Sony Pictures Classics has just dropped the first trailer for Oh, Hi!, and if the internet is any indication, fans are already obsessed.
The chaotic, funny, and unexpectedly tender romantic comedy stars Molly Gordon and Logan Lerman as Iris and Isaac.
The film, directed by Sophie Brooks (The Boy Downstairs), follows Iris and Isaac on what should be a dreamy first couples getaway.
There's a charming romantic dinner, dancing under fairy lights, and even an experimental foray into BDSM.
But things take a sharp left turn when Iris dares to use the word 'couple.' Isaac quickly backpedals, prompting Iris to do something… bold.
'Why would you bring me here? Why would you spend all day acting like my boyfriend!?' she demands, standing over a very handcuffed Isaac.
'You're being kinda crazy right now,' he replies.
Spoiler: that does not calm her down.
The film co-stars Geraldine Viswanathan, John Reynolds, David Cross, Jimmy Gary Jr., and Polly Draper, rounding out an all-star cast.
Since its premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, Oh, Hi! has been building buzz.
Kevin Fallon of The Daily Beast's Obsessed called it 'a hilarious comedy' that disrupts rom-com expectations while The Guardian notes '…the film does happen upon a real, and painful, truth of the problems that come from dating without a label.'
Many critics have also noted the strength of Molly Gordon's performance, with Variety calling it 'boundless and bouncily unhinged.'
It's also struck a chord online, with fans losing their minds over the Lerman-Gordon pairing and the movie's unhinged premise.
'I am so seated for sexy indie Gerald's Game,' tweeted @SeriousMolly.
'Molly Gordon has so much on screen power. She should be in more projects,' added @Haiderjkhan.
@_tweetsbyjess declared: 'Girl this seems like a hit to me!! We will be watching.'
And perhaps most appropriately, @stylesgala posted: 'Someone is going to have to restrain me when I see oh, hi!' More Trending
Gordon, who also co-wrote the story with Brooks, told Vanity Fair the film is about modern dating frustrations and the emotional confusion that comes with them.
'With apps, it's just such a hard time to date in our modern age, and we've had a communication breakdown between sexes,' she said.
'We just wanted to make something that is about how hard it is to just be honest about how you feel about someone.'
Catch Oh, Hi! in theaters starting July 25, Bring Your Own Handcuffs (BYOH).

'My Egyptian toyboy husband swore me off sex at 86 - but I won't divorce him'

Iris Jones, 86 shocked This Morning viewers with details of her sex life with Egyptian toyboy, but now she says she is "agony aunt" to other women who have heart their broken by much younger men A pensioner who boasted on TV about romps with her Egyptian toyboy says she has sworn off sex for good after their acrimonious split. Iris Jones, 86, stunned This Morning viewers when she spilled the beans about her steamy antics with Mohamed Ibrahim, 40. She was open about their use of K-Y Jelly and said their nights of passion left her feeling 'saddle-sore'. ‌ She married Mohamed, 46 years her junior, in 2020 in Cairo after meeting him on social media the year before. Her new husband moved to the UK in 2021, but they split in 2023. And now she says: 'The idea of sex now makes my stomach turn. I'm not interested in men at all, not in companionship with them and certainly not sex with them. ‌ 'My experience with Mohamed has put me off relationships for life. I wish I'd never met him.' Iris, a former legal secretary, wed Mohamed on her third visit to Cairo in a civil ceremony, with only his dad in attendance as a witness. Iris, who has two sons, Stephen, 59, and Darren, 58, says before she got married Stephen begged her not to do anything rash. Even the wedding reception being a meal in McDonald's did not put her off, she says, adding: 'I didn't care. I thought I was madly in love, so I would have married him anywhere.' But her desire turned to disdain and she kicked Mohamed out following 'non-stop arguing'. She says: 'I finally realised I had enough. I was so tired from all the housework and cleaning up after him that the physical side dwindled to nothing. 'Mohamed was only with me for my money. I can see that now, and I look back and think, 'How could I have been so stupid?' The Mohamed I met in Egypt was Prince Charming, but living in my bungalow he was like the Prince of Darkness.' Bank statements show Iris transferred Mohamed thousands over the course of a year, which she claims were loans he has not repaid – which Mohamed disputes. ‌ The last time she had any contact with her husband, she says, was when she emailed him last year asking for his address so she could speak to the Home Office about his stay in the UK. She says: 'All I got back was him telling me his solicitor's details. I did see him in my local Tesco a few months after I chucked him out. 'When he saw me he tried to run away and hide. I have asked for the money back but I've now made peace with the fact I will never see it again. I don't want to see him again either, but I don't hate him. 'He hasn't ruined my life. I have two lovely sons, two lovely daughters-in-law – a great family life. ‌ 'But I feel so much regret for the pain I caused them. They begged me not to marry him. But I didn't listen.' Despite the acrimony, divorce is not on the cards, Iris – who has been divorced before – reveals. She insists: 'I'm not paying out for a divorce. I'm not spending any more money on him. It would cost me more to divorce him than to stay married and I don't want to lose any more money.' ‌ Since her split, Iris says women who tell her they have been conned by romantic partners have contacted her asking for advice. She says: 'I feel like an agony aunt to them. It's very sad that what's happened to me is so common. Some age gap relationships can work. But I would urge women to be careful of relationships with much younger men. They can be genuine but mine wasn't.' These days Iris, who lives in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, has replaced her passion for sex with a new hobby. She reveals: 'I like drawing caricatures. I find it really therapeutic. I do it every day and post my pictures on social media. ‌ 'I do draw Mohamed all the time – one drawing shows him as a wolf in sheep's clothing.' When the couple appeared on This Morning, Mohamed told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: 'I love Iris to the point of madness.' He is still in the UK, and says: 'I have been employed legally in England as a welder in construction and as a security guard. 'I have worked hard I have paid tax and have never claimed any benefits since being here in this country. I have been accused of taking [thousands], where is the evidence? I never asked [Iris] for money. I was no scammer. I paid her housekeeping every month.'

Netflix 'nightmare' body-swap film with 'unforgivable' twist

It's What's Inside is a sci-fi horror that was released straight to streaming service Netflix in 2024 and has been causing quite a stir among fans of the genre This horror film has been making a splash in the genre, earning rave reviews from movie buffs on Rotten Tomatoes, despite it being the director's debut feature. It's What's Inside is an independent sci-fi horror penned and directed by Greg Jardin, starring a cast of up-and-coming actors, including Brittany O'Grady, best known for her role as Paula in The White Lotus. She forms part of an ensemble cast portraying a group of friends whose lives take a bizarre turn. ‌ One captivated viewer hailed the film as "absolute cinema." ‌ They wrote: "Truly a work of art. Anxiously waiting for another dose of this." The 2024 horror flick is peppered with dark humour as it delves into the dynamics among a group of old university mates reuniting for a wedding. The plot thickens when Forbes, played by David W Thompson, brings along a suitcase containing a peculiar device, reports the Mirror US. This enigmatic gadget allows them all to switch bodies, sparking off an exhilarating game. They decide to liven things up by guessing who is in whose body, but the fun quickly spirals out of control, leading to a stark division within the group. A viewer commented: "An EXTREMELY original take on the body swap trope. This has cult classic potential. The plot is original and engaging. The execution and cinematography are exactly what's needed. The acting is robust but fell slightly short of making this an easy five-star rating. I'd suggest this to anyone in the mood for a body-swap film with a few dark twists. It might even be something I revisit in the future." However, one aspect that many viewers agreed upon was the "big twist" at the end, or as some are referring to it, the "unforgivable" ending. One viewer said: "Don't completely love the ending unless there's a sequel on the horizon soon." Elaborating further, another somewhat disappointed viewer remarked: "The film is generally quite brilliant. A fantastic drama with a rather unique approach to body-swap films. But it has the worst ending I have ever seen in a film. Cut off just at the climax." The film was launched just last year in 2024 after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and went directly onto the streaming platform. It garnered mostly positive reviews, with an overall score of 79% on the review platform Rotten Tomatoes, and many fans are eagerly awaiting a sequel following its shocking twist. If you're intrigued by less than two hours of dark humour and sci-fi frights, It's What's Inside is available to stream now on Netflix.

Coronation Street icon who left soap after 25 years lands exciting new role

Coronation Street legend Sue Cleaver may have only just left her role as Eileen Grimshaw on the cobbles, but already she has her next job lined up. Eileen left Weatherfield for a new life in Thailand earlier this month, after confessing that she had fallen out of love with George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley). Having been given the chance to invest in son Jason Grimshaw's bar, Eileen decided to make her trip to Thailand permanent. Sue announced her exit at the beginning of the year, explaining that she wanted to try new things. 'The door is still firmly open, but as I reached my 60th year, I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures, and live fearlessly,' Sue said. Now, she is doing just that as she joins the cast of Snake in the Grass at the Theatr Clwyd and Octagon Theatre Bolton. She is set to star alongside Nicola Stephenson and Lisa Zahra when the production hits the stage this autumn. Sue spent 25 years on Coronation Street, and previously revealed that she was 'privileged' to have done so. Talking to Metro at the British Soap Awards, Sue's co-star Gareth Pierce, who plays on-screen son Todd Grimshaw, opened up about her departure. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'It's so sad,' he told me. 'Sue's amazing and she really welcomed me in, as well. I screen-tested with Sue as well as with Dan Brocklebank and Peter Ash when I was coming in and that was probably one of the things that got me the job was that they both treated it as we were just filming those scenes by that stage. More Trending 'I was so lucky that Sue was so generous that we fell into the mother/son dynamic very easily. That's testament to her as much as anything that I did. 'We're hugely going to miss Sue. She's brilliant. Eileen is such an iconic character. But I think she's also a brilliantly equipped actress to see what else is out there. I think it's been a burning desire of Sue's for a while. I think she'll be brilliant in whatever she does.' View More » This article was originally published on 9th June 2025.
