Disney+ deal cuts subscription price to £1.99 - but you'll need to act fast

Disney+ has reintroduced a highly sought-after streaming deal, offering subscriptions for £1.99. The streaming giant has launched a 'limited-time promotion' that provides a 60% saving compared to the regular price.
The offer lets new and returning customers subscribe to Disney+ Standard with Ads for £1.99 a month, a deal which will last for four months. Ordinarily, this would amount to £19.96 in total, but it's currently available for only £7.96 – a saving of £12.
However, this bargain won't be available indefinitely and is set to finish on June 30. Following the four-month promotional period, Disney+ Standard with Ads will automatically renew at the prevailing monthly retail price unless cancelled.
This deal puts Disney+ as the cheapest big streaming site, even when compared to the lowest subscription tiers of Netflix (£5.99), Amazon's Prime Video (£5.99) and Apple TV+ (£8.99). The timing of this offer coincides with an exciting summer schedule of new and returning films and series, headlined by the Disney blockbuster Snow White, which is currently available for streaming.
Other releases slated for this summer include Marvel's Ironheart (June 25), season four of The Bear (June 26) and the new prequel series Alien: Earth (August 13). These additions will further enrich an already extensive library featuring recent hits and critically acclaimed series such as Andor, Welcome to Wrexham, Rivals, Only Murders in the Building and Shōgun, reports the Mirror.
For £1.99, subscribers can access a wealth of entertaining content, including Stolen Girl, Good American Family, and the second season of the hit reality show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. While some may worry about ads disrupting their viewing experience, Disney+ has limited commercials to an average of less than four minutes per hour, fewer than traditional TV broadcasts.
Additionally, ads are only shown before a movie begins, not during the actual screening. Those willing to commit to a full year upfront on the Standard or Premium plan will essentially receive two months free.
By opting for an annual subscription, users can enjoy 12 months of access for the price of 10, saving up to £25.98 in the process.
This upgrade also includes superior video quality, with up to 4K UHD and HDR, as well as the ability to stream on four devices at once. Members of Disney+ have expressed their satisfaction with the service on Trustpilot, with one reviewer stating: "Offering a fantastic and constantly updated collection."
Another fan raved about the addition of new content, stating: "I love Disney+. I'm a Star Wars and Marvel fan but since the addition of Starz it boosted my love, there's even more content for adults now that's worth it all round."
However, this same reviewer felt the service fell slightly short, commenting: "The only reason it didn't get five stars is Disney are not using their other brands in the subscription. If they did this, it could easily be the best subscription service ever, but there is much more content locked behind their own service."
Yet another glowing five-star review reads: "Good servers, good services, this nostalgia when watching old cartoons from TV. The subscription is really cheap compared to other streaming services."

We bought an abandoned Italian mansion for half of the asking price, it looks like a palace but there's a major downside

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A COUPLE shared a glimpse into the abandoned Italian mansion they purchased for less than half the asking price. And while the stunning property was definitely a steal, they revealed one major downside to their plans. Their latest purchase is an "abandoned Italian palace" which hasn't been inhabited in 40 years. The couple have been documenting their rennovation work on the 14-bedroom space, amassing eight million views on one of their clips. "When I was younger, I would have dreamed of a place like this," Jordan told his followers, revealing that features such as the property's armoury immediately sold him. Now, the pair plan to convert the 16th-century Italian palace into a private residence, reports People. They have been working to renovate various properties together since 2018, eventually leading them to their most restoration yet. Their new estate was built sometime in the 1500s and has over 21,500 square feet of living space. With years of experience navigating Italy's real estate market, the couple were able to negotiate the purchase price down to roughly half the original listing. They revealed that they ultimately paid the equivalent of £557,000 for the property, plus additional fees and taxes. The pair are now focused on clearing out the vast spaces and salvaging what they can. Inside Ireland's 'magical' Disney castle with fairytale tower on sale for €7.5MILLION and it's minutes from the beach However, the long-abandoned property comes with one major drawback. They revealed that they have had to deal with "decades of decay" in their efforts to do up the space. But there are significantly more pros than cons with this property, as well as being a steal with magnificent views of the Italian countryside, it remarkably also has functional plumbing. While the current plan is to convert the space into a private property, the couple are remaining flexible and allowing for the possibility of opening one wing to guests as a vacation rental. They added that they are also considering opening parts of the palace for events such as weddings. 5 Tips to Get on The Property Ladder Saving for your first property is tough, but it is possible. Here are a few steps for first-time buyers. 1. Cut back on luxuries and start saving Consistent monthly saving is the best way to accumulate enough money to get on the ladder, for a deposit and purchase fees. To do this, you need to take a look at your monthly outgoings and think about what can be cut out - holidays, new clothes, weekly takeaway. Using a savings calculator can help you to establish how long you will need to save for a deposit. Based on your income, you can figure out a realistic amount to save each month. 2. Have a realistic property search Set a budget for the property price you would like to buy, and think realistically about the location and size of your property. While we all may want that house with a view or extra bedroom, can you afford it? 3. Research Help To Buy and Shared Ownership schemes The government has introduced a few ways to help first-time-buyers get on the property ladder and they're great for those on lower incomes or to buy a property in more expensive areas like London. 4. Consider buying with another person Investing with somebody else you know is a sure way to get onto the property ladder. You only need to save half the amount you would otherwise, so you can work towards getting your property sooner. You can invest with a friend, family or partner. Naturally, it is a big step and a huge commitment so be open and honest about what you expect from living together — if you haven't already. 5. Talk to a mortgage broker and get your documents in order A mortgage broker can tell you exactly how much you can borrow for a mortgage, what you will need to pay monthly and in upfront costs. The vast property has an array of indoor-outdoor spaces, a favourite feature for the couple. These include several verandas, loggias, and panoramic atriums offering exposure to the Italian sun throughout the day. TikTok users shared their thoughts on the stunning property in the comments section. "This has SO MUCH potential as not only a home but also a wedding venue," wrote one viewer. "I've never been so jealous in my entire life," said another impressed follower. "People are really out there living my dream," commented a third person.

It follows an American media mogul (played by Thurman) whose son is kidnapped and the ensuing cat-and-mouse game to find out what's happened. The series was originally released on Apple TV+ back in 2022, but ITV has acquired it to show on terrestrial TV. The official synopsis for Suspicion reads: "When the son of a prominent American businesswoman (Thurman) is kidnapped from a New York hotel, the eye of suspicion quickly falls on four seemingly ordinary British citizens who were at the hotel on the night in question. "As they find themselves in a trans-Atlantic cat and mouse race to evade the combined forces of the National Crime Agency and the FBI to prove their innocence, it becomes apparent that not everyone can be trusted. "Who is really behind the mysterious abduction, and who is only guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time?" The Radio Times adds: "However, it is worth noting that the series was cancelled after its premiere season, so those looking for more may have to manage their expectations."
