Brad Pitt, Channing Tatum Team On Isle Of Man Movie, Docuseries
Yara Sameh
Following one of the more unique auctions the industry has seen in some time, Amazon MGM Studios has landed a film and docuseries package on the legendary Isle of Man Tourist Trophy Race with movie stars Brad Pitt and Channing Tatum involved.
Tatum is attached to star in the film about the motorcycle races, which will be directed by Dog director Reid Carolin, who also wrote the script with Jason Keller and Bryan Johnson.
It will be produced by Tatum and Carolin's Free Association, Pitt's Plan B and Entertainment 360's Guymon Casady and Jason Keller.
The docuseries was filmed during last year's TT races with never-before-seen access to the riders and the races due to an exclusive partnership between the producers and the event promoters.
It was produced by the same group, along with pre-eminent sports documentary producer Box to Box Films and Mediawan — the leading independent European studio and majority stakeholder of Plan B — with the participation of Entourage Ventures.
Plot details remain under wraps, but the scope and history of the legendary race have all the notes of an epic feature film. Long before Formula 1, World Endurance and MotoGP, there was the Isle of Man TT.
As the world's oldest continuously running motorsport event, it remains a one-of-a-kind spectacle. With riders pushing man and machine to the edge at nearly 200 mph, the TT represents the pinnacle of sporting endeavor and the relentless pursuit of glory.
The never-before-seen docuseries is a 4×45-minute cinematic, character-driven series where riders chase their dreams and embrace life to its fullest. Through intimate moments, the series explore what drives these extreme riders to take such risks.
The series looks into the consequences of this commitment, not only for them but for those around them.
It is not just a thrilling adventure experienced through these extraordinary individuals but a deep dive into what sometimes drives us as human beings.
For most of its century-long history, the Isle of Man TT was an event experienced only by dedicated motorbike enthusiasts who made the pilgrimage to the island or tuned in via radio.
However, the 2022 launch of livestreaming through the TT's OTT platform, TT+, marked a new era, offering full coverage of every qualifying session and race. Combined with an enhanced social media strategy, this shift has spurred greater public interest, with online searches for the event doubling over the past two years.
The film and docuseries represent key pillars in the development of a major franchise set to expand across a 360-degree strategy, building on the success of major IPs developed by the talented creators of the Mediawan group and embraced by audiences worldwide such as Call My Agent, The Count of Monte Cristo or Miraculous.
Tatum and Carolin have had strong ties going back to when the two launched the Magic Mike franchise that Tatum starred in, Carolin penned and both produced.
The film would mark the second film Carolin has directed following the hit MGM feature Dog, which Tatum also starred in and produced.
As for Pitt and Plan B, they seem to have a strong feel for racing films these days as the upcoming Warner Bros. and Apple pic F1 bows this month.
Pitt stars in the pic, which already is earning strong buzz.

TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON 2024: Mali Team Profile
How the team qualified Mali qualified for the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations by demonstrating clear dominance throughout the qualifiers. In the first round, the Eagle Ladies faced the Central African Republic. The first leg, played in Douala on 22 September 2023, ended in an attacking showcase with a 7-1 victory, notably featuring a hat-trick from Agueissa Diarra and goals from Fatou Dembélé, Aïssata Traoré, Bintou Koité, and Aminata Doumbia. In the return leg in Bamako, the Malians comfortably wrapped up qualification with a 3-1 win, taking the aggregate score to 10-2. In the second round, they faced Guinea and once again impressed. On 29 November in Bamako, they secured a 7-2 win, and completed qualification in Conakry on December 5 with a 3-0 victory. Across both rounds, Mali scored 20 goals and conceded only 3, earning one of the most convincing records in the qualifiers. TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON history This is Mali's 8th appearance. Their best result to date is a 4th place finish in 2018 in Ghana, after a 4-2 loss to Cameroon in the third-place match. Players to Watch Agueissa Diarra: The current star of the Malian team. Developed at FC Super Lionnes in Bamako, this talented forward joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2023—a prestigious club where she plays alongside international stars. Her rapid development at club level has provided her with valuable experience at the top level of European football, which she now brings to her national team. Fast, powerful, and with a keen eye for goal, Diarra stood out during the 2024 qualifiers with a hat-trick against the Central African Republic. She is Mali's top offensive weapon, capable of changing a match with individual brilliance. Aïssata Traoré: The embodiment of elegance in midfield. Currently playing for FC Fleury 91 in France's top division, she's known for her passing quality, vision, and ability to control the tempo. At 28, she brings solid experience on the continental stage, having featured in several AFCON campaigns, notably the 2018 tournament where she was one of the key players in Mali's fourth-place finish. Gifted with an excellent left foot, she excels in quick transitions and through balls. Her tactical awareness and technical precision make her a cornerstone of Mali's midfield. A quiet leader, she will be key in guiding younger players in a squad that blends experience with youthful energy. Mohamed Saloum 'Housseï' was appointed head coach of the Malian women's national team in 2021. Since taking charge, he has focused on rebuilding the squad with a mix of local talent and players based abroad to enhance the team's competitiveness on the continental stage. His tactical approach emphasizes a balance between defensive discipline and attacking expression, with a special focus on tactical structure. Housseï favors a compact unit capable of moving together as a block, while relying on creative midfielders and fast, incisive forwards like Agueissa Diarra. He also values the versatility and game intelligence of his players, enabling the team to switch between short-possession play and rapid transitions. Ambitions and Group Analysis Mali will compete in Group C of the competition—a challenging group that includes reigning champions South Africa, continental regulars Ghana, and an improving Tanzania. South Africa will most likely be their toughest opponents. Ghana is a familiar rival for Mali, with numerous past encounters in high-stakes matches. Tanzania, often underestimated, has shown clear progress in recent years thanks to better youth development structures and promising results in the CECAFA region. Aware of the challenges ahead, head coach Mohamed Saloum 'Housseï' approaches this final phase with ambition. With a squad that blends local youth and Europe-based experience, Mali is aiming for at least a quarter-final berth, while also hoping to reach a new milestone in its continental journey.

Bayern restore measure of European pride with Boca win to reach last 16
Bayern Munich's Michael Olise scores their second goal REUTERS/Marco Bello (Reuters) - Bayern Munich reignited the flickering flame of European honour at the Club World Cup, battling through a tense, fiery showdown to claim a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Boca Juniors and storm into the last 16 on Friday. Backed by a roaring sea of blue-and-yellow clad fans who turned the Hard Rock Stadium into a noisy outpost of their "Bombonera", Boca Juniors fought fiercely, but Bayern's resilience shone through in the closing stages. After Harry Kane gave the German champions an early lead, Boca equalised through Miguel Merentiel, only for Michael Olise to score a late winner that lifted Bayern to the top of Group C on six points, two ahead of Benfica. Boca, on one point, remain in contention as they face amateurs Auckland City in the last round of matches while Bayern will take on Benfica. The win marked a welcome rebound for European sides, who have faced a tough run at the tournament with Porto, Paris St Germain and Chelsea all suffering recent defeats. In a thrilling second half, Boca made Bayern fight for every ball in a match brimming with tension and bite. In a thunderous atmosphere, the German side made a bright start and thought they had taken the lead when Olise's in-swinging corner flew directly into the net, only for VAR to spot a foul on Boca's goalkeeper. The pressure eventually told in the 18th minute when Harry Kane latched onto a loose clearance and toe-poked a composed finish into the bottom corner after Konrad Laimer's cross from the right for his first goal in the tournament after drawing a blank in his team's 10-0 demolition of Auckland City. Serge Gnabry scrambled the ball across the face of goal minutes later, but Kingsley Coman somehow failed to connect with what would have been a simple tap-in. Manuel Neuer had little to do in the first half, though he was called into action to make two smart saves from Kevin Zenon as Boca refused to back down. The Argentine side pressed higher after the break, showing typical grit and tenacity in the duels and slightly unsettling Bayern with their relentless aggression. Spurred on by deafening chants from their travelling support, Boca clawed their way back into the contest, forcing several anxious moments in the German defence as tempers flared and challenges flew in. In the 66th minute, Olise was harassed off the ball by three Boca players and Merentiel was fed in down the right and kept his composure to skip past Josip Stanisic before firing a shot past Neuer, sending the crowd into rapture as the whole stadium trembled. Bayern's composure eventually told as Olise bent one into the bottom corner after being set up by Kane six minutes from time.
