Juventus ‘ready to hijack Arsenal and Man Utd move for Viktor Gyokeres' and will sell EIGHT players to finance transfer
JUVENTUS have emerged as a shock candidate to hijack Viktor Gyokeres' transfer to the Premier League, reports suggest.
The Swede is one of the most sought-after strikers on the planet after scoring 97 goals across the last two seasons for Sporting Lisbon and firing them to back-to-back league titles.

With the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United both looking to boost their firepower during the summer, it seemed to have put the Viking on a course for England.
However, according to Corriere dello Sport, Italian giants Juventus want to sign the 27-year-old to make a statement.
The report states Sporting are asking for £60million plus £8m in bonuses to sell Gyokeres, although that contradicts previous rumours indicating his release clause actually sat as high as £85m.
To finance this, the Serie A club have identified EIGHT names they will look to offload this summer to fund their spending spree.
Most notably, this includes Serbia ace Dusan Vlahovic, who scored 15 goals for Juventus last season.
The Bianconeri ranked seventh in the league last season for goals scored, and club chiefs believe Gyokeres can be the solution to their problems.
Another high-profile name on the chopping block is former Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz, who ultimately became a squad player following his arrival last summer.
The club want around £51m for the pair, considered surplus to requirements by coach Igot Tudor, who replaced the sacked Thiago Motta in March after just 10 months in charge.
Also in this list is goalkeeper Mattia Perin, defenders Lloyd Kelly and Daniele Rugani, wingers Filip Kostić and Samuel Mbangula, and forward Arkadiusz Milik.
This being said, they are with the Italian side for their participation in the Club World Cup in the United States ahead of their first match against Al Ain on Thursday.
Viktor Gyokeres responds as he is asked if he 'likes London' amid Arsenal transfer links
But even if they fail to land Gyokeres, other options are being considered, including Jonathan David, Mateo Retegui and Victor Osimhen.
Gyokeres had rejected a move to Man Utd to reunite with Ruben Amorim, according to Portuguese media, which had paved the way for Arsenal to land Mikel Arteta 's first pure No.9.
Following talks with his agent, Arsenal submitted two bids of £55m and £60m for the striker, but saw both rejected by Sporting.
And after growing frustrated at the saga, the Gunners have parked those plans to re-open their enquiries into Aston Villa and England star Ollie Watkins.
Arsenal previously bid for Watkins in January, but the late nature of the move in the window and it falling short of Villa's £80m valuation at the time saw the approach slapped down.

Liverpool could use two players to produce amazing transfer swap deal
Liverpool have already made big moves in the transfer market this summer and confirmed Florian Wirtz's arrival at Anfield on Friday but more major deals could await Liverpool have dominated the summer transfer window thus far. They've completed the biggest deal so far in securing Florian Wirtz's signature and could pay up to £116million for the privilege. And the Reds have also completed one of the most notable deals too by bringing in £10m for Trent Alexander-Arnold. The full-back moved to Real Madrid just weeks before his contract at Anfield was set to expire. But, according to reports in Italy, Liverpool could yet be involved in another mega deal. Arne Slot's side are said to still be interested in a striker and that could provoke some big movement. The Reds have been linked to moves for Newcastle star Alexander Isak and Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike and neither player would come cheap. But some creativity could make a move for another striker possible. Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web claim Liverpool have made a proposal to Napoli for Victor Osimhen. The Serie A champions are keen to offload the Nigeria international after failing to sell him last summer and the Merseyside club may have come up with a solution for everyone. The Reds are reported to have offered up Darwin Nunez and Federcio Chiesa in exchange for the 26-year-old who starred on loan at Galatasaray in 2024/25. Osimhen has also been linked with Manchester United in addition and is said to have snubbed a move to Al-Hilal. Darwin is expected to leave Anfield this summer as he goes in search of greater playing time, while Chiesa has been told by new Italy boss Gennaro Gattuso that he must play more frequently to be part of his plans. 'In these days, I called 35 players [who did not make the squad], I spoke to everyone,' Gattuso said earlier this week. 'Even Chiesa, whom I told to play consistently. "There are players who have been out but who can lend a hand. The pitch speaks: if you do things well, the doors of the national team are open." Swap deals rarely move as smoothly however with so many moving parts beyond simply agreeing a deal. And it has been suggested that Osimhen may in fact be waiting for United to make their own move. Rio Ferdinand told his Rio Presents YouTube channel: 'No.9? They already know who I want. The comments know, the people know who I want, who I would go and get: Osimhen! 'It looks like he's turned down Al-Hilal… he must be waiting for Manchester United. I don't know if Manchester United are going to come. That's the problem.' Tudor dismisses end-of-season fatigue narrative, Juventus primed for Club World Cup challenge
PHILADELPHIA, June 21 (Reuters) - Juventus manager Igor Tudor played down suggestions that his team are showing signs of end-of-season fatigue, insisting his players are motivated and ready to compete as they prepare to face Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca in the Club World Cup on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. Juventus opened their campaign with an emphatic 5-0 victory over UAE's Al Ain, and a win against Wydad would secure their progression to the next stage. Such a result would set up a highly anticipated Group G showdown with Manchester City on Thursday, likely to determine the group winners. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Tudor said he sees no signs of lethargy in his squad. "I don't see any signs of fatigue in the team; on the contrary, I see a lot of enthusiasm," he said. "It's a pleasure to see them enjoying playing together. They started the last match like it was a final. There's more confidence in them now, not just a little but a lot more. They're enjoying what we're building together, and that's a fantastic thing." Tudor, who took over in March following the dismissal of Thiago Motta, has overseen a remarkable turnaround at the Turin club. Juventus were floundering outside the Serie A top four and had been eliminated from all cup competitions when Tudor arrived. However, under his guidance, the team suffered just one further league defeat, finishing fourth to secure Champions League qualification. Reflecting on his tenure thus far, Tudor expressed pride in his players' professionalism and commitment. "I have great professionals who've been available from the first day to the last," he said. "There's been a lot of work behind the scenes, but we've also developed a better understanding of the game and what I ask of them as a coach." Despite the strong start in the Club World Cup, Tudor urged his squad to remain focused. "Juventus should be ambitious, but we must stay humble and work hard with our heads down," he said. "I always tell the players to focus on training and take each match as it comes. Maybe I bore them by saying it, but that's the mindset we need." Juventus' clash with Wydad Casablanca will be a key test of their progress under Tudor, with the Italian side looking to maintain momentum ahead of the knockout stages of the tournament.

Santi Cazorla scores in playoff as Real Oviedo end 24-year wait for La Liga return
Real Oviedo sealed their return to La Liga after 24 years with a 3-2 aggregate victory over Mirandés – and 40-year-old Santi Cazorla was among the scorers. Oviedo triumphed 3-1 at home in Saturday's promotion playoff, overturning a first-leg deficit with goals from Cazorla, Ilyas Chaira and Francisco Portillo. A packed Estadio Carlos Tartiere erupted as fans stormed the pitch at the final whistle. Cazorla started his career in Oviedo's youth team, joining at the age of eight and watching his heroes: Carlos Munoz, Slavisa Jokanovic, Robert Prosinecki and Petr Dubovsky. A decade later he had to leave against his will amid a financial crisis at the club. He went on to star with Villarreal, Arsenal and Spain but returned to his boyhood club two years ago, vowing: 'I would play for free but you're not allowed.' He scored the decisive goal in the playoff semi-final against Almería from a free-kick and has now completed the fairytale by firing his boyhood club back into the big time. Cazorla scored from the penalty spot in the first half of the second leg after Joaquin Panichelli's goal had given Mirandés a two-goal lead in the two-legged affair. Chair's second-half strike took the tie to extra time and two minutes before the break in the extra half an hour, Portillo hit the winner to send the home fans wild. The club from Asturias, in the north-west of Spain, will join Levante and Elche in next season's top tier, replacing relegated Leganés, Las Palmas and Valladolid. Oviedo's coach, Veljko Paunovic, told La Liga TV: 'There's no way to describe what this means to us. These players are heroes, every single one of them. They deserve great recognition.'
