Why this Chelsfield nursery is 'one of the best workplaces in the UK'
A Chelsfield nursery has been recognised as one of the best workplaces in the UK.
Brinds Well Day Nursery on Hawstead Lane, part of the employee-owned Childbase Partnership, has been included in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work list for 2025.
The nursery, rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, was named in the 'Top 10' of the list, which celebrates exceptional workplace culture and commitment to employee wellbeing.
The Sunday Times list is based on colleague feedback and in-depth survey analysis, covering key areas such as reward and recognition, empowerment, and job satisfaction.
Childbase Partnership, which has more than 2,300 colleagues, was named alongside David Lloyd Clubs, Octopus Energy, and Wingstop UK in the 'Very Big Organisation' category.
The organisation was rated 'Excellent' across the board.
Emma Rooney, CEO of Childbase Partnership, said: "We feel incredibly proud to have secured a Top 10 place in the Sunday Times Best Place to Work list.
"As an employee-owned company, we believe that when our partners thrive, so do the families we support.
"Providing children with the best start in life begins with a team that feels valued, supported, and genuinely fulfilled in their work.
"We've seen firsthand the impact this has on creating consistent outcomes, and we are committed to fostering an environment where our partners are inspired to deliver the highest standards of care and education."
This recognition comes after Childbase Partnership topped the Nursery World league tables for the second consecutive year for the quality of care and education throughout its 44 day nurseries in England.
The company also has the best staff retention rates in its history.
Childbase Partnership offers a range of benefits to its employees, including profit-sharing initiatives, which allow all colleagues to share in the company's success through cash bonuses.
Employees can also earn up to 20 extra paid days off per year, on top of their usual holiday allowance and bank holidays.
This means they could enjoy up to 51 days of paid annual leave.
Other benefits include a 75 per cent childcare discount for employees with children, two free meals a day in nursery, private healthcare schemes, gym discounts, and 24/7 access to DoctorLine for confidential GP advice.

Is Carlos Alcaraz dating anyone? Here's what we know.
Carlos Alcaraz has ascended to the top of the tennis world, with wins in three of the four Grand Slams and -- as of publishing this -- a spot in the 2025 French Open finals. As for his personal life? We know for sure he's not married and despite rumors about someone he's dating, it seems like he's still single. Advertisement As you might recall, he said this to Vogue way back in 2023: 'It's complicated, never staying in one place ... It's hard to find the person who can share things with you if you're always in different parts of the world.' In 2024, he said this via the Sunday Times: 'I am single. I am looking for someone. It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are travelling all the time.' And in 2025? There doesn't seem to be any news about a significant other at the moment.
