Ashley Gil disappeared in an area of Lake Houston in Deussen Park after falling off a jet ski on Tuesday, June 17, and her body was recovered two days later on Thursday, June 19, according to the Houston Police Department (HPD), per local news outlet KHOU 11. Ashley was allegedly not wearing a life jacket when she fell from the jet ski, which was carrying multiple people at the time, per the outlet. PEOPLE reached out to the HPD for comment on Sunday, June 22, but did not receive an immediate response. In a statement to ABC 13 Houston, Ashley's boyfriend, Jason Rogriguez, said that he was out of town working the day of the incident, and he received a video of Ashley having fun on the jet ski at about noon that day, several hours before she allegedly fell. She was wearing a life jacket in the video, which he shared with the outlet. Jason also told ABC 13 that he and Ashley's loved ones still have questions regarding what occurred that day. Investigators are awaiting the results of Ashley's autopsy to confirm her cause of death, and they are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, per ABC 13. 'My heart goes out to her family, her loved ones and everyone affected by this tragic loss,' he said. Ashley's sister, Kathy Gil, has since created a GoFundMe to help her mother pay for funeral expenses for Ashley, as well as any other unexpected costs that may arise as a result of their loss. 'Ashley was a bright light in the lives of so many, full of love, laughter and kindness. She had an incredible spirit that touched everyone around her. Her absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of our family, friends, and all who knew her,' the GoFundMe reads. The GoFundMe has raised nearly $8,000 toward a goal of $10,000 as of Sunday, June 22. Man, 22, indicted in Waikiki road rage incident

An Oahu grand jury indicted a 22-year-old man Friday for allegedly shooting at another vehicle during a road rage incident Monday in Waikiki. Ezra Madali was indicted for first-degree reckless endangering, first-degree terroristic threatening and place to keep a pistol or revolver. According to the initial complaint, his action placed a man and /or a woman in danger of death or serious bodily injury. When another driver inadvertently merged into the lane Madali was driving in, he allegedly fired a handgun into the other vehicle. 'The alleged conduct in this case was senseless and dangerous, ' Honolulu Prosecutor Steve Alm said in a news release. 'Fortunately no one was injured. We are grateful for the swift investigative work by the Honolulu Police Department. We will work to ensure justice in this matter to protect our community.' If convicted, Madali could face 10 years in prison. The place to keep charge, a Class B felony, carries a 10-year sentence. The other two charges are Class C felonies, each having a maximum term of five years' imprisonment. Madali was released after posting $50, 000 bail. However, according to the grand jury bench warrant and an order by Judge Ronald Johnson his bail was increased today to $120, 000.
