Man dies in stabbing at Jacksonville senior living facility, woman detained

A man is dead after he was stabbed multiple times Tuesday at a senior living facility in Jacksonville's Sherwood Forest neighborhood.
The incident occurred at about 2:15 a.m. at Morris Manner Apartments, 9050 Norfolk Blvd. The complex is a living facility for people 62 and older and those with impaired mobility, according to its website.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video that shows the victim, a man between the ages of 70 to 75, exit an apartment, Jacksonville police said at a news conference outside of the complex Tuesday morning.
Police said they believed he was stabbed inside of the unit because after he walked out he collapsed.
Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.
Police said a woman, who's between the ages of 65 to 80, who was inside of the apartment has been detained.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it is searching for a person of interest in a fatal hit-and-run. It happened on the city's Northwest side on Moncrief Road West and Richardson Road Friday night. Sheriff's office officials say a man in his 50s was crossing the street on an electric scooter when he was hit by a Ford truck traveling north. The man was thrown into the southbound lanes from the impact of the crash and was hit again by a white SUV. Antonio Cook lives nearby and said he was not surprised to hear about a crash on the road. He said the area is a busy stretch of road on the weekends. They have a good time, but they're not doing it safely,' Cook said. Over the weekend, JSO released pictures of the white SUV driver, a black man in his 50s, asking for the public's help to identify the man. The sheriff's office says the victim was taken to the hospital, where he died. There is no word yet on the man's identity. Police investigating reported assault in Dayton

Police are investigating reports of an assault in Dayton Saturday morning, a Montgomery County dispatch supervisor confirmed.
