In recent days there was talk of interest from American MLS clubs, but in reality the Uzbek is close to moving to Turkey.
In fact, according to Turkish journalist Yagiz Subuncuoglu, Istanbul Basaksehir have presented an official offer to the Giallorossi.

With the departure of the striker, the Giallorossi will have to act on the market to find a suitable replacement for Gian Piero Gasperini.

Everton transfers and contracts: What we're hearing on Branthwaite, Gueye and Barry
There is an early sense of deja vu about Everton's summer window. Once again, defender Jarrad Branthwaite is dominating the headlines. A year ago, Manchester United tried to take advantage of the Merseyside club's fraught financial position, submitting two bids for Branthwaite considerably below Everton's asking price of around £75million. Advertisement Speculation over a potential move has persisted this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur the most strongly linked. But Everton have taken a more bullish approach over Branthwaite. Where there was an acceptance last summer that they would have to sell if the right offer came in, The Athletic reported this month that the club had informed interested suitors of their desire to keep hold of the England international. From there, the logical direction of travel was always going to involve discussions over a new deal. Everton are well protected when it comes to the 22-year-old. He has two years remaining on his contract, plus a club option for a third. But his situation is atypical. He signed his last deal in the autumn of 2023, just as he was cementing a regular first-team berth. The Carlisle United academy graduate is a key player now, but not one of Everton's top earners. In that sense, there is a disconnect. The club have now informed him of their desire not only to retain his services this summer, but offer new terms. Discussions have taken place but remain at an exploratory stage. This has become a key issue for new owners The Friedkin Group, manager David Moyes and CEO Angus Kinnear. It is notable, for example, that they have taken initial tentative steps to tie Branthwaite down at a time when others, such as vice-captain James Tarkowski, midfielder James Garner and left-back Vitalii Mykolenko are soon to go into the final 12 months of their deals. They want to build around Branthwaite and would see his retention in the face of interest as a show of intent. Equally, they will not want to be seen to climb down from their position. Their hand would be further strengthened should they manage to agree fresh terms, but even then, it would be a surprise if interest did not persist. What comes next will be fascinating and tell us much about whether TFG is able to turn positive intent into something more tangible. Everton have made their first signing of the summer by triggering loanee Carlos Alcaraz's €15m purchase option. He will join officially at the end of the month. Yet most of the intrigue, out of necessity, has involved those soon to be out of contract. Club captain Seamus Coleman, midfield stalwart Idrissa Gueye, striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Michael Keane all see their deals expire at the end of the month. Advertisement An offer has been made to Coleman, while talks have continued with Gueye. Everton have been reluctant to offer the Senegal international a multi-year contract, with an initial one-year extension containing the option for an additional 12 months the direction of travel. Gueye is one of the high earners and will be 36 in September, even if he has shown little sign of slowing down. There has been confidence at Everton over a new deal, but it is still to be agreed or signed. With a squad rebuild to come, they will hope to avoid another headache in midfield. Largely through new head of trading Nick Hammond and manager Moyes, Everton have remained in contact with the representatives of Keane and Calvert-Lewin. New deals for either have not been completely ruled out, but Keane has interest from clubs in England's top two leagues as well as MLS. He is expected to want a multi-year deal. Sources, speaking on condition of anonymity to protect relationships, suggest that the most likely outcome with Calvert-Lewin remains a departure. Talks up to now have not yielded much progress, with the club keen to remain disciplined in their negotiating position. The 28-year-old is likely to want a long-term deal on lucrative terms. The uncertainty there, together with Armando Broja's return to Chelsea, has increased the prospect of Everton dipping into the market for a striker. The Athletic was first to report interest in Villarreal's Thierno Barry this month and the 22-year-old remains a key target. Everton's pursuit of Barry is complicated by his participation at the Under-21 European Championship with France, plus a lofty release clause set at €40m. The club would prefer to negotiate with Villarreal rather than trigger that clause. Moyes continues to play an active role in the recruitment process and has taken in Club World Cup games from his Miami base. Advertisement Everton continue to assess targets and sound out their availability, but due to the overhaul behind the scenes and lingering profit and sustainability rule considerations, this was always likely to be a window in which the bulk of the business came later. Liverpool 'drops' $80M Darwin Nunez asking price as Napoli wants transfer
Liverpool has reportedly dropped its asking price for Darwin Nunez, and would accept a fee of around €50 million ($58 million) plus add-ons for the Uruguayan striker. Nunez is widely expected to leave Liverpool this summer, three years on from a big-money transfer from Benfica. Liverpool knocked back approaches for Nunez from clubs in Saudi Arabia during the January transfer window, but there remains a strong market for the Reds' No. 9 during the ongoing summer window. LAFC 0 Espérance de Tunis 1: MLS side out of Club World Cup after Bouanga PK miss
LAFC won its way into the FIFA Club World Cup in thrilling fashion three weeks ago, but after just two matches in MLS stadiums on the global stage, its elimination has been confirmed with barely a whimper and a moment of complete catastrophe. LAFC became the second club to be ousted from the 32-team field after falling to Tunisia's Espérance de Tunis 1-0 in a sparsely attended contest at Nashville SC's Geodis Park Friday night. Auckland City, by virtue of lopsided losses to Bayern Munich and Benfica, was first to go earlier in the day, but LAFC players joined their semipro New Zealand brethren after losses to Chelsea and Espérance in which they totaled zero goals. Advertisement LAFC had a chance to stave off the ax at the death, when VAR granted a penalty deep into stoppage time after a foul in the box, but Denis Bouanga, whose extra-time heroics against Club América punched LAFC's ticket to the competition in the first place, had his spot kick saved, cementing the embarrassing result. There's still a match against the impressive Brazilian side Flamengo in which LAFC can save a bit of face, but otherwise it risks bowing out as MLS's least impressive entrant in the competition. Here The Athletic's Felipe Cardenas breaks down the key moments and talking points. It was the lifeline that LAFC needed. It was the opportunity that Denis Bouanga was waiting for. A VAR review awarded LAFC with a penalty in second half stoppage time with a chance to tie the game. A draw would have been enough to at least keep LAFC alive in the Club World Cup. If LAFC fans wanted anyone to be a hero at this tournament, the French-born winger was the ideal choice. Bounaga entered the tournament in fine form. His game-winning goal vs. América had journalists in Mexico raving about LAFC's cunning star. So of course, it was Bouanga who stepped up to take the penalty. Only the long-armed Bechir Ben Saïd, Espérance's acrobatic goalkeeper, stood in his way. Bounga smashed the ball across his body, but Ben Saïd, despite diving in the opposite direction, saved the shot with his outstretched legs. Cherundolo has won in Los Angeles, including an MLS Cup final in 2022, a Supporters' Shield that same season, and the U.S. Open Cup in 2024. But his conservative style of play divided the fan base. LAFC burst onto the MLS scene in 2019 with a high-tempo style of play under Bob Bradley that captivated the league. Advertisement With Carlos Vela scoring at will and featuring a celebrity-backed ownership group, LAFC quickly became one of the more popular and attractive MLS clubs. LAFC couldn't win the big game until Cherundolo arrived, but it did so after he dialed-back its all-out attacking style. Conservative play became the club's identity, which clashed with its original ethos. Over two matches at the Club World Cup, LAFC was blanked by Chelsea and now a Tunisian side. Bouanga looked a shell of himself, and the absence of a clinical No. 9 was evident, with French great Olivier Giroud not able to deliver in a rare start. LAFC's first shot on target didn't even come until four minutes into second-half stoppage time. LAFC still has trophies to play for in MLS, but bowing out of the Club World Cup after two games is a blemish on Cherundolo's accomplishments and the achievement of having gotten to play in the competition to begin with. After Auckland City was punished with an imaginary penalty call earlier Friday against Benfica (Auckland ended up losing 6-0), history nearly repeated itself in Nashville. Bouanga appeared to tangle with Espérance attacker Youcef Belaili inside the LAFC penalty area. Norwegian referee Espen Eskås called a penalty but later overturned the call after reviewing the play using VAR. 'Number 11 went down too easily,' Eskås told the Geodis Park onlookers. Bouanga got away with that act but has otherwise been a shadow of his former self at this tournament. His heroics during the play-in match provided the Gabon international with an opportunity to show the world why he's considered one of the best players in MLS. He was contained against Chelsea, despite a few solid chances on goal, and against the Tunisian side on Friday, Bouanga simply couldn't get going – and ultimately failed to deliver with a chance to keep his team nominally alive. Youcef Belaili was chastised by the referee after a blatant dive inside the LAFC box, and he pleaded his case, unsuccessfully, as play carried on. Nearly 20 minutes later, though, Belaili sliced through the LAFC defense, froze defender Aaron Long with a left-foot feint, then finished with his right foot, his shot going through Hugo Lloris' legs. The Algerian international was a constant dangerman for Espérance throughout the night. It initially appeared as though his lone 'highlight' would be an embarrassing yellow card for simulation. But sport is about the next play. Belaili took his chance well and scored the goal that Espérance fans will remember for years to come.
