Sharmila says she is a victim of KCR's phone tapping
Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief YS Sharmila Reddy said that she is ready to attend the phone tapping case inquiry whenever she is asked to as she was also a victim of it.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Sharmila made it clear that it is a fact that the phone tapping occurred as both the YSRCP and TRS governments colluded with one another during their tenure. 'Along with my phone, my husband's and close associates' phones were also tapped. Member of Rajya Sabha Y V Subba Reddy himself confirmed that my phone calls were tapped and also made me hear a recorded audio call which was tapped then,' she said.
She swore by the Bible that the phone tapping occurred during YSRCP's tenure. She urged Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu governments to expedite the investigation into the phone tapping case and do justice to victims.
Criticising that the relationship shared between YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and K Chandrashekar Rao was stronger than the one shared through blood relation, YS Sharmila Reddy alleged that the phone tapping was a sketch that the two former Chief Ministers did together to weaken her politically and financially in Telangana.
Sharmila expressed her anger that the joint operation was carried out by the then chief ministers by tapping phones of political leaders and their followers.
However, the APCC chief made it clear that the phone tapping was a small issue compared to the anarchical rule of the Jagan Mohan Reddy and KCR governments.
She alleged that Jagan had forgotten the fact that she was his younger sister and had conspired several times against her so that she would not grow economically and politically. 'Jagan has nothing to do with my launching a party in Telangana. But he wanted to crush me for the sake of KCR,' she said.

Pushpa 2 dialogue on YSRCP placard sparks row
A placard with a line from Pushpa 2, which a YSRCP worker held up during party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's visit to Palnadu, has created a political controversy, with the Andhra Pradesh Home Minister criticising Jagan over the 'violent' message written on it. Jagan defended the placard, saying it was not meant to be violent and asked, 'So, now you can't even quote a line from a movie?' The placard, held up by YSRCP worker T Raviteja on Wednesday, said: 'When YSRCP comes to power in 2029', and below that, 'rapa rapa narukuta'. The Telugu words were part of a line delivered by Allu Arjun in Pushpa 2. It translates to 'cut them down, one by one'. Police in Palnadu said they registered a case against Raviteja and have taken him into custody. Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V Anitha accused Jagan of encouraging such 'violent' statements. Anitha said the message on the placard implied that if YSRCP comes to power, the heads of TDP leaders and workers would be cut off. 'These YSRCP workers display such violent signs because their leader encourages it and uses such language. It is offensive and a violent threat,'' Anitha said. Jagan hit back, saying that the TDP-led NDA government in the state was finding everything offensive and objectionable. 'So, now you cannot even quote a line from a movie? Are we still living in a democracy?' Jagan also said the YSRCP worker in question was previously with the TDP. 'He got fed up with the unfulfilled promises of the TDP and its leadership and joined the YSRCP, and expressed his resentment. This government finds that offensive,' the former chief minister said. Referring to restrictions put on his visit to Palnadu on Wednesday, and the June 11 attack on his convoy allegedly by TDP workers at Podili, Jagan said on Friday that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was scared about 'failure in governance'. 'His impatience is being manifested in diversion politics and foisting false cases against political opponents,' Jagan said. He also claimed that he had received an overwhelming response to his tours. 'Chandrababu has been showing the traits of a dictator by trying to suppress any dissent and gag the voices of those who question the misuse of police. The modus operandi is to catch the small fry, use coercion to seek confessions and file cases against popular YSRCP leaders, unmindful of the fact that people can see through his game,' Jagan said. Chief Minister Naidu, however, chided Jagan for creating problems for the police during his visit to Rentapalla village in Palnadu district. 'Police gave permission for a few vehicles in Jagan's convoy and for 100 people to gather. Ignoring rules and regulations, he entered narrow lanes and created stampede-like situations. Jagan and YSRCP should remember why people gave them only 11 seats — it is due to this kind of dirty tricks,' Naidu said. The CM also said Jagan was siding with drug peddlers, liquor smugglers, and gamblers, and accused YSRCP leaders of unveiling statues of criminals in villages. On Wednesday, Jagan had visited the residence of former deputy sarpanch Korlakunta Nagamalleswara Rao. YSRCP alleges that he was driven to suicide by harassment from the police and the ruling TDP.

TTD officials dismiss Bhumana's accusations
1 2 Tirupati: Dismissing the accusations levelled by its former chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams reiterated that several reforms were introduced by the temple body in the last one year to uphold the sanctity and spiritual ambience of the hill town. Bhumana alleged that TTD was planning to end Veda Parayanam at the temple, which he said would be a sacrilege of the highest order. "A senior temple official recently called Veda Parayanam a waste of time. It is unfortunate that those who are supposed to uphold the sanctity of the temple are degenerating the significance of the Vedas," the former TTD chairman alleged. He further claimed that Tirumala temple priests were being subjected to hardships and humiliation and are being forced to undergo physical frisking, a practice which never existed in the past, adding that it's the duty of TTD to uphold the dignity of priests. Ridiculing TTD's proposed plans to take the help of artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce the waiting time for devotees, he said the temple body is now artificially keeping the outside queue lines empty by preventing devotees from even entering the queue lines. "The temple trust was formed to facilitate darshan for visiting devotees, not to prevent or turn them away," the veteran YSRCP leader alleged. Responding to the accusations, TTD said Bhumana's accusations about plans to stop Veda Parayanam are "completely baseless". .

Case against ex-Nellore MP's relative for encroaching mutt land
Tirupati: Nellore rural police registered a case against Narendra Reddy, a close relative of former YSRCP MP Adala Prabhakar Reddy, on charges of illegally occupying lands belonging to Ahobila mutt in Nellore rural assembly constituency. The land parcel, measuring 1.8 acres in survey number 195 of Kanuparthipadu village abutting the Chennai-Kolkata national highway, was illegally occupied by the encroachers. The approximate market value of the land is Rs 15 crore. While mutt authorities have been fighting legally to reclaim the land, the protracted fight by the mutt's Nellore unit secretary KC Varadarajan reached a flashpoint on Friday when he released a video through social media, accusing the former MP of trying to usurp the land after promising to render justice for over 12 years. "Mr Prabhakar Reddy purchased the land from dubious sellers who fraudulently claimed it to be their ancestral property. However, after coming to know of the fact, he agreed to 'do justice' to the mutt, but dragged his feet for 12 years," Varadarajan said, adding that the culprits also tampered with revenue records by using forged documents. When the mutt's representatives visited the site to erect a board in the presence of revenue officials on Thursday, the former MP's followers reportedly manhandled them and pushed the board down. Some official documents in the possession of VRO DV Ramanaiah were also allegedly snatched away, after which he lodged a complaint at Nellore rural police station. Nellore rural legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy has assured to render justice to Ahobila mutt besides initiating action against those behind the encroachment.
