‘Land Of The Lost' Series Reboot In Works At Netflix From Legendary Television
EXCLUSIVE: Netflix is looking to remake another classic TV series. The streamer has closed a deal with Legendary Television for Land of the Lost, a reboot of Sid and Marty Krofft's 1974 sci-fi adventure show, Deadline has learned.
Sid and Marty Krofft as well as Marty's daughter Deanna Krofft Pope, who is COO at their company, will produce the project, which is in very early stages, sources said. Search is underway for a writer. Reps for Netflix and Legendary TV declined comment.

Land of the Lost centers on a father, Rick, and his two children who accidentally go through a portal and find themselves trapped in a world inhabited by dinosaurs, including a Tyrannosaurus rex they nickname Grumpy; primate-like people named Pakuni, one of whom, Cha-Ka, they befriend; and reptilian humanoids called Sleestak.
Land of the Lost originated as a children's series which aired on NBC Saturday mornings for three seasons from 1974 to 1976, with CBS giving it a summer run in 1985 and 1987. In it, Rick was played by Spencer Milligan, with Wesley Eure and Kathy Coleman as his kids, Will and Holly, respectively. Stop-motion animation was used for some of the creatures.
Despite its relatively short run, Land of the Lost achieved cult status, keeping the title relevant. That led to a 1991 series remake, which aired for two seasons on ABC, and a 2009 feature film starring Will Ferrell. Sid and Marty Krofft produced both.
While it does not have the extensive library traditional TV studios do, Netflix has taken on a few classic series titles. The streamer is currently filming a new Little House On the Prairie and previously rebooted Lost In Space and One Day At a Time.
Legendary Television's current slate includes Dune: Prophecy at HBO, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters at Apple TV+ and the animated Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft at Netflix as well as Tomb Raider and Pacific Rim live-action series and an adaptation of Girls and Their Horses with Nicole Kidman — all in development at Amazon.

Astroworld is back in the spotlight and survivors are sharing haunting stories on TikTok
Astroworld is back in the news, and social media has some thoughts. In November 2021, a deadly crowd surge at Travis Scott's Astroworld music festival claimed the lives of 10 people. The then-annual event, held in the rapper's hometown of Houston, became one of the worst concert tragedies in U.S. history. It is now the subject of the new Netflix documentary Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy. With renewed interest in the incident, survivors have taken to social media to share their own footage from the event. 'Only if I knew bro,' one attendee posted on TikTok over footage of himself in the crowd. The audio accompanying the clip is taken from the documentary: 'It started getting pretty hectic,' one survivor says. 'I'm like 'Oh my god I can't take a deep breath,'' adds another. 'Since everyone else is sharing their Astroworld experience,' another TikTok user wrote in the caption of a clip, which shows him tightly packed in the crowd as Scott performs. 'Not too long after this I got bumped into due to the crowd swaying and ended up falling on top of someone in the fetal position,' he wrote. 'We ended up getting out but man it was a struggle.' In other horrifying footage, the panicking audience can be heard calling for help. 'I've never posted this video before, rest in peace to all innocent lives lost,' the closed captions read over the video. Even before Scott took the stage, the crowd seemed to sense something was wrong. 'We are gonna die,' one attendee 'jokes' in a clip, now with 10.3 million views, filming the unsafe conditions. 'Saying this as a joke but on the inside this was a real feeling,' she wrote in the closed captions. 'This about to be bad when it starts,' another can be heard saying. 'Bro literally called it,' the captions add. 'I believe Astroworld 2021 was not an accident,' crowd safety expert Scott Davidson says in the documentary. 'It was an inevitability due to the lack of foresight and the abandonment of basic safety protocols.' Nearly 5,000 people were injured as a result of the crush. The Netflix documentary, which premiered on June 10, features interviews with several survivors. In total, 10 people lost their lives: Axel Acosta, Danish Baig, Rudy Peña, Madison Dubiski, Franco Patiño, Jacob Jurinek, John Hilgert, Bharti Shahani, Brianna Rodriguez, and Ezra Blount, who was just nine years old.

Netflix real estate agent Sara Burack killed in Hamptons hit-and-run
NEW YORK — Netflix star Sara Burack, best known as a luxury real estate agent who appeared on 'Million Dollar Beach House,' has died at age 40 in a Hamptons Bay hit-and-run. Burack was discovered lying unconscious on the side of Montauk Highway, near Villa Paul Restaurant, at around 2:45 a.m. Thursday. Responding officers found her with serious injuries indicating she'd been hit by a car, according to Southampton Town Police. She was immediately rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she died that afternoon, confirmed her friend and fellow real estate agent Paulette Orlando-Corsair. Orlando-Corsair said Burack suffered severe injuries to her head, brain and liver, as well as a broken leg. Police on Friday were still on the hunt for the driver, who fled the scene of the crash, as well as for information on the vehicle involved. Authorities have asked the public to come forward with any leads that can help identify the suspect. Burack lived in Southampton and was a successful broker and former agent with Nest Seekers International, a luxury firm with offices in New York City, the Hamptons, Connecticut and New Jersey. 'My family has a commercial construction material sales business that I spent many years of my life working for,' Burack told in 2020. 'I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent.' 'I have been spending half the year in the Hamptons for the past 11 years,' she added. 'It was only natural to turn my love for real estate into a blossoming career.' Burack starred on the reality series 'Million Dollar Beach House' in 2020. The show followed a group of young and hungry real estate agents as they competed to seal the deal on luxury listings in the Hamptons. Burack is survived by her parents, sister and brother-in-law.

‘The Bear' Season 4: The plot, returning cast members, release date and more. Where Carmy, Sydney and the restaurant go from here.
'Every second counts,' and that's made no clearer than on FX's The Bear. Returning on June 25, the Emmy-winning series will transport audiences back to the chaotic fine dining restaurant helmed by tortured culinary genius Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White). FX quietly renewed the series for a fourth season in March 2024. The latest season was filmed back-to-back with season 3, Deadline reported. Ahead, we break down everything you need to know before The Bear returns. The season three finale ends with a foreboding 'to be continued' on the screen. In the final scene of the season, Carmy looks down at his phone to see that the Chicago Tribune review of his restaurant has posted — and that he has a number of missed calls from both Cicero (Oliver Platt) and the Computer (Brian Koppelman). We don't get a close enough look at the review to fully know whether it's positive or negative, though fans have tried to decipher what it says. Carmy angrily exclaims 'motherf***er' after reading it — if that's any sort of indication. And if the review is bad, Cicero will stop funding the restaurant. Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), meanwhile, has a tough decision to make: Will she sign the partnership agreement and stick it out with the Bear or jump ship and take up former Ever chef Adam Shapiro's offer as his new chef de cuisine? Carmy's strict list of non-negotiables and toxic pursuit of culinary excellence could be enough reason for Sydney to cut ties with him and start new elsewhere. In the Season 4 trailer, Carmy seems eager to turn his attitude and the restaurant's morale around, though it may be too late. 'Look, we could do this. We could take care of people. It wouldn't be The Bear without the group of chefs — or Jeffs — responsible for running it. The Bear has previously featured a noteworthy roster of guest stars like John Cena as Sammy Fak and Josh Hartnett as the fiancé of Richie's ex-wife Tiff (Gillian Jacobs), who were both introduced in the third season. Jon Bernthal, beloved for his role as Carmy and Sugar's big brother who passed away, and Joel McHale as David Fields, Carmy's abusive old boss from New York, also appear in flashbacks throughout the series. Will Poulter as chef Luca and Olivia Colman as chef Terry emerged as fan favorites during the show's second season. Neither has outright confirmed they're returning, but Poulter's made his adoration of the show common knowledge. 'I really hope so,' Poulter told the Los Angeles Times in April of whether he'd be returning to The Bear. 'I love that show so much. The fact I get to be in it is crazy. When I'm on that set, I'm like, 'Oh, they've let a fan on set.' I literally feel like a competition winner.' The cast has remained pretty mum on details surrounding the Emmy-winning series' fourth season. What we do know, though, is that Edebiri, who made her directorial debut with Season 3, Episode 6's 'Napkins' on The Bear, also cowrote an episode for Season 4 with Boyce. 'Each season I've gotten to do different things,' Edebiri told actor-director Ramy Youssef for Cultured magazine. 'Last season I directed for the first time and this season I've written an episode. It's been a minute since I've written for TV, and I've learned so much since the last time — even something as simple as knowing what it's like to shoot an overnight. So, my episode will be taking place during the day.'
