Miriah Hadley, a 29-year-old from Dallas, Texas, is currently in the process of planning her own wedding, and took to TikTok to reflect on how much 'fun' her friends' bachelorette parties were a few years earlier.
Back then, everyone was on the same page: no babies, no dietary restrictions, no 10 p.m. curfews. But now, with some friends pregnant, others already mothers, and a few living alcohol-free, Hadley is realizing that her own celebration will have to strike a different tone.
'I originally envisioned my bachelorette party in the wine country of Texas – something light and fun, where we'd hop between wineries, enjoy good wine, laugh a lot, and just celebrate together,' Hadley tells PEOPLE exclusively. 'It felt like the perfect mix of relaxation and celebration.'
Since getting engaged in February 2025, the soon-to-be-bride is planning on having her bachelorette party in October, followed by her wedding on New Years Eve.
Used to lively activities such as boat rides, loud music, nonstop dancing and drinks at previous bachelorette parties she's attended, Hadley was eagerly looking forward to her own girls' celebration.
However, since most of her friends tied the knot between ages 25 and 28, her bachelorette will most likely look very different.
'One of the more challenging aspects of getting married past 28 – especially being from the South, where many of my peers are already married, settled down, and starting families – is feeling a bit out of sync with your social circle,' she explains.
Most of Hadley's close friends have been married for a few years and are either starting to plan for a family or already have children, making late-night outings, casual drinks, or even regular meetups increasingly difficult to coordinate.

'As things started coming together, I realized that about five out of my eight bridesmaids may not be able to drink either due to the fact that they will be pregnant or other personal reasons. And I'll be honest—it gave me a bit of a 'what's the point?' moment,' she admits. 'Not because I think alcohol is necessary for a good time, but because the original vision just doesn't align anymore.'
Nevertheless, Hadley has chosen to take a positive approach to the situation. She's come to realize that the true purpose of a bachelorette party isn't about the event itself, but about being surrounded by friends who love and respect her.
'I'm grateful that I have amazing, lifelong friends that I know will show up and support me regardless,' she shares. 'I'm now shifting my mindset to focus on how we can still have a great experience that fits everyone. At the end of the day, it's about creating memories and celebrating love, not sticking to a script.'
What she is most excited about is the energy – simply spending time with her friends, letting loose, dancing, and creating those "remember when" moments they'll laugh about for years to come.
Hadley intends to keep the bachelorette party fun and inclusive by planning a mix of shared experiences like a private chef dinner, a playful lingerie party, and a relaxing spa day. She's also considering sticking with the original wine tour by choosing wineries that offer mocktails and non-alcoholic options so no one feels left out.
'It's not about comparison or regret, but it does require a shift in how you manage friendships and find community,' Hadley tells PEOPLE. 'At the same time, I've learned to really value this season for what it offers – new beginnings, clarity, and learning how to support friends in different phases of life.'

‘Team Conrad' Or ‘Team Jeremiah'? Your Choice Might Reflect Your Relationship Style
The Summer I Turned Pretty has completely overtaken my TikTok feed, with countless people arguing over who the main character Isabel 'Belly' Conklin (Lola Tung) should end up with. If you haven't seen the show, the nostalgic teen drama centres around Belly and her dramatic love triangle. It's a bit complicated, because she's trying to choose between brothers: Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno). They also happen to be lifelong family friends, and spend every summer together. Is it a recipe for disaster? Absolutely. But does it make for binge-worthy TV? You bet. The series, based on Jenny Han's books of the same name, has captured the attention of all age groups. Case in point: I'm a millennial who has been married for 11 years, yet I'm incredibly invested in what happens to these characters. There's something comforting about being transported back to summer, where you no longer have to worry about bills, the state of the world, or finding a place to live. However, being so removed from that part of my life where I was discovering love for the first time makes me view the show through a different lens. I started to get curious about whether my age, stage in life or what I value in relationships had anything to do with my opinion. With this in mind, I spoke to multiple experts about relationship styles, how watching relationships on TV can affect young people, and what being Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah could say about your relationship habits. If you need a quick refresher before The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, let me give you the basics. Conrad is the eldest of the two Fisher brothers, and he's your typical broody and mysterious heartthrob. Belly had a crush on Conrad her entire life, and everybody knew it. Jeremiah has always been one of Belly's best friends, and he's much more outgoing and tends to value communication. During Season 1, Belly kissed both of the brothers before deciding to pursue a relationship with Conrad, crushing Jeremiah. In Season 2, we found out that Conrad broke Belly's heart after he withdrew when his mother was dying from cancer, and she eventually reconnected with Jeremiah. We'll see which brother Belly chooses when The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 drops on July 16. Dr Joyce Yu, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Consent Labs tells Refinery29 Australia it's important not to assume what you see on screen is 'normal or okay'. As we know, there are many unhealthy relationships that become romanticised on screen (we're looking at you, Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass), so we should all approach TV with critical thinking. 'It's completely okay to enjoy media and TV shows, because they're often designed for escapism. But the key is being able to engage critically too: asking yourself whether what's portrayed reflects a healthy relationship in real life,' Yu says. 'One way to assess whether a relationship on screen is healthy is by assessing the power dynamics. Check whether there are elements that give someone more power. This could be their age, position in the workplace or social hierarchy, or professional role.' Yu also warns that 'respectful communication and consent' is key, and says TV shows often can portray jealousy as love. One easy way to test if a relationship you're invested in is healthy is to ask a simple question: 'If this scenario happened in real life to my friend, would I think it was healthy or problematic?' Team Conrad Psychologist Carly Dober tells Refinery29 Australia that those who are firmly in the Team Conrad camp could simply be attracted to him physically (hello, it's Christopher Briney), or that you could enjoy the 'bad boy archetype' or the 'push and pull dynamic'. 'This might mean that this kind of relationship is more of what you're looking for [or] it might mean that this feels familiar to you,' she explains. Conrad tends to be unpredictable — from leaving Belly in tears at prom to calling her a 'brat' and a 'mistake' — which feels cruel, but in the real world, can be familiar to many people. Those feelings of 'butterflies' that you can get in your stomach when you're in a relationship? They're not always a good sign. 'Unpredictability can cause anxiety, which can cause the sensation of butterflies in your stomach. This can be misattributed to excitement and novelty, whereas for most healthy and sustaining relationships, there will be clear communication and expectations, and that sensation will dissipate as you get to know and trust one another,' Dober says. Being Team Connie also doesn't necessarily mean you want this type of relationship in your own life, but perhaps you're craving something completely different from what you usually experience. TV is a great way to rot on the couch and tune out for a while, after all! '[Viewers] might just be enjoying the drama as an escape from their own lives. We often find that if people are questioned about how much they would like to be in a relationship like the one on screen, they would not want to at all,' Dober says. Team Jeremiah If you're Team Jeremiah, Dober says you may be 'attracted to stability and dependability', and he ticks the boxes for what you're looking for. 'It might mean that you admire his personal traits or how he talks to people on the show. It might mean that you're attracted to this kind of person anyway… or are interested in these traits in future partners,' Dober says. There's also a possibility you have been 'burned' in a relationship before, and recognise it's time to try something new. 'People might come to find familiarity with the volatility of some relationships. This doesn't mean that they want this or like this, it just might be the only thing that they understand. For many people, being 'burned' will encourage them to find something different,' she explains. Some viewers may root for a character demonstrating 'stability and dependability' because they're at a different stage of their life, and their priorities around long-term commitment have changed. Dober says this comes as a result of maturity and knowing "what it takes to have a sustaining and healthy relationship work". While she says the show is obviously entertainment, it can also reflect what people "are looking for in that stage of their lives, too". There are arguments for both Team Conrad and Team Jeremiah, and if you wade into fan debates online, you'll quickly realise how passionate everybody can be. Your views can be coloured by past relationships, what you're looking for in your personal life, or maybe you're just attracted to the actors playing the characters on screen. Perhaps being Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah isn't so black and white as I first thought.

Apple TV+ Strikes Multi-Year, First-Look Deal With Chernin Entertainment
Apple TV+ has entered into a multi-year, first-look deal with The North Road Company's Chernin Entertainment, the company announced Sunday. Chernin Entertainment's stable includes 'Hidden Figures,' 'The Greatest Showman,' and 'Planet of the Apes.' Chernin Entertainment also produces the upcoming Jason Momoa epic 'Chief of War' about the unification and colonization of Hawai'i at the turn of the 18th century. The miniseries will debut on August 1, 2025. The North Road Company was founded in 2022 by Peter Chernin. The company quickly established itself as a major player in scripted, unscripted, and documentary content. Its additional labels include Kinetic Content ('Love is Blind' and 'Married at First Sight'), Words + Pictures and more. Apple Original Films will also release 'F1 The Movie' in June 2025 and 'Highest 2 Lowest,' which reunites Spike Lee and Denzel Washignton for the fifth time, in August. Days of Our Lives' Bo and Hope have a long and complicated history as a couple. Read on to find out the trials and tribulations the couple have faced. 1983: After spending months exchanging flirtatious glances and banter with Bo (Peter Reckell), Hope (Kristian Alfonso) finally invited him to accompany her to her 18th birthday celebration, and he agreed. The evening turned romantic as they shared a slow dance to 'Tonight I Celebrate My Love for You.' However, things took a turn when Hope brushed off Bo's heartfelt present—a vintage poetry book. Offended, Bo left in frustration. Ignoring Doug (the late Bill Hayes) and Julie's (Susan Seaforth Hayes) objections, Hope went to Bo's apartment to smooth things over. The two reconciled with a kiss, and Bo confessed that he was in love with her. They came close to taking their relationship to the next level—until Hope's father walked in and brought the night to an abrupt end. 1984: In an effort to keep Hope safe while secretly working on the Salem Slasher investigation, Bo pretended to be romantically involved with his friend Diane (DeAnna Robbins). Feeling hurt and rejected, Hope turned to the shady Larry (Andrew Masset), eventually accepting his proposal. Bo and Hope's search for a missing prism led them to New Orleans, where their mission quickly turned into a romantic adventure. While staying at the historic Oak Alley plantation, the two found themselves alone and swept up in the charm of the setting. Dressed in vintage attire, they shared a magical evening dancing together. As the night deepened, Bo gently carried Hope upstairs, and it was there that they made love for the very first time. 1985 Bo and Hope were given a fairy tale wedding in England as a thank-you from British royalty after they helped capture the dangerous Dragon, who had been plotting to assassinate Lady Joanna (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Their loved ones traveled overseas to witness the joyous occasion, which nearly ended in tragedy when Emma (Jane Windsor) attempted to murder the couple after the ceremony. Thankfully, Shane intervened just in time, and the newlyweds were able to head off on their honeymoon as planned. 1987 After the heartbreak of a miscarriage, Bo and Hope were thrilled to welcome their son, Shawn Douglas. Bo stood faithfully by Hope's side during the delivery, guiding her through it—though he fainted almost immediately afterward from the emotional weight of it all. Soon after, Bo decided it was time to follow a dream he'd held for years. He bought a houseboat, and after saying goodbye to family and friends, he, Hope, and baby Shawn left Salem behind to sail around the world together. 1990 Three years after leaving Salem, Bo and Hope returned—only to find themselves caught up in another dangerous adventure at sea. They were among several people lured onto a ship called the Loretta by the villainous Ernesto (Eric Mason), who had a score to settle. The journey, later known as the Cruise of Deception, took a deadly turn when Hope, while searching for Bo in Ernesto's hideout, accidentally ended up in a trap. She became stuck in a cage hanging above a vat of acid. When the cage suddenly exploded, Bo was devastated, believing Hope had died, and was left to mourn the loss of his wife. 1994 Bo was stunned when he came face-to-face with a woman named 'Gina' at Maison Blanche—an amnesiac who looked exactly like his late wife, Hope. Having recently proposed to Billie (Lisa Rinna) and convinced that Stefano was behind some cruel trick, Bo refused to accept that Hope could still be alive. Eventually, medical tests confirmed that Gina was, in fact, Hope. Despite the truth, Bo followed through with his marriage to Billie. But it didn't take long for Billie to realize that Bo's heart still belonged to Hope, and she decided to leave town. On November 20, 2015, he dies in Hope's arms in their meeting park, as snow begins to fall. 2016: Bo appears as a vision or in Hope's dreams, guiding her after life-altering events. 2022 (on Beyond Salem) In a beautifully staged sequence, Hope appears to die momentarily and meets Bo in heaven. They dance, share intimate reflections on their life together, and decide she should return to Earth with a 'second-chance' pass. In the finale, it's revealed that Megan Hathaway (Miranda Wilson) kept Bo cryogenically frozen and used magical prisms to cure his brain tumor and resurrect him. The series ends with Bo's dramatic awakening—eyes opening in a laboratory setting. 2023 During a tense and dramatic confrontation, Bo threatened Hope with a gun. In an attempt to protect his mother, their son Shawn (Brandon Beemer) accidentally shot Bo. As a result, Bo fell into a coma, and Hope took on the difficult role of caring for him at a specialized clinic. 2025 The couple are back with Bo still lingering in a coma. As Bo, comatose begins deteriorating due to sepsis, Dr. Russell (Michael Dietz) is experimenting with a new drug not yet approved for humans. Shawn and Steve (Stephen Nichols) attempt to procure the drug—potentially stealing it—to save him. John procured it after the lab exploded, but that left him critically injured and he died.
