10 illegal immigrants from Bangladesh held in Delhi

Police said on Saturday that they have detained 10 Bangladeshi nationals allegedly residing illegally in the Capital. Six people were detained from central Delhi's Chandni Mahal area and four from southwest Delhi's Mahipalpur. In a separate raid, a team from the southwest district's operations cell detained four Bangladeshi men, who had been overstaying in Delhi after the expiry of their medical visas. Deputy commissioner of police (central) Nidhin Valsan said the six undocumented Bangladeshi immigrants in Chandni Mahal area include two minor children. 'All of them hailed from Sohranpur village in Bangladesh's Jashor district. Their deportation is under process,' he said.
In a separate raid, a team from the southwest district's operations cell detained four Bangladeshi men, who had been overstaying in Delhi after the expiry of their medical visas. DCP (southwest) Amit Goel said they were identified as Mohammad Rohan, 21, Suhel Ahmad, 31, Mohammad Jubraj, 37, and Abu Kaes, 32 – all residents of Dhaka district. 'The four had been staying in hotels while allegedly seeking onward visas to Portugal. After interrogation and due verification, the four have been deported to Bangladesh through the FRRO,' he said.

LUCKNOW: A Lucknow-based private plastic surgeon and his friend have been booked by the police for allegedly facilitating the illegal stay and cosmetic surgeries of two women from Uzbekistan in the state capital. The FIR invokes sections of the BNS, specifically 318(4) for cheating and 61 for criminal conspiracy, along with Section 5 of the Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939, and Sections 14(A) and 7(1) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, pertaining to the illegal stay of foreign nationals and violation of the relevant act. (Pic for representation) According to Lucknow police officials, the surgeon, despite knowing about the women's unauthorised entry into the country, conducted surgeries to alter their appearance to resemble local individuals and provided them with accommodation in the city through his friend. Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Dr Vivek Gupta, who operates Minerva Clinic, and Trijinraj alias Arjun Rana at the Sushant Golf City police station on Friday. The charges include allegedly aiding the illegal stay of the Uzbekistan women and assisting them in undergoing plastic surgeries without verifying their identities or immigration status. Dr Gupta has two clinics located near Patrakarpuram, Gomti Nagar, and Ahimamau. The FIR, filed by sub-inspector Mahesh Kumar Singh, invokes sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), specifically 318(4) for cheating and 61 for criminal conspiracy, along with Section 5 of the Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939, and Sections 14(A) and 7(1) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, pertaining to the illegal stay of foreign nationals and violation of the relevant act. According to the complainant, the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) conducted a raid on Flat No. 527 in New Hazratganj on June 20, 2025, based on confidential intelligence. The FIR states that the flat was allegedly rented out for commercial purposes without informing the local police, FRRO, or administrative authorities. During the raid, officials found two Uzbekistan nationals, identified as Holida and Nilofar, who had been residing there since June 18. The women allegedly failed to produce valid passports or visas and did not cooperate with the inquiry, as per the FIR. During interrogation, the women claimed to have lost their travel documents approximately two years prior, after arriving in India, and had requested acquaintances, including Lola Kayumova and Trijinraj, to report the loss. However, they could not confirm if a formal complaint was ever filed. They further stated that Lola, who has been residing in India for an extended period, introduced them to Dr. Vivek Gupta for plastic surgery procedures. The FIR alleges that these surgeries were performed without verifying their identity or legal status. The women also stated that Dr. Gupta and Rana were responsible for arranging their accommodation in New Hazratganj. Trijinraj reportedly resides in Flat No. 104 of Omaxe R1, while Dr. Gupta stays in Flat No. 1103 of the same building. Both women have been placed under surveillance by the FRRO as the investigation progresses. Authorities are now investigating a potential larger network involved in facilitating illegal immigration, identity manipulation and document forgery.

Man arrested for stabbing youth who tried to stop harassment in Delhi's Khajuri Khas
New Delhi [India], June 22 (ANI): A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a local resident who intervened to stop him from harassing a girl in Delhi's Khajuri Khas area, police said on Saturday. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon. Police received a call about a stabbing in the area. According to officials, a local youth stepped in after he saw a girl being harassed by the accused. In retaliation, the accused allegedly stabbed the youth and fled the spot. The accused, identified as Chaman, son of Guddu and a resident of E-Block, Sri Ram Colony, was later traced and arrested. A case was registered under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the stabbing. Subsequently, based on the girl's complaint, a second case was registered under Section 74 of the BNS and Section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as one of the complainants was found to be a minor. Police said further investigation is underway in both cases. Earlier, on June 5, two juveniles were apprehended in connection with the stabbing death of a 16-year-old boy in Delhi's Anand Parbat area, police said. On June 2, police received information about a grievously injured and unconscious boy lying near Durga Mandir in Taliwalan Basti. A police team reached the spot immediately. As per the statement, an eyewitness informed the police that while he was returning home with the victim, two unidentified boys approached from behind and stabbed the 16-year-old before fleeing. The victim was rushed to RML Hospital, where he was declared brought dead, police said. Following the incident, an FIR (No. 275/25) was registered under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code at Police Station Anand Parbat, and the investigation began. According to DCP Nidhin Valsan's statement, the police team analysed CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and developed local intelligence. On June 5, based on credible secret information, two juveniles were apprehended. During questioning, the juveniles admitted to their involvement in the incident, as per the police. Based on their disclosure, a blood-stained knife, believed to be the weapon of offence, was recovered from a park near Jeewan Mala Hospital. (ANI)
