Valerie Bertinelli revealed she's "addicted" to Trader Joe's Trio of Soft Licorice Twists
She shared an Instagram video in which she recalled trying to find them in a store that wasn't her usual location
They come in three flavors: ripe raspberry, tropical mango and tart green appleValerie Bertinelli is making a confession about a certain chewy candy.
'I haven't been to a Trader Joe's in weeks, months possibly, because I am addicted to these,' she admitted in a video taken in her car that was posted to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, June 4.
The celebrity chef, 65, then held up a package of the grocery chain's Trio of Soft Licorice Twists.
'But what am I supposed to do?' Bertinelli asked. 'I'm driving home from an appointment. I'm stopped at a stoplight. And I go, 'Well, look at that right around the corner, there's a Trader Joe's.' I've never been to that particular Trader Joe's because I don't often drive down this particular street. But I might as well turn left and go into the very crowded parking lot and wait for a parking space."
Explaining that it was raining and she didn't have an umbrella, the Food Network alum went on to share her next course of action.
'Why don't I just walk into the store and get rained on so I can look for these particular things that I'm addicted to?' she continued. 'And I don't know the layout of this particular store, because every Trader Joe's is laid out differently. But did I walk around the store three times to see if I could find these, because they're not in the place they usually are, at the Trader Joe's I usually go to?'
'Okay, so what?' she asked viewers. 'And I ain't telling you how many bags I bought.'
A description of the product on the Trader Joe's website calls the twists 'superbly soft and pleasantly chewy.' They come in three flavors: ripe raspberry, tropical mango and tart green apple.
Bertinelli shared another playful anecdote on her Instagram Stories this week.
In a video posted Tuesday, June 3, the One Day at a Time star said she was mistaken for a Valerie Bertinelli lookalike while running a recent errand.
'People are adorable,' she began the funny story.
Bertinelli said when she visited a government office earlier that day for some paperwork, she was approached by a stranger while walking out.
'This guy stops me, holds up his phone and says, 'Hey ma'am, anybody ever tell you you look like her?'' she recalled. 'And it's me. And I said, 'Yeah, all the time.''
'Everybody waiting in line all started laughing,' she added. 'I don't know if they knew it was me, or they really thought it wasn't and that I looked really a lot like Valerie Bertinelli. … We had a good laugh. And I love people.'

Jussie Smollett reveals he's engaged to actor Jabari Redd: 'He said YES'

Jussie Smollett celebrated his birthday as an engaged man. The former "Empire" star, 43, revealed in an Instagram post that he is engaged to actor Jabari Redd. Smollett shared a gallery of photos showing himself down on one knee and presenting a ring to Redd, who looked elated. "I'll be spending my birthday with my Fiancé … He said YES. 💍," Smollett, who turned 43 on Saturday, June 21, wrote in the caption. Redd has appeared on shows like Showtime's "The Chi" and starred in "The Lost Holliday," a 2024 film directed by and starring Smollett. Smollett's sister Jurnee Smollett celebrated his engagement in the comments of the Instagram post, writing that she was "screaming with tears of joy!" She added that "my whole heart loves both of you" and welcomed Redd "to the family." Smollett's sister Jazz Smollett also commented, "Yaaaass!!! Welcome to the family Jabari!!! Love y'all!! Sooooo happy for you both." Jussie Smollett conviction in hate crime hoax overturned by Illinois Supreme Court The engagement news comes more than six years after Smollett was accused of staging a fake hate crime against himself in 2019. He claimed at the time that he was attacked by men who yelled homophobic slurs at him in Chicago. Jussie Smollett says he has 'to move forward' after alleged hate crime hoax Smollett was charged with lying to police about the attack, and he was convicted of felony disorderly conduct in 2021. But in November 2024, the Illinois Supreme Court overturned the actor's conviction, determining that he should not have been charged a second time for the same incident after charges against him were initially dropped in 2019. Smollett has repeatedly denied staging the hate crime and has maintained that the attack was real. Smollett reached a civil settlement with the city of Chicago earlier this year, according to NBC News. In a statement released on Instagram, the actor said he would pay $50,000 to a local nonprofit. "What I have to do now is move forward," he said. "I will continue creating my art, fighting passionately for causes I hold dear and defending my integrity and family name with the truth." Smollett previously told People magazine in an interview in September 2024, "I've moved on and I know that the world, one day, and it might be long after I'm gone, who knows, but one day the world is going to fix this. I just can't wait for that to happen because I have a life to live. But the world is going to fix it all."

Indiana Fever guard sees social media following erupt after Caitlin Clark defense

Since committing a hard foul in defense of star guard Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has seen her social media following skyrocket. Since the incident occurred, Cunningham's jersey sold out in the Fever team store and she has gained nearly 300,000 followers on Instagram and jumped from 300,000 to over 1.2 million followers on TikTok. As a frequent social media user, she posted a TikTok video playing into what happened during Tuesday's game with her lip-syncing lyrics from the Selena Gomez song, "Hands to Myself." "It's a joke... the sound was too fitting! happy game day," Cunningham captioned the post. That video now has more than 800,000 likes and 25,000 shares. Cunningham was ejected on June 17 after committing a late-game Flagrant 2 foul on Sun guard Jacy Sheldon which immediately drew Sheldon and fellow Sun guard Lindsay Allen into a fracas along the baseline. "It's cool. It's funny what kind of people are attracted to," Cunningham said Saturday of gaining so many followers. "I'm just trying to keep the main thing the main thing, and that's basketball, trying to win games, sticking up for my teammates. And that's all part of it. I think all that stuff is fun and whatnot, but, at the end of the day, we need to win some basketball games." Cunningham and the Fever (6-6) return to action on Sunday against the Las Vegas Aces (5-7) from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Hailey Bieber Wears Body-Hugging Strapless Green Minidress in New York on Solo Trip

THE RUNDOWN On Saturday, Hailey Bieber stepped out in New York City wearing a gorgeous green satin minidress. The strapless look hugged her figure and ended just above her knees. On her feet, the Rhode founder wore a pair of black kitten heels and she swung a black purse in one hand. She accessorized with black oval sunglasses, gold earrings, a gold wristwatch, and her wedding ring, which had been notably absent in her other New York outings this week. Earlier in the day, Hailey was seen in a fun summer outfit, wearing a sleeveless black top and black-and-white polkadot short pants. She carried another black handbag and wore thong kitten heels. She also posted a mirror selfie of the ensemble in her Instagram Stories, her left hand spread across her thigh to show off her ring. On Friday, Hailey was seen heading out for breakfast at The Commerce Inn in the West Village, then later that same night with models Camila Morrone and Suki Waterhouse at Chez Fifi on the Upper East Side. It seems she is unaccompanied by her husband, Justin Bieber. Justin has recently been recorded having confrontations with paparazzi and has posted frequently about his struggles with the spotlight on social media. A source told Us Weekly on February 24, 'Hailey is trying to be as supportive as possible. It can be hard for Hailey, but she's always there for him and is understanding.' On March 5, another source denied that the couple is having trouble, telling People, 'No matter what the rumors are, they are fine. Their marriage is fine. They're very happy together.' In November 2021, Hailey discussed the first year of marriage and wanting to be there for Justin during all of his challenges. 'Imagine abandoning somebody in the middle of the worst time of their life, potentially. I'm not that type of a person,' Hailey said on the In Good Faith with Chelsea & Judah Smith podcast. 'So I was going to stick it out no matter what the outcome was going to be. It was really hard. There were days where I literally was like, 'I don't know if he's going to be okay.' Something really deep down inside of me was like, 'He's going to get through it.' I just didn't know how long it was going to take. That's what I think was the hardest thing. There's no guarantees.'
