Michigan football set for a key 2026 safety prospect visit on June 20 during Victors Weekend
The Wolverines have been steadily looking at prospects from two regions in the 2026 recruiting cycle: the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area and the South (primarily Georgia and Florida). The thing about the latter is that it tends to produce high-level prospects, even those who aren't the highest-rated, due to the density of top-tier high school players.
On June 20, Michigan football will hold its biggest recruiting weekend of the year, deemed 'Victors Weekend,' when the most-coveted recruits make their way to Ann Arbor in hopes that the maize and blue can close as many as possible. One prospect from the South is set to make his way to campus that weekend, highlighting just how much the Wolverines like his talent.
Blake Stewart top four, official visits
According to On3, 2026 Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy safety Blake Stewart has set four official visits, including Michigan football on June 20. but will also see Clemson on May 30, Vanderbilt on June 6, and Miami on June 13.
Stewart is listed highest on Rivals, which has him as a four-star at No. 148 overall. ESPN also has him listed as a four-star as do the two composite rankings from 247Sports and On3. However, both of the latter in their proprietary rankings, list Stewart as a three-star.
LaMar Morgan is the primary recruiter for the 6-foot, 175-pound safety. The Wolverines had a solid haul last cycle bringing in three four-stars at the position in Kainoa Winston, Elijah Dotson, and Jordan Young.

A perfect example to illustrate McCarthy's efficiency is that he completed over 72% of his passes during his final season with the Wolverines. When Michigan needed him to throw the ball, he did. Still, people that just look at his yardage totals aren't sold. 'A lot of [the public doubt] just comes with the stigma of playing at Michigan and not throwing the ball a lot,' McCarthy said, according to an article from ESPN. 'But at the same time, it could be my frame. They don't see a 6-5, 240-[pound] guy, so how can you throw at 61 miles an hour at the combine? But at the end of the day, it's going to show up and the people that know, know.' One thing that JJ McCarthy is definitely not lacking is confidence. He has always known that he has the ability to be successful, and he has never worried about what other people think of him. He just performs and wins. The Vikings selected JJ McCarthy because they thought that he had the potential to be their next franchise QB. Oregon Football QB target Bryson Beaver named biggest stock-riser at Elite 11 Finals
The Oregon Ducks are working hard in the recruiting world when it comes to the quarterback position, pushing hard on a pair of prospects in the 2026 class: 5-star Ryder Lyons and 4-star Bryson Beaver. The former is a highly-touted prospect who the Ducks are going to have to try hard to win away from the BYU Cougars when he announces his commitment in a few days. However, Oregon got in early on the latter with an offer before his recruitment started to take off a couple of weeks ago, and it appears that it is paying off. Beaver participated in the Elite 11 Finals this past week down in Los Angeles and was named the No. 3 performer in what is being described as one of the best crops of QBs the camp has seen in quite some time. On top of that, On3 has now declared that Beaver is the biggest stock-riser from the bunch, with the distinction of "strongest arm" coming out of the camp. "Beaver looked like one of the more talented prospects on hand," On3's Charles Power writes. "We felt his arm took a backseat to nobody in attendance. The Southern California native has explosive arm power that effortlessly delivers from multiple slots and platforms. ... Currently a four-star prospect for On3, Beaver is primed to debut inside the inaugural Rivals300 ranking in July." It's been quite an eventful two weeks for Beaver in the recruiting world. Rated a three-star commit to the Boise State Broncos over a week ago, Beaver has since seen his rating rise to a four-star after being offered by the Ducks. He has taken a couple of visits to SEC schools after receiving offers from the Ole Miss Rebels and Alabama Crimson Tide. He is also in Eugene this weekend for an official visit, and is now predicted to land with the Ducks according to a new Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports' Blair Angulo. The Ducks are also hosting 4-star QB Matt Ponatoski on a visit this weekend, with the expectation that they likely will be getting a commitment from one of them. At the moment, there is a belief that Ponatoski could get selected in the MLB draft as a top high school prospect this summer, which might lead to him never taking a snap in college football. That may lead to the Ducks prioritizing Beaver, who is among the fastest-rising QB prospects in the nation.
