Calciomercato.com reports that Napoli are on the verge of sealing an agreement for Milinkovic-Savic for a fee of €18m.
However, even if Milinkovic-Savic comes in, that does not necessarily mean the end of Meret's time in Naples.

In fact, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli now have an agreement in place to extend Meret's contract for a further two seasons, until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
The two-time Scudetto winner is currently due to be out of contract on June 30.
The 28-year-old could sign his new contract extension with Napoli by the end of next week, according to Di Marzio's latest update.

Chivu hoping Inter Milan 'dominate' opposition at Club World Cup

Inter Milan's Romanian head coach Cristian Chivu said he would like his team to be able to dominate opponents eventually (Pablo PORCIUNCULA) Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu said he wants to forge a team that can dominate opponents ahead of their second Club World Cup clash against Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds on Saturday in Group E. The Italians, runners-up in this year's UEFA Champions League, were held to a surprise 1-1 draw by Mexican outfit Monterrey in their opening game at FIFA's new tournament on Tuesday. Advertisement Chivu, who took over from Simone Inzaghi after the Italian departed for Al-Hilal in the wake of the Champions League final loss to Paris Saint-Germain, said he would like a team that can take control of matches. "I think every coach would love a team that dominates because you need to show your technical ability, you need to show character and personality," explained the former Inter defender. "You need to show that you can dominate the ball, that you can set the tempo, that you can find solutions both when you are moving the ball from side to side and when you're playing a bit more direct. "That's the dream of all coaches, having the game by the scruff of the neck, controlling proceedings." Advertisement Chivu said it would be good if his team could start to show that against Urawa in Seattle, but accepted it might take a bit longer given his recent arrival at the club. "That's what we'd like to do in the near future, maybe even from tomorrow onwards, but even in the near future when we'll have a little bit more time to work on things in a certain way," the Romanian added. rbs/as

Fabrizio Romano confirms Serie A club Como 'have tried to sign' Man United's Antony 'in recent days'

Serie A outfit Serie A have made an attempt to sign Manchester United winger Antony over the past few days, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed. Antony failed to live up to the massive £86m fee United forked out to secure his services from Ajax in the summer of 2022. Advertisement He registered only 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances for the Red Devils, but a short loan stint with Real Betis in Spain seems to have reignited his form. Antony enjoyed a dramatic improvement in fortunes under Manuel Pellegrini, notching 14 goals contributions in 26 appearances – just five shy of his entire United tally in nearly a quarter of the time. The Brazilian has made no secret of his desire to continue with Betis, who are also working to try and agree a deal with United. Such is Antony's eagerness to return to Seville that he is reportedly willing to accept a 30% pay cut to make the move happen. Advertisement But Los Verdiblancos are not the only club eyeing Antony. He has also been linked to Juventus, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid. A report covered by The Peoples Person earlier this week relayed that Antony is also of interest to Premier League teams, with Brentford and Aston Villa having enquired about the conditions of a transfer. But, they were told that his top priority is Betis. Now, Romano has revealed that a new club has entered the fray for the 25-year-old, Como. Romano wrote on X, 'Italian side Como have tried to sign Antony in the recent days but Brazilian winger is giving priority to Real Betis return.' Advertisement 'Man United are also aware of Antony's preference to continue at Betis next season, no club to club agreement yet.' If United are unable to strike a compromise with Betis, then the Red Devils can rest assured that there will be no shortage of suitors for the forward. Antony is not thought to have a future at Old Trafford. There have even been suggestions that Ruben Amorim will not include him in the club's pre-season squad.
