Oregon Football QB target Bryson Beaver named biggest stock-riser at Elite 11 Finals
The Oregon Ducks are working hard in the recruiting world when it comes to the quarterback position, pushing hard on a pair of prospects in the 2026 class: 5-star Ryder Lyons and 4-star Bryson Beaver.
The former is a highly-touted prospect who the Ducks are going to have to try hard to win away from the BYU Cougars when he announces his commitment in a few days. However, Oregon got in early on the latter with an offer before his recruitment started to take off a couple of weeks ago, and it appears that it is paying off.
Beaver participated in the Elite 11 Finals this past week down in Los Angeles and was named the No. 3 performer in what is being described as one of the best crops of QBs the camp has seen in quite some time. On top of that, On3 has now declared that Beaver is the biggest stock-riser from the bunch, with the distinction of "strongest arm" coming out of the camp.
"Beaver looked like one of the more talented prospects on hand," On3's Charles Power writes. "We felt his arm took a backseat to nobody in attendance. The Southern California native has explosive arm power that effortlessly delivers from multiple slots and platforms. ... Currently a four-star prospect for On3, Beaver is primed to debut inside the inaugural Rivals300 ranking in July."
It's been quite an eventful two weeks for Beaver in the recruiting world. Rated a three-star commit to the Boise State Broncos over a week ago, Beaver has since seen his rating rise to a four-star after being offered by the Ducks. He has taken a couple of visits to SEC schools after receiving offers from the Ole Miss Rebels and Alabama Crimson Tide. He is also in Eugene this weekend for an official visit, and is now predicted to land with the Ducks according to a new Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports' Blair Angulo.
The Ducks are also hosting 4-star QB Matt Ponatoski on a visit this weekend, with the expectation that they likely will be getting a commitment from one of them. At the moment, there is a belief that Ponatoski could get selected in the MLB draft as a top high school prospect this summer, which might lead to him never taking a snap in college football. That may lead to the Ducks prioritizing Beaver, who is among the fastest-rising QB prospects in the nation.

Son of Oregon Ducks Legend Sends Shockwaves With Commitment to Rival Program
Son of Oregon Ducks Legend Sends Shockwaves With Commitment to Rival Program originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Just over 30 years ago, Oregon Ducks cornerback Kenny Wheaton sent shockwaves through the entire city of Eugene with his pick-six that won the game for Oregon against the rival Washington Huskies in the 1994 season. Advertisement Now, it is Wheaton's son, Kai, who is sending shockwaves through Eugene, but for different reasons. On Wednesday afternoon, Kai Wheaton announced that he would be committing to the school up north, the Oregon State Beavers, joining his dad's alma mater's biggest rival. Wheaton is rated as a 3-star commit who is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 1,218 player in the 2026 class. With the addition of Wheaton, Oregon State now has the No. 72 class in the 2026 cycle. Meanwhile, Oregon has its sites set on some bigger fish, with all due respect to Wheaton. Advertisement The Ducks are currently waiting to have commitments announced for 5-star S Jett Washington, 5-star CB Brandon Arrington, and 4-star CB Davon Benjamin, all of whom are strongly considering the Ducks, if not projected to pick Oregon in the end. The Ducks and Beavers play in Week 3 of the season this year, with Oregon State traveling down to Autzen Stadium for the matchup. Next year, when Wheaton is on campus and part of the team, the game will be played back up in Corvallis at Reeser Stadium. We'll have to see which school colors Kenny Wheaton is wearing in the stands. 5-Star QB Ryder Lyons Makes Major Recruiting Announcement
5-Star QB Ryder Lyons Makes Major Recruiting Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The world of college football recruiting tends to heat up in the month of June, and the next week is going to be something else for a handful of the top prospects left on the board. Advertisement One of those top prospects, 5-star quarterback Ryder Lyons, announced on Wednesday that he is set to make his commitment in the coming days, officially revealing where he is going to go on Tuesday, June 24th. Lyons is rated by 247Sports as the No. 13 player in the 2026 class, and the No. 4 quarterback. At this point, he is the top-ranked uncommitted QB in the nation. Folsom quarterback Ryder Lyons (3), who is taking a visit with the Oregon DucksJOE LUMAYA/SPECIAL TO THE STAR / USA TODAY NETWORK There is a feeling that the two leading teams in Lyons' recruitment are the Oregon Ducks and BYU Cougars. Lyons took an official visit to Eugene last weekend, and he is heading to see the Cougars this week. While his connection with Dan Lanning and Oregon OC Will Stein are strong, with a love for the Ducks' QB development and high-flying offense, there are religious ties to BYU, as Lyons is expected to take an LDS mission out of high school for a year before enrolling in school. Advertisement On top of that, multiple reports show that BYU is offering Lyons a massive NIL deal, in the ballpark of what Bryce Underwood made from the Michigan Wolverines, which was reported to be between $10-12 million. Whether Lyons chooses to go with the money, or with the winning culture and development is yet to be seen, but we won't have to wait long to figure out what the 5-star player is going to decide. College Football Program Called Out for Awful New Uniform Decision
College Football Program Called Out for Awful New Uniform Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Over the past decade or so, the Washington Huskies have held a solid place in the world of college football, putting together successful runs that led them to the College Football Playoff in 2016 and 2023, with a national championship appearance with Michael Penix just two years ago. Advertisement However, the Huskies didn't do themselves any favors this week. To celebrate the doldrums of the offseason, Washington unveiled their new uniforms for the 2025 season, and while some fans may be in favor of the changes, the college football world at large is not quite on board with the new threads. The new look isn't much different from Washington's old look, other than the stripe down the side of the pants that don't quite match the gold helmets, and a few other small details. One of the biggest groups of fans ragging on the Huskies for the uniforms are the Oregon Ducks, who know a thing or two about new jerseys. After unveiling their own set of brand new looks a year ago, Duck fans had some thoughts on Friday. In general, the biggest complaint from fans is that the new look differs very little from the old look. More than that, Duck fans had some fun with minor details of the jerseys, and what they represent. Advertisement "3 stripes on the pants to commemorate every yard Jonah Coleman rushed for against Oregon," one Duck fan commented. Ultimately, a lot of Washington fans weren't in love with the new jerseys, but they didn't hate them. Ultimately, they only have one thing that they care about going into the new season: winning. "These will need to be fixed in the future. For now, go win some football games," one Husky fan said.
