Downpours and storms could dump a lot of rain
(WJW) — Another round of showers and storms will move in this afternoon, especially south and east. Scattered rain and a few thunderstorms will favor areas east of Interstate 77 during the afternoon and evening on Friday. There will still be some dry breaks with temperatures in the mid-70s.

These are going to be slow-moving downpours and thunderstorms. Any downpours or storms that develop will not be in hurry to move and could dump quite a bit of rain in one spot. This could lead to a flooding threat.
Expected rainfall totals:
The chance of rain will go down for the start of the weekend. Unfortunately, this weekend may not be completely rain-free. A few rain showers could develop on Sunday as an area of low pressure moves through the Ohio River Valley.
Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be in 70s. There will be a drop in the humidity this weekend.
The start of next week will not be much warmer. High temperatures next week will generally be about 5 degrees below normal.

Earthquake reported Thursday in Northeast Ohio
[Get earthquake facts in the player above.] MADISON, Ohio (WJW) — The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 2.3-magnitude earthquake near Madison, in Lake County, on Thursday afternoon. It happened just before 1 p.m. a little more than a mile south-southeast of Madison, near Hogback Ridge Park, and about 3 miles below ground, according to the agency. WOW! See the wind speeds reported across NE Ohio

FOX 8 Meteorologist Jenn Harcher said a lot of wind damage was reported with a few tornado warnings issued. Tornado watch issued near the Indiana state line
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A tornado watch has been issued for Southwestern Michigan counties as a line of storms is expected to move into the state. Inside Radar The watch is in effect for Berrien, Cass, St Joseph and Branch counties near the Indiana state line lasting through 8 p.m. Wednesday. The environment will be primed for strong to severe storms between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. as an area of low pressure moves overhead. The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of West Michigan in a slight risk (level 3 of 5) for severe weather. Intense thunderstorms capable of producing a few tornadoes, damaging wind gusts up to 75 mph and large hail greater than 1 inch in diameter will be possible. Storms will quickly move through, so have a way to receive weather alerts where you live. Severe chances drop to near zero by nightfall, with drier air working in by Thursday.
