in 2020, just before he joined Napoli. It was during his stint with Lille that Osimhen first put himself on the map and his goalscoring exploits made a number of clubs stand up and take note. United were among them, but the Italian side eventually won the race. ‌ Osimhen's refusal to join the Premier League side stemmed from the fact they then had Odion Ighalo on their books. That said, he was one of the senior Nigerian players of his generation and Osimhen had great respect for the player who was nine years his senior. The Napoli frontman felt he couldn't compete with his fellow countryman for a starting spot knowing that ultimately one of them would lose out, which motivated his move to Italy. Osimhen's brother, Andrew, told Complete Sports: "It is very true that Manchester United wanted Victor, but he told me something like he had too much respect for Odion Ighalo to be competing for shirts with his senior colleague. My brother holds Ighalo in high esteem and he just didn't see himself going to Old Trafford to battle for a striking role with the highest goalscorer at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt." Fast forward five years and Osimhen heading to Manchester could yet materialise. Despite firing Napoli to the Serie A title several years ago the striker is now surplus to requirements whilst Antonio Conte remains at the helm. He has bought in Romelu Lukaku and backed the Belgian as his leading light in attack. It forced Osimhen to head out on loan last term but he continued to be prolific whilst at Galatasaray. Now back in Italy, he is likely to be sold once a buyer can be found. ‌ Already this summer he has turned down a move to Saudi Arabia, underlining his desire to stay in Europe and ex-United star Rio Ferdinand is among those to endorse a move for the Nigerian. He said: "I think if I'm looking at the market now and I had to pick him (Viktor Gyokeres) or Osimhen, I'd probably pick Osimhen because of that experience." 'Angry' Nicolas Jackson issues grovelling apology after second red card in five games as Chelsea team-mate says 'he needs to improve'

Nicolas Jackson has apologised to Chelsea supporters and admitted he is 'so angry' at himself after picking up a second red card in just over a month. The 24-year-old striker, already suspended domestically following his Premier League dismissal at Newcastle on May 11, lasted only four minutes on the pitch in Philadelphia during Friday's 3-1 defeat by Flamengo at the FIFA Club World Cup. He was shown a straight red card for raking his studs down the shin of Ayrton Lucas — just moments after coming off the bench. It capped a night to forget for Chelsea, who had led early on through Pedro Neto's second goal of the tournament but conceded twice in quick succession to Bruno Henrique and Danilo shortly before Jackson's dismissal. Wallace Yan later wrapped up the victory for Flamengo, leaving Chelsea with work to do going into their final group game against ES Tunis. However, results elsewhere in Group D mean that a draw against the Tunisian side would be enough to see the Blues progress to the round of 16. Jackson took to Instagram after the match to issue a grovelling apology. 'I want to say sorry. To the club, the staff, my teammates, and all the fans watching, I let you down,' he wrote. 'Another red card and honestly, I'm so angry at myself. I work hard every day to help the team not to put us in this kind of situation. 'I still don't fully understand how it happened. But one thing is clear: it wasn't intentional. Just a football moment that went the wrong way. No excuses. I take full responsibility. Chelsea team-mate Marc Cucurella, speaking after the game, described the foul as 'a bit of bad luck' — but admitted Jackson needs to show more maturity. 'He tried to put his foot in to kick the ball but he kicked the player's leg. That's it. We now miss him for the next game,' said the Spaniard. 'He is a young player with a lot of quality and maybe he needs to improve this.' Cucurella also revealed Jackson stood up in the dressing room to apologise to the group, and insisted the forward remains a 'very important player' for Chelsea. Former Blues midfielder John Obi Mikel was less forgiving. Speaking on DAZN, he labelled Jackson's challenge a 'stupid, stupid, stupid mistake'. 'I don't know what's going through his head. You come into the game, you're 2-1 down, your team needs you, and you do that,' said Mikel. 'He did it in the important Premier League game against Newcastle, when we needed to win to qualify for the Champions League places, and he's done it again. 'You can't keep making mistakes.' And if you are a centre-forward for Rangers you have got to score against Celtic. 'You have got to score important goals and Adam Idah has done that.'
