Great Dane's Tender Determination to Keep Baby Safe on Couch Is Too Sweet
Great Dane's Tender Determination to Keep Baby Safe on Couch Is Too Sweet originally appeared on Parade Pets.
Babies and dogs often have a special connection. Maybe it's the vulnerability of infants that pooches feel they need to protect, or it could be the curiosity and joy babies get out of everyday discoveries that resonates with dogs.
This black Great Dane clearly cares for his human baby brother. The two seemed inseparable in this TikTok from @gemmini2313.
The baby boy was enjoying some tummy time on the long black couch as the Great Dane was sprawled out with his head fully rested on the child. The two looked completely comfortable and acted as though this is an everyday occurence.
"Look at you guys... you're so cute!" the mom of the two exclaimed as the baby let out a sweet sound.
"Tell me you live in a house full of boys without telling me you live in a house full of boys," the onscreen text joked.
The colossal canine appeared to be protecting the baby from falling off the couch. He seemed to know how easily the little boy could roll off and made sure it wouldn't happen on his watch. The heartwarming scene showed the strong bond between the two boys.Great Danes are known as the gentle giants of canines. They make wonderful family pets and are very good with children of all ages. However, a Great Dane should never be left alone with a child since they could unintentionally cause an injury due to their massive size and strength. This breed also should be trained not to play rough because they can easily overpower a person or another smaller dog.
That being said, these mammoth dogs are total love bugs. Great Danes are highly social, loving, and gentle, and thrive on socialization. They are also patient and highly intelligent, making them excellent candidates for training.
Great Danes rank as the tallest dogs in the world, with males reaching up to 32 inches at the shoulder and weighing in at a massive 175 pounds. Females are a bit smaller, measuring up to 30 inches and 140 pounds. Despite their tremendous size, Great Danes carry themselves with grace and an almost regal gait.
This Great Dane looks like he has a bestie for life with his baby brother.

Backpacking Maine Coon Uses Enormous Wooly Mammoth Paws to Warn Bro of Smackdown
Backpacking Maine Coon Uses Enormous Wooly Mammoth Paws to Warn Bro of Smackdown originally appeared on Parade Pets. Siblings will always find a way to irritate each other, especially when Mom and Dad have their backs turned. The old "I'm not touching you" while waving a digit in the other's face is classic and a regular go-to when forced to spend "quality" time together. Maine Coon bros Jimmy and Beaks ride the fine line between playing and fighting when joining the parents on a backpacking adventure, but only because neither wants to get caught, scolded, and the reason all the fun ended in the first place. But Beaks found a loophole, proving sibling rivalry never dies. This video is the epitome of "tell me you have a sibling without telling me," and the pair crushed it. The way Beaks uses that paw, the size of a human foot, is enough to threaten Jimmy within an inch of his life — except he, too, has humongous, wooly mammoth bear claw paws that he could use to fight back if he wanted! Play fighting is the game of choice for the Maine Coon brothers. It doesn't matter where they are or what's going on; if the mood strikes, the claws are coming out and floof will be shed! The boys do get along every now and then, and outside of usual sibling antics, they're really well-behaved kitties. Hiking, backpacking, hanging with the fam — whatever it is, they're fully in. I've never seen a more worldly duo. Even when dressed to the nines in the finest, freshest new styles, Beaks and Jimmy can't help but start some beef. It's a rite of passage to have these sorts of interactions with your brother, so they don't skip a single chance to do it — while wearing the cutest little sweater and puffy coat! Affectionately called the "skibbidi bap," these two have perfected the art of war, at least when the war is just being in the same vicinity! If you'll notice, there's even a rage-filled look of brotherly annoyance right before Jimmy's smackdown. It's such a mood. Future smackdowns are inevitable and it's a sign the two love each other. When it comes to siblings, love isn't so much a verb that has to be shown in sweet ways. In fact, sometimes the more arguing, fighting, skibbidi bapping there is, the more each feels that love! 🐶🐾🐾 Backpacking Maine Coon Uses Enormous Wooly Mammoth Paws to Warn Bro of Smackdown first appeared on Parade Pets on Jun 19, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jun 19, 2025, where it first appeared.

Owner Predicts What Puppy Will Grow Into—Unprepared for Reality
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A woman was not prepared for just how much her puppy would grow to resemble one of the most-iconic cartoon dogs of all time—Scooby-Doo. Danielle Mark (@thereal_scoobydoo), 36, from South Florida first noticed the likeness when her blue fawn Great Dane, Scooby, was just 6 months old. "I never knew that he would look like Scooby-Doo when he grew up," Mark told Newsweek. "I first realized when a friend said to me when he was 6 months old, 'he kind of looks like Scooby,' but I just brushed it off. The first time I took him out in a public place with many people was after his training boot camp he went to, and a boy yelled to me: 'I like your Scooby-Doo dog!' And I said thank you! And now I can't go anywhere without a Scooby-Doo comment." The video Mark shared of his transformation has garnered more than 111,000 likes and almost 1 million views. Scooby is now 2 years old, weighs 160 pounds, and lives with Mark, a dachshund, and three Maine Coon cats. A split image showing the real-life Scooby-Doo as a puppy versus now, right. A split image showing the real-life Scooby-Doo as a puppy versus now, right. @thereal_scoobydoo/@thereal_scoobydoo Mark said she has had Scooby since he was 8 weeks old and described him as affectionate and friendly toward both people and animals. She is regularly greeted by strangers shouting things like, "SCOOBY DOOBY DOOOOOO" and "zoinks!"—a reference to Scooby-Doo's best friend, Shaggy—and has even been asked whether she stole him from Shaggy or if Scooby eats sandwiches as in the cartoon. Some have even wondered whether he'll be cast in the next live-action Scooby-Doo. Mark works as a real estate agent, investor, Maine Coon breeder, and now Scooby's manager on TikTok. She said it wasn't until she posted a playful video of a viral blanket-hiding trend that things really exploded online. Mark said: "Then when I posted a video on TikTok for my 12 followers of me doing the trend where I hide in a blanket after I throw a ball and he can't find me, it really hit me, seeing over 26 million views and 8,000 Scooby-Doo comments and then the followers gained quickly!" She described Scooby as the "sweetest and smartest Great Dane I've ever had"; he enjoys swimming, cuddling, playing with other dogs, getting treats, and learning new tricks. Scooby is also quite needy and experiences a bit of separation anxiety, which they are working on. Their fame isn't just online. Mark said people often stop her on the street, pull out their phones, and even follow them around to take pictures and videos. "So many people just take out their phones and record us when we go for walks or an outdoor restaurant. They stop their cars to take a photo or video, FaceTime a friend, or follow us to take photos. He has his own paparazzi." Why Scooby Looks So Familiar The real Scooby-Doo, introduced in 1969 by Hanna-Barbera Productions, is a talking Great Dane known for solving mysteries with his gang in the Mystery Machine. Despite his large size and deep bark, Scooby-Doo is famously timid and food-obsessed, often bribed with "Scooby Snacks" to face his fears. He has a distinctive voice, signature catchphrases like "Ruh-roh!" and an unmistakable bond with his best friend, Shaggy. TikTok users couldn't get enough of the resemblance. "All I see is Marmaduke," one commenter wrote, referring to the fictional comic-strip Great Dane created by Brad Anderson in 1954. Like Scooby-Doo, Marmaduke is a lovable but bumbling giant dog known for his goofy antics and oversize presence. Another user joked, "That's Scrappy Doo," referring to Scooby-Doo's smaller, far more confident and occasionally annoying nephew, who was introduced to the franchise in 1979 and often exclaims, "Puppy Power!" Other users were simply charmed. "Gorgeous! Always wanted a Scooby Doo dog," wrote one. Another added: "That's what Scooby Doo was modeled after though lol [laugh out loud]. He does look like Scooby." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
