Mitsubishi is recalling nearly 2 lakh SUVs in US over software issues
Mitsubishi
has recalled nearly 200,000 SUVs in the US due to a software issue that causes the rearview camera to freeze, which could increase the risk of a crash. The Japanese car maker announced this recall on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website. Mitsubishi reported the recall earlier this month as the company stated that this is an expansion of a similar recall issued in May 2023, identified as recall no. 23V345. The issue specifically involves the rearview camera freezing during operation. Here are all the details about the SUV models that have been recalled and how Mitsubishi is working to fix the issue

The affected models include 2022–2024 Outlander and 2023–2025 Outlander PHEV SUVs, bringing the total impacted vehicles to an estimated 198,940.
The problem originates from improperly programmed software that can trigger a black screen when the driver shifts into reverse within 40 seconds of startup or remains in reverse for more than six seconds.

These same symptoms prompted a smaller recall in May 2023 covering some 2022–2023 Outlander and Outlander PHEV models, but reports of camera freezes and screen reboots persisted through early 2024.
Dealers first flagged audio-control issues in mid-2023, followed by recurrent software lockups and display blackouts.
After investigating customer complaints—six field reports and 358 warranty claims—Mitsubishi concluded on May 23, 2025, that a new recall was necessary.
Owners whose vehicles were previously repaired under recall 23V345 will require this updated software as well. Going forward, all Outlanders built after April 22, 2025, will ship with the corrected software.
Mitsubishi will notify dealers starting June 16 and mail owner notification letters on June 30. Dealers will perform the software update free of charge.
Owners who incur reasonable expenses due to the recall will receive instructions in their notification letter for reimbursement through Mitsubishi's Customer Relations Department.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration lists this action as recall number 25V369000; Mitsubishi's internal reference is SR-25-001.

Experts roped in for busy trafffic crossings
Jaipur: To address growing traffic congestion, the Jaipur Commissionerate's traffic department plans to engage a traffic institution for expert solutions at two major city junctions—the MI Road–Tonk Road Junction near the Yadgar traffic headquarters and the Govt Hostel Crossing near the Commissionerate headquarters. Officials said the rapid increase in vehicular traffic has turned these crossings into daily bottlenecks. The situation is expected to worsen with the upcoming construction of Jaipur Metro Line 2 by the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC). The main line will pass through the Govt Hostel Crossing, while a spur from Chandpole Gate will link Line 1 and Line 2 at the same point. JMRC also has plans for metro connectivity to Ajmeri Gate. DCP (traffic) Shaheen C confirmed that preliminary surveys and measures have been implemented. "We are now seeking expert technical input and will appoint a third-party agency to suggest solutions. Institutions like MNIT and others are under consideration," she said. Meanwhile, the traffic department installed sensor-enabled signals at these two crossings. Such signals are installed at a few other crossings in the city, like the Rambagh Circle. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo "The time limits (for green or red) at these signals are not pre-set. These signals determine the volume of traffic on each flank and glow red or green according to the requirement. Recently, we installed these signals at these two crossings. Traffic movements at both crossings improved to some extent following the installations," said a senior traffic official. The traffic department also decided to install signals with illuminated poles at all the traffic signals across the city. This technology enables the lighting on the entire pole to be synchronized with the signal, which helps motorists to have a view of the signal, even if they are stranded behind a bigger vehicle.

"An auto ride between Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Metro Station in Majestic and Freedom Park would normally cost Rs 50. But Saturday, auto drivers charged Rs 75-100. Similarly, the RTO officials must also verify the authenticity of the meters in all autorickshaws," explained a senior traffic police inspector.

Toyota to raise US auto prices
Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor said on Saturday it will raise prices for some vehicles sold in the United States by an average of $270 starting in July. The automaker's decision follows U.S. President Donald Trump 's imposition of a 25% tariff on imported vehicles and auto parts. A Toyota spokesperson, however, denied the tariff directly influenced the price increase. "The latest price hike is part of our regular review of the prices," Nobu Sunaga, a Toyota spokesperson, said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Dubai villas | search ads Get Deals Undo Prices for Lexus models, Toyota's luxury brand, would also increase by an average of $208, he said.
