New Formula 1 2026 calendar unveiled, Imola out and Madrid in

Formula 1 and the FIA have unveiled the calendar for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship. It features 24 races and introduces new technical regulations for F1 teams to follow next year.
The new season will start on March 6 with the Australian Grand Prix and will conclude in December in Abu Dhabi. The historic venue of Imola has been excluded from next year's calendar.

Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said upon the new calendar release, '2026 will be a new era for Formula 1 where we will witness a brand-new set of regulations for our sport, the cars and the engines that will be powered by 100% sustainable fuel.
We are excited to welcome Madrid to the calendar, and to see huge automotive brands like Audi, Cadillac and Ford join the Formula 1 grid.'
The F1 fans are surprised by the absence of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on the calendar. Imola mayor Marco Panieri has released a statement to address several speculations about the absence of the Imola race.
A portion of the statement read: 'However, we want to be very clear: this news does not represent the end of the story.

Bengaluru: Karnataka high court has ruled that the insurance company must cover compensation for an accident involving a relief or spare vehicle used following the breakdown of a scheduled bus. The court stated that such use doesn't constitute a fundamental breach of permit conditions exempting the insurer from liability. The court's decision came after it allowed appeals filed by two victims and the bus owner in connection with an accident that occurred on Jan 21, 2014. At approximately 11.45am, Ganesh and Basavaraj were travelling on a motorcycle from Mudur to Haveri. Near the sugar factory in Sangur village, a high-speed private bus collided with the motorcycle, causing both riders to fall and sustain grievous injuries. The duo subsequently filed petitions seeking compensation. On Jan 24, 2017, the motor accident claims tribunal in Haveri awarded compensation, placing liability on the bus owner, KM Altaf Hussain, on the grounds that the bus had deviated from its permitted route, violating permit conditions. Ganesh received Rs 3,71,030, and Basavaraj was awarded Rs 1,27,250. Justice Hanchate Sanjeevkumar, after reviewing the materials on record, noted that the vehicle was employed as a relief vehicle under compelling circumstances, which did not amount to a fundamental breach of conditions. He determined that the tribunal had erred by not exempting the case as per Rule 57 of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Rules 1989, given the route deviation was under compelling circumstances. Allowing the claimants' appeals, the judge also increased the compensation payable to Ganesh to Rs 7,15,550, considering the severity of his injuries. It awarded Basavaraj Rs 2,24,810. The compensation must be paid by United Insurance Company Limited, the insurer of the vehicle.

Totapuri mango farmers in a jam as crisis hits hard
1 2 3 Vijayawada: As the crisis surrounding Totapuri mangoes intensifies across Andhra Pradesh, farmers in the Nuzvid region are grappling with massive losses. With the pulp industry and jelly manufacturers halting procurement this year, demand for the Totapuri variety — primarily used for juice and not for table consumption — plummeted, pushing farmers into a difficult situation. Farmers are taking the direct sales route to overcome losses and markets in Vijayawada are flooded with Totapuri mango stalls in recent times. Traditionally, the Nuzvid region produces a large quantity of Totapuri mangoes towards the end of the season, along with Banginipalli and small juice varieties. However, unlike the superior Totapuri mangoes from Chittoor, Nuzvid's produce is often labelled inferior due to its lower sweetness levels. This year, pulp factories are offering a meagre ₹6 per kg, while middlemen are pushing prices down to ₹4 per kg. The state govt recently announced a ₹4 subsidy per kg, helping farmers receive up to ₹8. But with harvesting alone costing ₹3 per kg, farmers say they are still unable to recover their investment. In a brief meeting with TOI, Chawla, who had retired from cricket on June 6 last, clearly said cricket is his passion but coaching was not in his mind as he had no interest in it.
