2027 4-Star QB Trent Seaborn Turns Down seven-Figure NIL Deal, Focused on One Team
The national spotlight has already found Trent Seaborn—and he's just now wrapping up his sophomore year of high school.
The 2027 four-star quarterback from Thompson High School (Alabaster, Alabama) has emerged as one of the most buzzed-about recruits in the country. He's been fielding attention from powerhouse programs coast to coast, and while offers from the Class of 2027 are just beginning to trickle out, Seaborn is a clear frontrunner to receive one of Clemson's first official quarterback invites when that window opens in June.

He'll be back in Tiger Town June 7-8 to work out at Dabo Swinney's high school camp, his second trip to campus since March. Clemson hasn't yet extended an offer, but the mutual interest is clear—and growing.
Already a two-time state champion, Seaborn's career has unfolded like a scripted drama. He started on varsity as an eighth grader and immediately delivered Thompson a state title. As a freshman, he completed 72% of his passes for 2,601 yards and 27 touchdowns, earning MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year honors. Then he bounced back from a runner-up finish to capture his second ring last season.

But Seaborn's story stretches beyond the field. Last year, he turned down a reported seven-figure NIL deal from Leaf Trading Cards that would've required him to transfer out of Alabama—a state where high school NIL deals remain off-limits. The decision to stay at Thompson was a headline-making moment, and it sent a clear message: Seaborn's long game matters more than any short-term paycheck.

Now, with nearly 30 college programs already showing interest and more offers expected in the coming months, Seaborn is on track to become one of the defining names of the 2027 recruiting cycle.
His return to Clemson—where he once shared a roster with former Warrior and current Tiger Peter Woods—only adds intrigue. With the Tigers seeking a long-term answer at quarterback in the post Klubnik era, eyes will be on how Seaborn performs under the watch of Swinney and offensive coordinator Garrett Riley in June.
And whether Clemson makes a move—or someone else does—it's clear Trent Seaborn's recruitment is about to go full throttle.

Top Steelers NFL draft prospect LaNorris Sellers passes up huge NIL deal
The top priority of the Pittsburgh Steelers scouting staff this college football season is to sort out what is already shaping up to be an elite quarterback class for the 2026 NFL draft. Thanks to the ridiculous nature of NIL money, the NFL now has another aspect of players to track and that's their loyalty to their team as opposed to making fast money in college football. One of the top quarterback prospects in the upcoming draft is LaNorris Sellers out of South Carolina. News came out about Sellers this week and thanks to some intervention by his dad, Sellers chose to pass up $8 million over two years in NIL money to stay. According to Sellers' dad, there were multiple schools bidding for his services, but he showed maturity and loyalty by staying, which is a huge green flag for an NFL team. Advertisement From a football standpoint, Sellers is poised for a huge breakout season. His athleticism and mobility are already off the charts and as the season progressed, we saw his pocket presence and processing speed improve drastically down the stretch. Sellers and Clemson's Cade Klubnik are my top two options for the Steelers and this move by Sellers just helps his case. Texas A&M Star WR Boosts NIL Valuation in 2025
Texas A&M Star WR Boosts NIL Valuation in 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Texas A&M's biggest offseason win for 2025 is the addition of former NC State wide receiver KC Concepcion, a dynamic playmaker expected to immediately become the Aggies' top offensive threat. With the departure of Ainais Smith to the NFL, Texas A&M lacked a true No. 1 receiver until Concepcion stepped in. Advertisement Known for his explosiveness after the catch, he averaged over 11 yards per reception during his standout 2023 season. Though his production dipped in 2024, the arrival of new offensive coordinator Collin Klein could reignite his performance in College Station. According to On3's Pete Nakos, he has already secured $2.5 million in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals, which bring to light both his talent and market appeal. His transfer also comes at a pivotal time, following the House v. NCAA settlement that allows Power Five programs to share over $20 million annually with athletes. Over two seasons at NC State, Concepcion tallied 1,299 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, plus 356 rushing yards and two scores, showcasing his versatility. His presence gives starting quarterback Marcel Reed a reliable and electric target, significantly elevating Texas A&M's offensive potential for the 2025 season.
