Coronation Street fans are in for some heartbreaking scenes next week, as one fan favourite will be saying her final goodbyes to the cobbles.
Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh) returned to the soap earlier this year ahead of Eileen's (Sue Cleaver) exit from the cobbles. However it was later revealed that she was terminally ill with cancer, and only had months to live.
Sadly, Julie will be saying her final goodbyes next week, and in devastating scenes she will be seen recording devastating videos of herself on her phone for her loved ones to see when she is gone.
In heartbreaking scenes, Julie and Eileen take in the breath-taking views at the lake - as J ulie admits there's no place she'd rather be. Prior to this, Eileen is left furious with George as he plans a romantic evening for the two forgetting he was supposed to be taking her and Julie for a day out at the lake.
Eileen takes a cab to the lake, and meanwhile at No.11, George stumbles across a video where Julie advises Eileen to call time on her relationship with him.
Back at the lake, as per Julie's request, Eileen heads to the refreshment van. She then returns to find her sister lying on her back as Eileen checks for a pulse in a panic.
As an upset Eileen mulls over Julie's death, George worries about Julie's final message to Eileen and the future of their relationship which only annoys Eileen further.
Fans have been left furious with the reveal, as one took to X, previously known as Twitter to write: "Corrie is going to far with all these depressing storylines. Relationships breaking up. Need some fun and happy storylines to balance them out."
Speaking on her return to the soap earlier this year, Katy said: "It was really lovely to get the call. It is something I haven't thought about for many years. And I'm very fond of Julie, so it was a good feeling.
"It also felt good to be asked to be part of Eileen's departure story it is perfect to come and have some closure on Julie and Eileen, to kind of revisit her. And, you know, there was such a lovely vibe between Julie and Eileen," she continued.
"Sue and I go back to my very first job on The Cops so it is a full circle moment. It also attracted me as it was for a short set period of time and I could fit it in with the other things going on in my life."
Julie first left Weatherfield in 2015 after her relationship with Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) broke down.

Peter Adamson rose to fame over the years, but was particularly known for his role as Len Fairclough in Coronation Stree, and was on benefits at the time of his death A Coronation Street actor died penniless on benefits after two decades on ITV soap, it has been reported. Peter Adamson died at the age of 72 in 2002 at his home in Bury. He was known for playing the role of Len Fairclough in the iconic show. It has been said that he was a "virtual recluse" in the last few years of his life as a result of his acting career coming to an end in the 1980s. Peter starred in a huge 1,730 episodes of Coronation Street during his 22-year stint, which took place from 1961 until 1983. This was his last acting job as he was then accused of indecently assaulting two eight-year-old girls at Haslingden Baths, where he worked as a swimming instructor the same year. He was acquitted of the charges at Burnley Crown Court. While drunk, he was allegedly persuaded to change his story and is alleged to have said in an interview: "I am totally guilty of everything the police said... But what I hope you will print – there was no sexual intent." He was paid £110,000 for the interview. But Lincolnshire Police later re-interviewed Adamson, who denied the confession. The reporter in question said he had "mislaid" the interview tapes, and the police took no further action. He was immediately sacked by ITV bosses and written out of the soap. The actor left to start a new life in Canada to start a new life but soon came back to the UK and was declared bankrupt in 1991. Upon his return, he had to live in a rented flat and relied on benefits as he was unable to find work. While he was on Corrie, he was paid £10,000 a year, which is around £190,000 in today's money. Peter was still receiving benefits when he died, but he had financial issues more than once in his life. It was said that the actor heavily drank while he worked and owed thousands to Inland Revenue by the late 1960s. He was then suspended from Coronation Street in 1969 due to his drinking. The legal bill from his trial showed the financial issues he went through in his life. Things got even worse for the actor after the trial, as his wife Jean died shortly after. Peter managed to add some final acting roles to his list, which included radio work and a West End production of Dial M for Murder. He also had a stint in Vanburgh's The Relapse in 1988. The star left behind two sons when he passed away in 2002.

Corrie favourite Cait Fitton finally gave fans a glimpse of the new boyfriend she soft-launched on Instagram, as she shares images of her sweet birthday decorations to celebrate Coronation Street actress Cait Fitton has made her new relationship Instagram official, after sharing a birthday post for her mystery boyfriend. The 23-year-old, who plays Corrie's Lauren Bolton, teased her new partner a few weeks back, telling fans her "boyfriend" had bought her a Jellycat toy. But now, she's taken her new romance to the next level, having shared a photo on her story showing some silver '23' balloons, as well as a photo of what appears to be her boyfriend. She sweetly wrote: "A day celebrating you," following her message with a white loveheart emoji. Her previous story post showed a collage of images of her with her partner, with Cait writing: "Happy birthday to my man." She added: "Thank you for blessing my life." Having overcome abuse at the hands of Joel Deering, which ended in his death, and welcoming her baby son Frankie, Lauren's had plenty of trauma to deal with. But just as things are looking up for the troubled barmaid, it's all about to go downhill, according to Cait. She explained: "She's at a really stable point of her life. She has a job at the Rovers behind the bar, and she's learning the craft. She's trying to build relationships. That's where the party comes in.' Lauren's chance to let her hair down quickly descends into chaos when Aadi (Adam Hussain) and Bernie (Jane Hazelgrove) decide to throw a midsummer party. When Lauren arrives with Dylan, Brody and Betsy, she realises Brody has brought some LSD. What begins as a chance to let loose quickly spirals into disaster for Lauren. The chaos kicks off when Aadi (Adam Hussain), nudged by Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove), throws a midsummer party. Cait revealed: "Lauren doesn't even know what is going on. She has anxiety over whether or not she should even be there because she doesn't know anybody apart from Betsy. She seems out of place, though she tries her best to fit in.' When Cait accidentally takes the hallucinogenic drug, the night goes south. Cait added: "She has a traumatic experience with it. We see a side of her that we haven't seen for months. "Her trauma is going to affect her future. It's going to be a rollercoaster. Everybody at that party - their lives are going to be changed. I don't know how she'll go through it."
