'Jasprit Bumrah is like Mumbai housing prices': Hardik Pandya
It was a night that saw
flex their championship mettle once again. In a record-breaking IPL Eliminator in Mullanpur — where both teams combined for a staggering 436 runs, the highest ever in playoff history — MI held their nerve to beat Gujarat Titans by 20 runs and march into Qualifier 2.

While the scoreboard lit up with sixes and boundaries, it was Mumbai's ability to win the clutch moments that stood out. Skipper
, facing his former franchise in a high-pressure knockout, was full of praise for his team's temperament and timing.
'At one point of time the game was even-stevens,' Pandya said after the win. 'I thought the wicket got better in the second innings. It started to come on well, they got into rhythm and we realised we need to hold our nerves and back our boys.'
He singled out Jonny Bairstow's explosive debut knock and
's composed 81 as pivotal. 'The way Jonny batted and started... for him to make his debut for us, it's a special franchise, coming in and playing the way he played. The way Ro batted — he took his time and once he got into rhythm, it was beautiful.'
Pandya also praised his bowling unit, particularly Richard Gleeson's final over under injury duress and
's clinical spell.
'The way Gleeson bowled. Jassi being Jassi. Ashwani... everyone chipped in well and we held our nerves. I would've liked couple more (big hits). The little margins help. We wanted to push in batting and I think we were able to do that.'
Asked when he decides to bowl Bumrah, Pandya smiled: 'It's very simple. Whenever you think the game is going away, just bring him. When you have that it's a luxury. It's like Mumbai housing prices – he's that expensive.'

The final overs were tense, but Pandya had it planned. 'I was just watching the scoreboard and I thought if we can keep extra runs at the end, I had the bowlers to bowl it. It was important that Jassi comes and bowls that over so that the margin becomes longer (the 18th over). Very important to recover well. Looking forward to the next game.'
With this victory, Mumbai Indians set up a Qualifier 2 clash against Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad on June 1. The winner will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 Final.

GT's Tweet For Sai Sudharsan After His 4-Ball Duck On Test Debut Wins Internet
Last Updated: Sai Sudharsan came out to bat at No. 3 for India in his first Test but failed to open his account. He was sent back to the pavilion for a four-ball duck by Ben Stokes. Sai Sudharsan came out to bat at No. 3 for India in his first Test against England on Friday (June 20) but failed to score any runs despite facing four balls. He was sent back to the pavilion on the last ball before lunch by England's Test captain, Ben Stokes. England wicketkeeper Jamie Smith completed a superb catch on the fourth ball of the 26th over to end Sudharsan's stay at the crease. After Sai Sudharsan failed to score any runs in his first innings, his IPL franchise, Gujarat Titans, took to X to share a post that is now going viral on the internet. 'The best stories have a tough first chapter. Confident that our SaiSu will come back stronger in the next innings," GT tweeted. Sai Sudharsan was the second Indian batter to get out in the first session of the ongoing first Test. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 91 runs for the first wicket in 24.5 overs after Ben Stokes won the toss and invited India to bat first at Headingley. Rahul scored 42 runs from 78 balls with the help of eight fours. He was caught in the slip by Joe Root. Sai Sudharsan was included in India's Test squad for the ongoing five-match series after he scored mountains of runs for the Ahmedabad-based franchise in the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League. The Tamil Nadu-based batter played as an opener for GT and scored 759 runs in 15 matches. Karun Nair is part of India's playing XI in the first Test. The 33-year-old right-handed batter, who has a triple century to his name in Test cricket against England, last played a red-ball match in March 2017 against Australia. He is expected to bat at No. 6 for the Shubman Gill-led side. Apart from Nair, Shardul Thakur is also back in the Indian Test team. The Mumbai-based bowling all-rounder last played a Test match for India in December 2024 against South Africa at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Thakur was preferred over Nitish Kumar Reddy in India's playing XI as a fast-bowling all-rounder. First Published: June 20, 2025, 18:55 IST

IND vs ENG: 'He has the game for it,' Ajinkya Rahane backs Yashasvi Jaiswal to shine on England tour
Ajinkya Rahane and Yashasvi Jaiswal Former India captain Ajinkya Rahane has expressed confidence in opener Yashasvi Jaiswal 's abilities ahead of India's five-match Test series in England, which begins at Headingley on Friday. This comes a month after rumors of a rift between the Mumbai teammates during the last Ranji Trophy season. Rahane, who hasn't played for India in two years since facing West Indies, shared his thoughts through his YouTube channel about the upcoming series and key players. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! "Personally, I'm really looking forward to seeing Yashasvi Jaiswal do well because opening the batting in England is really important. He has the game for it — he can control one end and also go on the attack when needed. So I'm really looking forward to seeing Jaiswal perform in England." Reports from April suggested a fallout between Jaiswal and Rahane following Mumbai's defeat to Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy. Jaiswal has been India's first-choice opener since his Test debut in the Caribbean in July 2023. Shubman's Big Test Begins! India's Probable XI & Stokes' Mind Games | ENG vs IND 1st Test Preview Rahane also emphasized the importance of the pace bowling duo in the series. IC Markets Đăng ký Undo "We all know Bumrah is an excellent bowler and a proven wicket-taker, but I'd like to see him take that extra responsibility and help the team get through challenging situations, because winning a Test series in England is always very special." Quiz: Who's that IPL player? India's Test success in England has been rare, with only three series victories in 1971, 1986, and 2007 since bilateral engagements began in 1932. Shubman Gill will captain the Indian team in this series, and Rahane shared his thoughts on the young leader's new role. "I think it's going to be a challenging task for Shubman because in Test cricket I always believe you have to be proactive as a captain. I'm sure Shubman will do well, but it will take time because captaining in T20s and ODIs is completely different." 'Wait until August to see what kind of style it's going to be': Shubman Gill ahead of Headingley Test "In the Test format, sometimes you have to stay one or two steps ahead of your opponents, talk to your bowlers, and plan things with them. So, it's going to be a challenging task for him, but I'm sure he will do well as both a skipper and a batter." Rahane, who led India to a memorable Test series victory in Australia in 2020-21, believes the current team has the potential to succeed in English conditions.
