Donnarumma issues update on PSG future as Man Utd lurk after private talks

Manchester United had been eyeing a summer move for Gianluigi Donnarumma, with the Italian keeper entering the final year of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain Gianluigi Donnarumma is confident he will sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain as he confirmed his agent remains locked in talks with the French champions. Donnarumma arrived at the Parc des Princes in 2021. He has enjoyed a highly-successful spell in the French capital since then, winning 10 major trophies. The Italian was a key member of the team which won the treble this season, storming to the Ligue 1 title, beating Reims in the Coupe de France final and smashing Inter Milan in the Champions League final. ‌ Despite his importance to Luis Enrique's side and his standing as one of the world's top keepers, the 26-year-old's contract is set to expire next summer. That has led to growing uncertainty over his future in the French capital. ‌ That uncertainty has attracted the eye of a number of suitors, including Manchester United. The Red Devils are looking for a new keeper this summer following the abject performance of Andre Onana. Onana kept just nine clean sheets in the Premier League last season, frequently drawing criticism. Donnarumma emerged as a potential replacement for the Cameroon international earlier this summer. But in a fresh blow to United boss Ruben Amorim, Donnarumma has confirmed that talks are progressing. He also insisted that he had full faith in his agent to get a deal done while he focused on the Club World Cup. "Yes, we are moving forward. My agent is talking to the club. I am focused on the match and the trophy, but we have no problems," he said ahead of PSG's clash with Botafogo. "I always give 100 percent for this club and the supporters, it's a club that has given me everything, playing for PSG is incredible. The Club World Cup is a very important competition for us. ‌ "We must continue to remain 100 per cent focused to reach the final and the trophy. Everyone is hungry for victories, to win titles; it's important for now and for next year.' The chance to sign Donnarumma would be too good to turn down for United. The Italian was player of the tournament as his country won Euro 2020, just before his move to PSG. According L'Equipe, he keeper has already had private talks with his international team-mates about a potential move to the Premier League. But earlier this month, Donnarumma made it clear he wanted to remain in Paris. "My priority is to stay at PSG, I don't think there will be any problems in the negotiations," he told Sky Sports Italia after Italy beat Moldova in a World Cup qualifier. "We're a great team." Rubem Amorim 'set to banish FOUR Man United outcasts' from pre-season tour as he prepares for Old Trafford rebuild

Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho will reportedly all be exiled from Manchester United 's pre-season tour of the US. The outcasts will be made to train alone at Carrington if they haven't found new sides when the tour begins in July as Ruben Amorim looks to exert his authority at the club. The Portuguese boss endured a dreadful first campaign at Old Trafford, leading United to a 15th place finish in the Premier League, their lowest since relegation in 1974. They were also beaten by Tottenham in the Europa League final in Bilbao last month, meaning they won't be competing in European competition next season for just the second time in 35 years. The campaign was capped by a disastrous post-season tour to Asia which saw the Red Devils humiliatingly lose to exhibition side ASEAN All-Stars, while Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo came under pressure for altercations with fans. A summer rebuild has began with United sealing a £62.5million deal for Matheus Cunha earlier this month, while they are heavily linked with Brentford 's Bryan Mbeumo. Amorim only wants players who will 'die for the shirt', and is therefore set to axe the castaway quartet. A club source told The Sun: 'Amorim is stamping his authority on the club. It was hard arriving mid-season but he now has the opportunity to shape the team in his image. And he's wasting no time. 'He only wants players who would die for the shirt and are on board with his ideas. 'He also wants a smaller squad to create an intimate team bond so that everyone gets enough game time to be at peak fitness when called upon. He doesn't want any bad apples or distractions.' United's US tour begins against West Ham in New Jersey on July 26 less than two months after their post-season tour to Malaysia and Hong Kong concluded. They then play Bournemouth in Chicago on July 30, before taking on Everton in Atlanta four days later. Amorim's side face Arsenal in the opening weekend of the season and he will hope his squad has drastically improved by then. While he has been assured there are funds available to bolster United, the transfer budget will be increased if they can offload Rashford, Garnacho, Antony or Sancho. They have moved quick to bolster their squad and already completed a £62.5m deal for Cunha Sancho has reportedly agreed personal terms with Napoli but United have slapped a €25m (£21.3m) transfer fee on the 25-year-old, which is said to be too much for the Italian champions. Meanwhile, Newcastle are eyeing-up a shock move for Rashford, who has been exiled at Old Trafford after being loaned to Aston Villa for the second half of last season. Garnacho is set to leave Old Trafford after a public spat with boss Amorim over being benched for the Europa League final.

Ruben Amorim to banish Rashford, Garnacho, Antony and Sancho from Man Utd's US tour – if he hasn't sold outcasts already

RUBEN AMORIM is set to axe Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho from Manchester United's pre-season tour of the USA. The Portuguese boss is determined to take a hardline stance with the four outcasts whose days at Old Trafford are numbered. 3 3 3 And if the out-of-favour quartet have not found a new club by the time the squad jet off for the States in July they will be left behind to train alone at Carrington. A club source said: ' Amorim is stamping his authority on the club. He doesn't want any bad apples or distractions.' Amorim is under huge pressure to deliver after a disastrous campaign which saw United finish 15th - their worst since they were relegated in the 1973-74 season. The Red Devils also lost the Europa League final 1-0 to Tottenham. Amorim's rebuilding work has already begun with the £62.5million signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves while United are also chasing Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo. The former Sporting coach has been assured there is cash available to strengthen the side in the coming weeks before facing Arsenal at home in the Prem season opener on August 17 and he had hoped to be reunited with striker Viktor Gyokeres. His transfer kitty could also be bolstered with the sale of Garnacho, Rashford, Antony and Sancho. The attacking players will almost certainly be missing when the Red Devils fly Stateside for a three-match tour. United kick-off in New Jersey against West Ham on July 26 ahead of a trip to Chicago to face Bournemouth four days later before finishing up against Everton in Atlanta on August 3. Garnacho, 20, is already the subject of a £45million move to Napoli but United want £70m for the Argentina international. The Serie A champions have also expressed an interest in Sancho, whose future is in limbo after Chelsea declined to sign the on-loan winger for £25m and opted to pay a £5m penalty to send him back to Old Trafford. Prem rivals Newcastle are said to be eyeing Rashford after Aston Villa did not follow up on his loan spell while Antony had a temporary spell in the second half of last season at Real Betis in Spain.

SunSport revealed talks have begun between the Magpies and Brighton over a £60million deal for the Brazilian forward. That was after the 23-year-old's representatives indicated he wanted to join them and be part of their Champions League push. Toon knew that Chelsea were also keen, but now the Blues could be about to try and launch their own move. Like Newcastle, Blues chiefs are huge admirers of his ability and versatility to play anywhere across the front line. Unlike their Premier League rivals, they are yet to open negotiations with the Seagulls, but they are considering an attempt to land him and bolster Enzo Marseca's squad. Brighton already have Greek attacker Charalampos Kostoulas as replacement. And Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is open to doing business as he raises funds for new manager Thomas Frank. Gyokeres is being looked at by both Arsenal and Manchester United this summer. I had a message 24 hours or so ago suggesting that Viktor Gyokeres has told friends and family he expects to join Arsenal. We know that Manchester United are interested in signing him as well - obviously there is that pre-existing relationship with Ruben Amorim. But Arsenal can offer Champions League football, maybe can offer a tilt at the title next season. Arsenal are juggling both him and Benjamin Sesko, they've opened talks with Leipzig as well. But at the moment, I would say Gyokeres looks the more likely. Alex Crook TalkSPORT Copy link Copied By Nico Williams blow Arsenal have been dealt a massive blow in their bid for Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams. According to transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, Barcelona currently have the best chances of signing Williams this summer. Plettenberg claims Barca are likely to beat the Gunners as well as Bayern Munich and Chelsea. 'Important new negotiations' have taken place between all parties over the past 24 hours. Barcelona president Joan Laporta is now assessing whether a transfer is feasible and if Williams can be registered. Copy link Copied 1 …

Tom Cleverley reveals message from Wayne Rooney after former Man Utd star named new Plymouth Argyle boss

WAYNE ROONEY gave a glowing endorsement of Plymouth Argyle to new boss Tom Cleverley. Former England and Manchester United ace Rooney played alongside Cleverley at Old Trafford and won the 2013 Premier League together, while the pair also played for the Three Lions. 4 4 Cleverley replaces Miron Muslic at the League One club and the 35-year-old says ex- Argyle manager Rooney, who spent seven months at Home Park, gave him the thumbs up to take on the job. The former midfielder, in his second managerial job after being in charge of Watford last season, said: 'I spoke not just with Wayne but other people who I know that have played for or coached at the club. 'He gave the club and the place a glowing reference and he's obviously someone's opinion that I can trust. 'I played with him for many years and I think it's important that I did some references, but most of all is what I see now through my own eyes. 'That will really start on Monday when I get on the pitch with the players and I make my own judgements, but I like to thoroughly research whatever I'm about to dive in to and the references were glowing.' Cleverley is the fifth permanent Argyle manager in the last 18 months and will have a fresh start at the club following relegation from the Championship. Argyle chairman Simon Hallett is looking for new investment, and the club was linked with a takeover that included former Wales captain Gareth Bale among their consortium. But Pilgrims CEO Andrew Parkinson said: 'That was speculation and we're not in a position to talk about individuals or investors. When we have got the opportunity we will do that." BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK 4 Argyle have confirmed their first signing under Cleverley, recruiting former Arsenal starlet Xavier Amaechi. The ex-England youth international, 24, joins on a three-year deal from German side FC Magdeburg. Upon sealing the deal, boss Cleverley said: "Xavier is a quick and exciting winger who will add further competition to our forward options. "He has good European experience having played in Germany, and returns to England a more rounded player, but he is still young and has so much room for growth and development. "He showed a real desire to be a part of Argyle and I am delighted to welcome him to the club." Amaechi is the Devon side's fifth summer signing; with Jamie Paterson, Caleb Watts, Jack Mackenzie and Bradley Ibrahim having joined prior to Cleverley's arrival. 4
