Fed may already be late to cutting rates again, strategist argues
The Federal Reserve is widely expected to leave rates unchanged at its meeting on Wednesday. But Laffer Tengler Investments CEO and chief investment officer Nancy Tengler thinks that given the Fed's tendency to rely on backward-looking data, the central bank has been late "at every turning point" and may already be late to cutting rates again. To watch more expert insights and analysis on the latest market action, check out more Market Domination Overtime here. Given that you think the economy is doing okay, are you in the camp then that the Fed maybe starts to cut over the summer or do you think they're going to wait a little longer to make sure that we're not going to get tariff induced inflation? Well, Julie, I hope this doesn't seem unkind, but um, this Fed has been late at every turning point. And I think that began when they shifted their attention to backward looking data. So if you're driving your car looking through the rearview mirror, you you could end up in the danger zone. And I think that's what's happened. They let inflation get out of control. And then that preemptive hundred basis points cut this last fall, uh is is mind boggling to me, and it was to the bond market because you saw the 10 year rally 100 100 basis points to offset the cuts. So I think what I would say is that um, they will probably be late, they may already be late and continuing to cut, uh and I think they will come around uh in in the fall, not over the summer. Do I think they should cut in the summer? I think the new neutral rate would argue that uh the Fed funds rate is too high, and uh it's it's creating other problems. Like if you just think about who benefits and who is hurt from the higher rates, it's the consumer that's hurt, it's small businesses that are hurt. Who's benefiting? Banks who are shopping at at the Fed's window. Uh they're getting pretty hefty payments. And then of course, the government is paying uh significantly more on the debt, which is no one's fault but their own, but it is a fact. Sign in to access your portfolio

Jennifer Love Hewitt teases ‘very different' Julie James in I Know What You Did Last Summer
Jennifer Love Hewitt has teased Julie James will be 'very different' in I Know What You Did Last Summer. The 46-year-old actor is set to reprise the role after first starring as Julie in the 1997 original and its 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and Hewitt has now hinted Julie has changed a lot in the upcoming slasher. Speaking about her character during an interview with Extra, Hewitt said: 'She's very different. I think you'll see shades of that girl because I want those to be in there, but she's lived in. 'She's in her 40s. She's carried this a long time. I think she's figured out how to deal. She's a professor in sort of the mind and trauma and PTSD field. 'So, I think she's figured out a way to put herself in a position in her life so she can deal every day with what happened to her in her teens. She's a little edgier. She's funny.' As well as Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr. will return for I Know What You Did Last Summer as Ray Bronson. Meanwhile, Sarah Michelle Gellar - who starred in the original I Know What You Did Last Summer as the ill-fated Helen Shivers - has been given an 'unofficial' role in the upcoming slasher by director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. I Know What You Did Last Summer - which will hit screens on 18 July 2025 - follows a group of teens who are haunted by a deadly secret after a hit-and-run cover-up. With a masked killer stalking them one year later, the group seek out two survivors from the infamous Southport massacre of 1997 as their past comes back with a vengeance. Previously, Robinson teased I Know What You Did Last Summer would be 'much more brutal' than the original. Speaking with People, she said: '[The horror elements are] ratcheted up to a hundred in this - it's much more brutal. 'There's definitely more methodology to every kill in this movie, unlike the first, which is kind of just him [the killer] stalking them and going after them. 'There's not a lot of gore or blood or violence in the first one. There certainly is in this one.' Robinson added she wanted to make I Know What You Did Last Summer for fans of the original flick, though emphasised the slasher would still be accessible to newcomers to the franchise. She explained: '[We] approached it like super fans, so I think people are going to be really happy. All the things that you want to see in this movie, you're going to see in this movie ... 'We very purposefully wanted to make this movie both for fans of the original who are coming to this and excited about the easter eggs but also for a new audience that can find I Know and almost watch the first one like a prequel. 'That was very front of mind for me as we made this movie. You don't need to do any research coming into I Know What You Did Last Summer. You just have to have a really good time.'

Julie Chrisley continues to wow fans with post-prison transformation as she immediately returns to spotlight
Julie Chrisley 's post-prison glow up is continuing to shock fans with the matriarch looking 'younger' and 'hotter' than ever before. The television personality, 52, was released three weeks ago alongside husband Todd Chrisley. The couple - best known for their reality show Chrisley Knows Best and its spin-offs - were convicted in 2022 of defrauding banks out of $30 million. In the days after she was freed Julie was pictured with a head of gray roots, but she has since completely overhauled her appearance and has returned to her signature blonde locks. And over the weekend, she shocked spectators with her youthful visage as she showed up alongside her daughter Savannah Chrisley on stage for Turning Point USA's Young Women's Leadership Summit. For the event, Julie showcased her layered platinum blonde hair and sported a fresh face of makeup. She also flashed her pearly white teeth as she grinned for the cameras with tears visible in her eyes. Completing her look, she wore a pair of low waist white wide leg jeans and a black and white paisley print shirt. 'Today, because of God and a p**sed off daughter and Donald J. Trump, my mom is here,' Savannah said as she addressed audiences. 'So, I guess this is to say that if you don't think that one person can make a difference, look at what just one daughter did. 'I did it because I refused to give up. I refused to give up on my parents. I knew that they were coming home. It was never an if, it was a when. And this is what it looks like when women fight back. 'This is exactly what it looks like when daughters don't give up and when mothers are reunited with their children. 'This is what it looks like. And I promise you, whatever you're facing today you are strong enough, you are brave enough, you're smart enough. You are enough and you're woman enough to change the world.' Despite Savannah's rousing speech, social media users couldn't keep their eyes off Julie. Taking to Instagram, one exclaimed: 'Only Julie Chrisley comes out of prison looking hotter than when she went in.' 'She's looks freaking fabulous,' another observed. Social media users couldn't keep their eyes off Julie and said she looks 'better than ever' A third gawked: 'Auntie Julie is sooooo gorgeous.' 'Julie looks great. Even better. Younger,' a fourth said. 'Julie looks better than she ever has. 10 years younger,' added another. A sixth declared she is 'aging backwards.' Julie had been serving her seven-year prison sentence in Kentucky, while Todd, 56, was serving his 12-year sentence in Florida. In the first photos that were taken following her release, Julie was seen exiting a Nashville butcher shop with gray hair. At the time, her son Chase said that she was going to refrain from dying it back to blonde. 'Her hair is darker now,' he told Entertainment Tonight. 'I'm like, "Mama, we gotta go back platinum blonde." And she was like, "I'm not doing that."' 'My mother's an angel and she's still a beautiful woman,' he concluded. Last week, two fans spotted Julie at Target on where she posed for selfies shared on TikTok. In the photos, her blonde hair appeared to be nearly back to its pre-prison shade. Her shoulder-length hair was a bright blonde and featured delicate highlights and a cool undertone. Julie showed off her glowing complexion with a touch of makeup, wearing bronze eyeshadow, black eyeliner, and sporting clear gloss. Todd and Julie were convicted of conspiring to defraud Atlanta-area banks out of more than $36 million in loans using false documents, along with tax evasion. They were ordered to pay $17.8 million in restitution. Her husband Todd has made numerous public appearances since his release. At a May 30 press conference, he maintained his innocence and blamed his imprisonment on what he described as a corrupt prosecution. 'I would have remorse if it was something that I did,' he said. 'The corruption that went on in our case is going to continue to unfold.' According to sources, several production companies are interested in developing a new show centered on the Chrisley Knows Best couple, who served over two years of their sentences for tax evasion and bank fraud. While the family already has a separate series in the works with Lifetime—focusing on how the Chrisley children coped with their parents behind bars—that show was reportedly not expected to include Todd and Julie. However, following their pardon, the couple immediately returned to filming, and insiders say one show won't be enough.

Family of late Wicklow man to thank local charities who helped him with golf event
Wicklow People Following the success of last year's inaugural Colin O'Mahony Golf Classic, which raised more than €12,000 for local charities, golfers are preparing once again to tee off at Delgany Golf Club later this month. Colin, who grew up in Bray before moving to Delgany, is remembered by family, friends and colleagues for his warm heart, quick wit, and deep care for his community. He worked with care and excellence in the property and creative industries, always ready to lend a hand or offer expert advice. His generosity of spirit was felt by all those who knew him. Now loved ones of the late Mr O'Mahony have established this golf classic, to recognise the great care Colin received from Wicklow Hospice and Greystones Cancer Support before he passed on March 30 2024. Friends and family are travelling from as far afield as America, Cyprus and England to participate in this year's event, with Delgany Golf Club captains, former RTÉ journalist Sean O'Rourke, and president, Ailbe Brennan, also in attendance, alongside Colin's parents, wife Julie, and their four daughters. Colin's wife Julie said: 'We are thrilled with the support of this event and are so grateful to the many business and friends for their support. The beautiful trophy has room for 50 teams so we look forward to running this event for many more years and continuing to support these two amazing charities who provided so much help to our family and continue to assist many other local families.' The second Colin O'Mahony Golf Classic takes place on Thursday, June 19, and 22 teams will take part in the shotgun competition, with a further 60 guests due to join the golfers later for dinner and a prize-giving ceremony in the clubhouse. Local businesses have been coming on board to support the event by generously sponsoring each tee and hole on course. The attendees will also include Allison Ryder from Wicklow Hospice and Amanda Lawless from Greystones Cancer Support. For anyone who wishes to support the event, donation boxes can be found in Spar Bray, Centra Eden Gate and Delgany Golf Club and online donations can be made to
