Sourav Ganguly's big warning for Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma before 2027 WC; ‘the game will go away…they will go away'
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly sounded unsure of the availability of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the 2027 ODI World Cup. While Kohli will be 38, Rohit will be approaching 40 by the time the ODI World Cup kicks off in South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
Both Kohli and Rohit have retired from the T20Is (after 2024 T20 World Cup) and Tests (last month) around same time. With either of them not playing domestic games even, it will be challenging for the Indian duo to keep up their fitness on level as international cricket demands.

This includes four gold medals, 10 silver medals and 13 bronze medals. India delivered a commanding performance at the Asia Para Badminton Championships 2025, held in Thailand from 17-22 June, showcasing the nation's growing dominance in para-badminton across multiple classifications. With medals in almost every category, the Indian contingent underlined both its depth and consistency at the continental level. One of the tournament's most thrilling encounters came in the men's doubles SL3-SL4 final, where Sukant Kadam and Nitesh Kumar battled past fellow Indians Jagadesh Dilli and Naveen Sivakumar in a gripping three-set match that ended 21-17 11-21 21-11. The bronze in the same category also went to India, with Mohammad Arwaz Ansari and Abhijeet Sakhuja stepping onto the podium, as per a press release. Reflecting on the tournament, Sukant Kadam said, "It was one of those finals where you have to dig deep and trust your training. The competition is getting stronger each year, and this gold is a result of staying focused on the small things that make a difference." In the mixed doubles SH6 event, Tokyo Paralympic gold medallist Krishna Nagar and his partner Nithya Sre gave it their all in a high-energy final against China's Lin Naili and Li Fengmei, narrowly missing the top spot and settling for silver after a 13-21, 21-19, 14-21 contest. Krishna also secured a bronze in men's singles SH6 and another in men's doubles SH6, where he partnered with Dhinagaran Pandurangan. We'll take the positives from here and keep building." India's women athletes also made their mark. Nithya Sre was among the standout performers, winning silver in women's singles SH6 and another silver in women's doubles SH6 alongside Rachana Shaileshkumar Patel. In the women's doubles SL3-SU5 category, Manasi Joshi and Thulasimathi Murgesan went down fighting in the final against China, while the bronze went to the pair of Mandeep Kaur and Manisha Ramdass. WATCH: Harry Brook, Mohammed Siraj engage in brief war of words during IND vs ENG 1st Test
England batter Harry Brook and India's Mohammed Siraj had a brief exchange of words in the middle when the Englishman was frustrating the Indian bowlers with his innings on Sunday. Brook would ultimately miss his century by 1 run, getting dismissed by Prasidh Krishna for 99 but the heated war of words with Siraj had the internet talking. The incident happened in the 5th ball of the 84th over when Brook tries to push forward but missed the ball and it hit his elbow, back thigh and rolled away. Brook looked back to see where the ball went and when he turned back to Siraj, he saw the bowler staring with the pair engaging ina bit of back and forth before normal services resumed. Earlier, Brook went on the offensive against an inconsistent Indian pace attack, taking England to 327 for five at lunch on day three of the first Test. 👀😯🗣️ Tensions rising in the middle!#MohammedSiraj and #HarryBrook in a fiery exchange as the heat is on at Headingley! 🔥#ENGvIND 1st Test Day 3 LIVE NOW Streaming on JioHotstar 👉 — Star Sports (@StarSportsIndia) June 22, 2025 Resuming at an overnight 209 for three, Brook (57 batting off 77) ensured that England scored at a brisk pace, totalling 118 runs in 28 overs. They still trail India by 144 runs. The visitors got two welcome wickets of overnight centurion Ollie Pope (106 off 137) and England captain Ben Stokes (20 off 52). Like day two, the trio of Krishna, Shardul Thakur and Siraj could not match the accuracy of Jasprit Bumrah. Brook, dismissed off a Bumrah no ball at the stroke of stumps on day two, was dropped by wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant on 46 shortly before lunch. Jadeja, who was able to extract sharp turn from the rough, got one to turn away sharply but Pant could not hold on to the rising ball. In the same over, Brook completed his 12th Test fifty, adding to the frustration of the Indians who have been sloppy with their catching thus far in the game. Led by captain Shubman Gill, the Indians were also very vocal about their issues with a worn out Dukes ball throughout the session. The umpires relented before the 75th over while the new ball will be due after 80 overs. The session belonged to the highly rated Brook who produced a display of audacious strokeplay from the get go. Krishna offered two loose balls in the first over of the day and Brook duly put them for a four through point and six off over mid-wicket. Brook's tactics against the pacers, including Bumrah, stood out as he charged down to them for aerial drives over extra cover. Krishna, in his following over, was lucky to get Pope out as the England number three edged a short and wide ball to the keeper. India's second success came after the first hour as Siraj had Stokes caught behind from round the wicket. (With agency inputs)

ENG vs IND: Harry Brook's luck runs out, dismissed for 99 in Leeds Test
Harry Brook's luck in Leeds finally ran out as the England star was dismissed on 99 during Day 3 of the first Test at Headingley on Sunday, June 22. Brook tried to get to his ninth hundred with a pull shot off Prasidh Krishna's bowling, but the ball went straight to Shardul Thakur, who was placed at the boundary. Brook already survived a couple of close calls during his knock that consisted of 11 boundaries and two sixes. The biggest one was on Day two when he was caught off Jasprit Bumrah's bowling, only for the Indian pacer to overstep. On Day three, Brook made the Indian bowlers pay for their mistakes. advertisementENG vs IND 1st Test Day 3 Updates The day started for England with the wicket of centurion Ollie Pope before captain Ben Stokes also edged one to Rishabh Pant off Mohammed Siraj's bowling. However, Brook looked to be solid as he took the attack to the bowlers, starting off by playing an expansive shot off Bumrah. He then got a boundary off Krishna to give momentum to his innings. Brook was troubled a bit by Ravindra Jadeja's spin but then survived a close call as he edged one that went over Rishabh Pant. He went into the lunch break at 57 and had Jamie Smith for support. Once Smith departed, Brook decided to go on the charge and started to play his shots as he was left with the tail. Jaiswal drops another one to give Brook lifelineadvertisementBrook was batting on 82 when he got another lucky break when he played a false shot and hit the ball straight to Jaiswal at gully. However, the Indian opener dropped another sitter as Shubman Gill and the rest of the fielders were left frustrated with Bumrah left in shock. Brook looked set to punish India more by hitting a six and a boundary off Siraj before strolling his way to 99. This is when disaster struck for Brook as he failed to get the proper connection to the ball and it went straight to the fielder.
