Dominant Marc Marquez claims Italian MotoGP pole
For the sixth time this season, Marc Marquez has claimed pole position and secured his 100th pole position across all Grand Prix classes.

Marc Marquez took pole position for the Italian MotoGP on Saturday as the championship leader attempts to continue his domination of this season at Mugello.
Six-time elite world champion Marc Marquez took his sixth pole of the year with a time of one minute and 44.169 seconds, 0.059sec ahead of rival and Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia.
Italian Bagnaia, who has won the last three races at Mugello, trails Marc Marquez by 93 points after eight Grand Prix weekends.
Marc Marquez will lead the grid for Saturday's sprint race which gets underway at 1500 local time (1300GMT) and has a great chance to extend his 32-point championship lead over his brother Alex Marquez.
The Spanish motorcycling great has won five of this season's eight sprint races and four GPs.
KTM rider Alex Marquez was 0.83sec off the pace and will complete the front row of the grid in third position.

It was 2-0 on 16 minutes via a superb effort, as Andrea Cambiaso went on a piercing run in from the left before laying the ball off for Yildiz to smash in a shot on the half-volley into the top corner. Wydad quickly pulled one back as veteran Nordin Amrabat's fine pass in behind the defence released South African winger Lorch to control and clip a shot past the goalkeeper. Yet Juventus were well on top and Cambiaso hit the post just prior to the hour mark before Randal Kolo Muani somehow failed to turn in Lloyd Kelly's ball across the face of goal. Their third goal did arrive just after the midway point in the second half when France forward Kolo Muani collected possession on the left and then slipped in Yildiz who finished into the corner. It was his third goal at the tournament so far, and his 12th in all competitions since the season began. Orlando Pirates confirm FOUR pre-season games in Spain!
Orlando Pirates are set to return to what is fast becoming their second home in Spain for pre-season next season. Pirates have spent their last three pre-seasons under former coach Jose Riveiro in Spain and will continue with that pattern. Last season Pirates played some top opposition in Spain including Sevilla and Granada of Spain. They then also took on Plymouth of England among others. Now having been enjoying the facilities in the country in the yesteryears, they have decided to return. This time around they will be playing against both fresh and familiar opposition from the previous visits. Taking to their official X account, Pirates confirmed fixtures against English side Bolton Wanderers and Pafos FC of Cyprus. It remains to be seen if Pirates would've appointed their new coach ahead of this tour to Spain.
