A singer who died hours after undergoing plastic surgery allegedly went on a boozy night out with her surgeon the night before going under the knife.
Ana Bárbara Buhr Buldrini went into cardiac arrest and died at a hospital in Turkey after receiving a breast augmentation, liposuction and a nose job.
The singer, 31, traveled with her artist husband, Elgar Miles, from their home in Mozambique to Istanbul last Friday for the surgeries.
Miles told Brazilian news outlet O Tempo that she was receiving the procedures in return for promoting Tusa Hospital.
'She wanted to undergo these procedures to improve her aesthetic standards. It was a dream of hers,' Miles said.
The couple, who married just a month ago, allegedly partied with the physician doing the surgeries in Istanbul on Saturday night, G1 reports.
Miles said they inquired about changing the date of the operation which was scheduled for Wednesday, to allow an extra day to recover.
'Due to scheduling issues, the surgeon decided to bring it forward to Sunday,' Miles said.
'We went to the clinic on Sunday just to see the place, but the doctor wanted to perform the procedure without Ana being prepared.'
Despite being out the night before, Miles claims his wife was persuaded to go ahead.
'The doctor assured me that there were no problems and that everything would be fine,' Miles told G1 news outlet.
Ana Bárbara underwent the procedures and was out of the operating room by 11 pm Sunday.
Miles said the doctor sent him a photo that showed the singer recovering.
Staff updated Miles and told him that she was still under anesthesia and that it would not take long for her to wake up.
But his concerns grew after he noticed a change in the staff's mood.
'They told me to go to the room, the assistants were acting strangely. I waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive her,' Miles said.
'I went down to the ground floor and a doctor said that her heart was beating slowly, another said that she was already dead.'
The doctors were detained at the hospital and later released by the Turkish police.
In a statement obtained by Turkish outlet Turkiye Today, Tusa Hospital denied any malpractice and said its staff attempted to revive Ana Bárbara.
'Despite all efforts by our expert anesthesiology team, the patient could not be resuscitated,' the medical facility said.
Ana Bárbara and Miles were married May 3 in Maputo, Mozambique, six years after meeting in Rome.
At the time she was employed at a tattoo studio next to the music recording studio Miles owned.
'She was the person who cared for me the most, who loved me the most, who believed in me the most,' he said.
'I just want justice to be done and for this case to serve as an example for all people who want to undergo a type of medical intervention like the one Ana underwent.'
In a heart-breaking tribute on Instagram, Miles laid bare the extent of his agony.
'Our last few days were too beautiful to end this tragically,' he wrote.
'I will love you forever because I chose you for that. Years and years of building our empire for today I'm here in this room alone with no floor.
'I promised to protect and love you like the queen and beautiful person you are inside and out. It doesn't seem fair living this life without you, not really.
'I want to be wherever you are because none of this makes sense without you.'
The Daily Mail has approached Tusa Hospital, the Turkish authorities and the Brazilian Embassy for comment.

Spain captain Alvaro Morata demands a return to his former club - despite spell in Turkey saving his marriage to Italian model Alice Campello following post-Euros split

Spain captain Alvaro Morata has demanded a return to his former club - despite his stay in Turkey saving his marriage. Morata, 32, split with his Italian influencer wife Alice Campello, 30, after his country's European Championship win last summer, but they rekindled their relationship in January this year. The glamorous couple met in 2016 and have four young children — Alessandro, Leonardo (twins), Edoardo, and Bella — but announced last August that they were going their separate ways seven years after tying the knot. Referencing the break-up, the model said: 'It was the biggest mistake we've ever made in our lives.' In a separate interview with Hola magazine, Campello admitted that the couple's move to Turkey has strengthened their marriage, with Morata joining Galatasaray on loan from AC Milan at the start of February. Now, however, as quoted by Spanish publication Diario AS, Morata is trying to force through a move to Spain, in the form of his ex-side Getafe. Morata joined Turkish giants Galatasaray in January after revealing he was back with his wife Reports have suggested the star split with Italian model Alice Campello after an argument on the pitch after Euro 2024 Reports of a potential move back to Spain for Morata are thought to have surfaced from Turkey. He then appeared to confirm that that could happen sooner rather than later, saying this week: 'I'm going to do everything I can to play for Getafe... I would like to return to Spain. I'll choose what makes my family happiest.' What makes his family happiest, though, may be staying in Turkey. Campello said: 'I think it's been very good for us to be in a place where we're alone again. 'We're relaxed there, with our family. People don't stop us so much on the street, and we can live a much more normal life, and at this stage of our lives, it's been good for us.' She also said of her relationship: 'We repeat it every day — I don't know how we could have made that decision. This experience has taught us both a lot because we understood what it's like to be without each other.' Morata also opened up on his battle against depression, admitting he almost did not make it to Germany to captain Spain to Euro 2024 glory. The forward, who received heavy criticism from both fans and journalists in the build-up to the tournament, said: 'When you have really tough times, depression, panic attacks, it doesn't matter what job you do, what situation you have in life, you have another person inside that you have to fight against every day and every night.' Getafe president Angel Torres, meanwhile, said: 'It's very nice. Since he left, he's said many times that he wanted to come back.
