Michigan football gains edge for 4-star CB in 2026 class after losing target to rival
Michigan football has one cornerback committed to the 2026 class in Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin four-star Brody Jennings. But his pledge has been tenuous, and the Wolverines have been looking to add multiple others to the class, whether he sticks or not.
The Wolverines lost out on Towson (Md.) Loyola Blakefield four-star Khary Adams to Notre Dame, but there's another who visited recently, with whom Michigan is in high regard.

Once thought to be an Ohio State lean (per On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine, Frisco (Tx.) Panther Creek four-star cornerback Donovan Webb has officially visited Ann Arbor earlier in the month, but also saw Texas Tech, Colorado, Kansas State, and LSU throughout the cycle. However, it appears that LaMar Morgan and company have done a good enough job that On3's Chad Simmons and EJ Holland have both put in predictions that he'll be wearing a winged helmet in the end.
The scouting report from 247Sports' Gabe Brooks:
Ultra-productive safety prospect with three-phase playmaking experience. Volume tackler with passing game impact as well, as evidenced by consecutive 100-tackle seasons and nine INTs/19 breakups across soph-junior campaigns. Displays impressive athleticism as a return game threat (two TDs as a junior). Ballhawk who looks for the big play. Shows some open-field speed-building ability. Also runs track. Plays a hyper-competitive style. Testing and track data suggest room to improve top-end speed. Can get too physical/handsy at times in coverage. Projects as a high-major safety with possible role versatility depending on down-and-distance situations. Could become a multi-year starter with the instincts and production that suggest potential beyond college.
Webb is set to make his decision final in relatively short order, with his commitment date set for July 2.

He was recognized with this honor after an impressive five-touchdown afternoon. Charles Power of On3 wrote in response to Casuga's performance: "Four-star [Casuga] was aggressive in going downfield. Showed quality touch and timing with his receivers. Had a few misfires, but overall a solid session headlined by his five scores." Among the other quarterbacks at the event, like five-stars Keisean Henderson and Dia Bell, a standout performance from the Texas A&M commit improves Elko's opportunities to land top wide receivers. Advertisement As Steve Wiltfong posted on X, receivers like Ethan "Boobie" Feaster and Jase Mathews will be important for Elko to draw in with the help of his four-star's Elite 11 showing. Both Feaster and Mathews have yet to declare their commitments, but have the Aggies in their top schools. Feaster will decide between Alabama, USC, and Texas A&M on July 4. Currently in the running for Mathews are LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Colorado, and Texas A&M. While Casuga is still with the Aggies, his commitment is still up in the air to be flipped. Keeping the rising senior committed should be a top priority for Elko and his staff, especially considering his representation at the Elite 11 Finals. If Casuga were to decommit and go elsewhere for his NCAA career, the No. 2 recruitment leader may have struggles moving forward. Top 2026 recruits Joey O'Brien and Khary Adams seem to be enjoying their Notre Dame visits
It's a big weekend for Notre Dame football recruiting, as they welcomed in multiple official visitors. Two of them, Pennsylvania safety Joey O'Brien and Maryland cornerback Khary Adams have mentioned about playing with each other, and along with the Irish, they each are also considering Oregon and Penn State among other schools. Both of them are on campus this weekend, and it very much looks like they are enjoying their time in South Bend. Advertisement On social media multiple photo's and videos were shared, as O'Brien and Adams posed while donning the mostly Green and Gold in a shot shared by the Pennsylvania star. Adams then responded asking what he was thinking about doing. That wasn't the only thing going around, as O'Brien was also seen in a mostly Gold room holding a Notre Dame guitar (see below). Adams is ranked by 247Sports at the nations No. 75 overall player, while O'Brien is their No. 65 national prospect. The safety has scheduled a commitment date for June 20th, while the cornerback still has yet to give a timeline for his decision. Notre Dame gets commitment from cornerback Khary Adams
Notre Dame has secured a commitment from cornerback Khary Adams. On3 Sports had him ranked as the number three cornerback in the class of 2026. He chose the Fighting Irish over Oregon, Penn State and Michigan. Advertisement Adams comes out of Loyola Blakefield High School in Towson, Md. He stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 180 pounds. It sure seems that his visit to South Bend went quite well.
