Amy Duggar King Sets Record Straight On Claims About Husband's Health

A day after the 19 Kids & Counting alum shared that her husband Dillion King is battling a rare diaphragmatic rupture, she hit back against claims that she used his ongoing health issues to make money.
'People have got it so wrong,' Amy—who shares son Dax, 5, with Dillion—said on her Instagram Story April 10. 'It is so sad to me how people think that I can stoop so low. And to think that like you've clicked on the link to read what Dillon's diagnosis is, that I get paid. There's absolutely zero money involved.'
Indeed, days after first sharing Dillon was facing a serious medical issue, she spoke candidly about her husband's condition in an interview with People magazine.
'People are just so programed or groomed to think that everything has to do with money and that it's always somebody looking for a handout,' Amy—who wed Dillon in 2015—continued. 'There is not anything like that involved. It's just a story that People magazine put out and I am grateful to that.'

And the 38-year-old reassured her followers that the only thing she has ever asked them for is prayer.
'A lot of people who will read that that will pray for him, that will lift him up. That will encourage his heart. That will help him as far as encouraging words,' she said. 'That is all I'm asking from you guys. Most of my followers support me and are genuine people. And that's who I choose to be. I'm just asking for prayers and nothing else.'
Amy had first asked followers for support in a birthday tribute to Dillon, 37, in which she shared a photo of him in a hospital bed hooked up to IVs.'Normally we'd be celebrating in a huge way but currently we are facing some possible life threatening medical concerns,' Amy wrote April 3. 'Today I'd like to ask for some prayers on his behalf. I know God has him, but we welcome the prayers!! I can't think of a better gift for him.'
Days after revealing Dillion's health journey, Amy shared his exact diagnosis.
'Dillon has been diagnosed with a severe diaphragmatic rupture,' the Counting On star told People in an interview published April. 9. 'an extremely rare and dangerous condition that has caused vital organs, including his kidney and parts of his digestive system, to shift into his chest cavity.'
Adding that her husband's right kidney, colon and small intestine were, 'all displaced.'
But while his recovery journey is full of unknowns, she and Dillion are fighting the battle together.
"The risks are high, the procedures complex, and the recovery uncertain," she said. "We are taking this one moment at a time, clinging to hope, prayer, and the wisdom of the medical teams who are now walking this road with us.'

'Superman''s David Corenswet Recalls ‘Intense' Time He Screen-Tested for the Movie During Wife's Pregnancy (Exclusive)
David Corenswet tells PEOPLE that he and his wife had to keep two big secrets when they found out she was pregnant and he was cast as Superman "We had these two quite huge secrets that we just had between the two of us," he says Corenswet is PEOPLE's latest cover star as the new Superman movie is poised to take flight this summerFor Superman star David Corenswet, 2023 was a busy year: He learned he'd be a father and landed the part of the Man of Steel. In PEOPLE's new cover story, the Philadelphia native, 31, recalls going through the 'intense' time with wife Julia, 34. 'She told me that she was pregnant two days after I found out I was going to screen test for Superman,' says Corenswet. 'For the first several months of her pregnancy, as is sort of protocol, we weren't telling anybody. We had these two quite huge secrets that we just had between the two of us. And that was intense.' 'For a period we had just each other for these two huge things,' continues Corenswet, who says Julia's due date originally coincided with when he was set to start filming in early 2024. 'It was very close. It wasn't direct, but it was still very close. But it was just having to do two big unknown things at the same time. And they were both great things,' he says. The good-natured Corenswet found the lighter side of the situation. 'She gained about 40 pounds while she was pregnant and in the same period I gained about 40 pounds gaining weight for Superman,' he recalls. 'I started snoring and had to use her pregnancy pillow.' The actor says he was at his home, on a break from making the 2024 movie Twisters, when he got the call from Superman director James Gunn telling him he had been cast in the lead role. 'It started with, 'Hey David, it's James Gunn.' And I said, 'Can you prove that?' I guess in the moment before when I saw the unknown 310 number, I thought, 'I'm pretty sure this is James telling me whether or not I got the part, but it could be anybody from Los Angeles who has my number and maybe somebody's going to play a prank on me,' " Corenswet says of the phone call that changed his life. 'Anyway, I think he appreciated that and he said, 'That's a good point. I'm calling to offer you the role of Superman.' And I said, 'Well, you're the only person who could do that, so it must be you,'' Corenswet continues. Now he's hoping he did the role justice. 'I feel much more a sense of responsibility than a sense of accomplishment having done the role. I also know that so much in life and especially the life of an actor is up to chance and good luck, and certainly you get what you make of your situation,' he says. 'I just think of it as a great stroke of luck and I better do everything I can to earn the responsibility,' Corenswet continues. Heather Graham navigates the pressures of staying youthful in Hollywood with ease. Graham shared her secrets with Retreat Magazine about her philosophy when it comes to aging. If you feel good about yourself, no one can take that away from you. Pursue the things that fill you with joy, and surround yourself with loving people,' the 55-year-old actress said. Graham continued, 'I don't drink or do drugs, and I get a lot of sleep. Eating healthy makes me feel good. I like cooking for myself and other people. And I love it when people cook for me. Basically, I like eating! Also, I do affirmations. I think they are very powerful. I work on strengthening my inner loving parent muscle, so I can be supportive and loving to myself. One of my affirmations is: 'This is the best time of my life.'' During an interview with People in April, Graham admitted to being a happier person after she turned 55. 'I feel like as I get older, I just care less about things that don't matter. Everyone gets upset sometimes, but I think that I'm happier. Or if you have any difficult people in your life, it can help you learn how to deal with them better, in a more loving way, and most importantly, to take better care of yourself,' she told Retreat Magazine. During her interview, Graham shared that she is 'ahead of her time' when it comes to embracing her sexuality. 'Nowadays, so many women are enjoying their sexuality, but when I was coming up, there was definitely judgment around that. It's great to watch younger women feel freer to be sexual and not to worry about cultural bias,' she said. 5 Along with her wellness secrets, Graham does not drink or do drugs. She noted that her parents 'were part of a generation that didn't believe in therapy or discussing personal things, so I never felt I could talk to them.' 'When the movie came out, I was 18, living at home had become more difficult,' she said.
