Steelers OLB Alex Highsmith admits rotating spots with T.J. Watt is much-needed change
T.J. Watt may be absent from OTAs — but that hasn't stopped Alex Highsmith from hinting at what's to come for the dangerous Steelers OLB duo.
Toward the end of the season, the Steelers defense became embarrassingly predictable — as Watt was practically made a non-factor from the LOLB position.
At Steelers OTAs, Highsmith admitted that rotating spots with Watt will be key moving forward (courtesy of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette):
"Yeah, I think [switching spots] is something we definitely got to include in the game, because, just like you said, teams were kind of catching on to what we were doing. If we're able to move around to different spots and stuff like that, we'll be able to get teams off balance — and they can't just sit there and max protect."
In reference to playing on opposite sides of the defensive line, Highsmith clarified that it's important to "get comfortable with what you're uncomfortable at."

FSU pitcher Jamie Arnold is going to be one of the first players taken in the 2025 MLB draft, it is just a matter of how early someone will draft him. Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo of think he will go quite early and have the Colorado Rockies selecting him with the No. 4 overall pick in their latest mock draft. The duo thinks Arnold's ceiling and floor combo makes him appealing to the Rockies. "The Rockies can get a really polished college pitcher who maybe doesn't have Seth Hernandez's incredible ceiling but still has a really high ceiling and a really high floor." Arnold had a strong junior season for the Seminoles, headlining their excellent starting rotation. He finished with an 8-2 record and a 2.98 ERA. In 84.2 innings, he recorded 119 strikeouts against 63 hits and 27 walks. He held opponents to a .208 batting average and has already made four All-American teams. If he is taken 4th overall, he would be the highest drafted Seminole since the Philadelphia Phillies took J.D. Drew with the 2nd overall pick in 1987. Arnold would also become the second-highest drafted pitcher in program history, with only Paul Wilson ahead of him. The 2025 MLB draft will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, and last from July 13-14. The Seminoles had two first-round picks last year in James Tibbs III and Cam Smith. Will former Wisconsin star Chucky Hepburn be selected in the 2025 NBA draft?
All-American wing John Tonje isn't the only now-former Badger hoping to hear his name called during the 2025 NBA draft. Former Wisconsin star point guard Chucky Hepburn, who played his final collegiate season at Louisville, is among a large group of players currently on the outside looking in of two-round mock draft projections. Remember, there will only be 59 selections this year (instead of 60) after the New York Knicks were forced to forfeit their second-round pick. More specifically, CBSSports slots Hepburn just outside of its top 59 -- it has the veteran point guard at No. 77 in its latest NBA draft top 100 player ranking. Hepburn's stock is trending positively after a strong performance at the G League Elite Camp last month. He's looking to validate a breakout senior season with the Cardinals, which included 16.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game, plus shooting totals of 43% from the field, 33% from 3 and 84.4% from the free-throw line. Hepburn has worked out for the Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets, according to RookieWire's Cody Taylor. While the 6-foot-2 point guard is currently slotted outside of the draft's two rounds, he appears to be a prime candidate to sign as an undrafted free agent. He'd then need a standout summer league and preseason to play his way onto an NBA roster. The former Badger brings a rare combination of excellence on the defensive end and as a floor general to the table. If he can't make an NBA roster immediately out of college, productive seasons in the G League or overseas could lead to a promotion. The NBA draft will be held on Wednesday (first round) and Thursday (second round) of this week. Hepburn appears to have a long shot chance to hear his name called during Thursday's second round. Tight end target Luke Sorensen commits to Nebraska football over Ole Miss
A four-star tight end recruit has announced his commitment to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Luke Sorensen chose the Huskers over finalists Ole Miss and Penn State. Sorensen plays tight end for Servite High School out of Anaheim, California. It should be no surprise that the tight end chose Nebraska. The recruit recently told On3 that Nebraska's offensive scheme is attractive to him. Advertisement 'Nebraska is another school I like a lot. I think Dylan Raiola is a great quarterback and I like the offense they run too. I see a great opportunity to play there too. In their tight end room, I feel I could make an impact. It is Big Ten football, so they are looking for bigger tight ends like me.' In 11 games last season, Sorensen had 15 receptions for 183 yards and two touchdowns. The tight end is the sixth recruit for the Nebraska class of 2026. The Huskers have made the tight end position a priority on the recruiting trail and in their offensive scheme. With talent like Heinrich Haarberg, Luke Lindenmeyer, and Carter Nelson already on the roster, it should be no surprise that Nebraska would want to add to that depth via recruiting.
