In a statement to ABC 13 Houston, Ashley's boyfriend, Jason Rogriguez, said that he was out of town working the day of the incident, and he received a video of Ashley having fun on the jet ski at about noon that day, several hours before she allegedly fell. She was wearing a life jacket in the video, which he shared with the outlet. Jason also told ABC 13 that he and Ashley's loved ones still have questions regarding what occurred that day. Investigators are awaiting the results of Ashley's autopsy to confirm her cause of death, and they are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, per ABC 13. 'My heart goes out to her family, her loved ones and everyone affected by this tragic loss,' he said. Man, 22, indicted in Waikiki road rage incident
An Oahu grand jury indicted a 22-year-old man Friday for allegedly shooting at another vehicle during a road rage incident Monday in Waikiki. Ezra Madali was indicted for first-degree reckless endangering, first-degree terroristic threatening and place to keep a pistol or revolver. According to the initial complaint, his action placed a man and /or a woman in danger of death or serious bodily injury. When another driver inadvertently merged into the lane Madali was driving in, he allegedly fired a handgun into the other vehicle. Honolulu police seek suspect after officer hit by stolen jeep
STAR-ADVERTISER Honolulu police have opened up an attempted murder investigation after a man driving a stolen Jeep Cherokee allegedly struck an officer early this morning in Kalihi. At 1 :05 a.m., officers saw the driver of a silver 2016 Jeep Cherokee, which had been linked to burglary investigations, make an 'illegal traffic maneuver ' to enter the Kamehameha Shopping Center, the Honolulu Police Department said in a social media post. When officers approached him on foot at the McDonald's drive-thru, police said, the driver reversed, then accelerated forward toward one of the officers, hitting him in the leg. The 28-year-old officer was not injured, HPD said. The suspect fled and has not yet been located, according to the post. Police found the stolen Jeep about an hour later, abandoned on North Nimitz Highway. 'Witnesses reported a male wearing black clothing and a ski mask exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot, ' HPD said in the post. The suspect is wanted for alleged first-degree attempted murder. Pedestrian, 74, dies after hit-run crash in Honolulu
Honolulu police said a 74-year-old woman who was struck in a crosswalk Tuesday by a hit-and-run driver has died. Police said the pedestrian was struck by an 'unidentified motorist ' as she was trying to cross Makaloa Street at Kaheka Street in the Ala Moana area at about 12 :10 p.m. Tuesday. The driver fled in an unknown direction, according to the Honolulu Police Department's Traffic Division said. The woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office notified HPD today that she had 'succumbed to her injuries, ' police said. 'At this time, speed does not appear to be a contributing factor of this collision, ' HPD said in a news release. 'It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.' HPD did not release a description of the vehicle or the motorist. Also on Tuesday, three other people were killed in motor vehicle crashes on Oahu—and. Police said the Makaloa Street hit-and-run crash was Oahu's 37th traffic fatality this year compared with 15 at the same time last year.
