Traitors star Claudia seen without eyeliner in candid photo from hospital bed
The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman has warned fans not to zoom in on her eye as she posts a candid pic from hospital bed.
Mostly recognised for her iconic block fringe and eyeliner, Claudia Winkleman is being forced to change her look as she revealed that she had recently undergone eye surgery. As a result, the TV presenter won't be able to wear her staple eyeliner for the coming weeks as she recovers.
On Friday night, the 53-year-old posted on Instagram a makeup free photo of herself and her doctor as she revealed she had surgery on her eye. Posing without her usual fake tan and heavy eye makeup, Claudia warned fans not to zoom into her eye as she shared that it's 'wonky'.
Along with the picture, Claudia told her followers: "This amazing human makes me see. He's operated on my eyes before and he did it again today. No eyeliner for weeks and I sleep in goggles (no words) but I'm eternally grateful.
"Do NOT zoom in on my left eye - it's wonky. Thank you Julian. I paid for the treatment, this isn't an ad. I just love him. It's very possible I'm still a bit sedated. Night night."
One of the first to comment was Googlebox's Izzi Warner, who said: "We still have the costume and Bobby is willing to wear the eye liner for you if you need a stand in Claudia! Happy healing."
Drag Race UK star Baga Chips also left praise for The Traitors host, writing: "You look beautiful Claudia."
Also in the comments, one fan shared their experience with the same doctor. They said: "He did my eye surgery about 8 years ago! Played rock music as he did it. He told me it would be life changing and he was right. Amazing man!"
Claudia informed her fans of her health update just days after she was made a MBE - Member of the Order of the British Empire - at the King Charles III's birthday honours.
Alongside Strictly Come Dancing co-host Tess Daley, Claudia was honoured for her services to broadcasting. The new MBE said: "I am incredibly grateful to receive this honour. It's a real privilege to work with extraordinarily talented people and I have only got this because of them.
"So this is for the BBC, the traitors and the faithful, for pianos and for the cha cha. I will buy a hat and am taking my mum. I am ridiculously lucky and will celebrate with Tess by doing a paso doble."
As for her career in TV, the mum of three studied history of art at Cambridge University and began working as a TV and radio presenter after she graduated. She has fronted many BBC TV shows, such as Comic Relief and The Great British Sewing Bee.
In 2004, Claudia became the presenter of Strictly's weekday companion show It Takes Two. However, she passed the mantle over to Zoe Ball when she took on the role of co-host for the Sunday night results show with Tess Daley.

The presenter then became a regular fixture on the Saturday night show in 2014 after Sir Bruce Forsyth stepped down.
Until 2024, she also presented on BBC Radio 2. On the station, she hosted a range of different programmes, including comedy quiz series Hot Gossip, Claudia on Sunday and the Claudia Winkleman Arts Show.
In recent years, Claudia has been most notably recognised for being the Bafta-winning presenter of the hit BBC game show The Traitors - which won best entertainment performance at the 2023 awards.
She is also set to presenter the upcoming spin-off series - The Celebrity Traitors. This show will see 19 celebs enter the Highlands' castle in a nine-part series set to be broadcast later this year. Some of the players include comedian Alan Carr, actor and broadcaster Sir Stephen Fry and retired diver Tom Daley.

'"And I can't believe it - even flower sprinkles which I knew would be the big one again. So that has more inventory than all of it and that is also about to sell out." While many fans may have been waiting in anticipation of the restock and new products, others were a bit more dubious about how quickly the stock was said to have sold out on Friday. On social media, one person said: "She is playing the 'sold out' game and thinking we are all stupid. You fool no one Meghan Markle." With a second person adding: "Wait the only new thing she dropped was the apricot spread. And it sold out after 20 mins. Meghan must think people are really stupid." A third user also commented: "Wow they have super small quantities. The apricot and tea already sold out." While fans noticed the new apricot spread and honey within yesterday's sale, those waiting for Meghan's new Napa Valley rose wine will need to wait until July 1 for it to be available. This rose is Meghan's first step into the wine market and the wine is said to be sourced up the west coast from her Montecito mansion in California. Described by her brand as having "soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality and a lasting finish", this "bespoke blend" is said to be launching just in time for some summer entertaining. The Chase's Bradley Walsh admits 'they sadly let me go' from job for heartbreaking reason

More info Bradley Walsh said 'they sadly let me go' as he opened up about a major setback earlier in his career. The 65-year-old is known to many now as the popular host of ITV quiz show The Chase. Before that he appeared on a host of TV shows, including a two-year spell as Danny Baldwin on Coronation Street. But Bradley's career could have taken a very different turn early on. Aged just 18, in 1979, he signed a professional contract with football team Brentford. His time as a professional footballer saw him going on loan at Barnet as well as having spells with Tring Town, Boreham Wood and Chalfont St Peter. Although, at 22, he was forced to give up his playing career after suffering an ankle fracture. On the Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? podcast in 2024, Bradley opened up about the moment he signed for Brentford as well as being let go by the club. He explained: 'I was playing locally for my mum's hospital team, she worked in a hospital, and I was playing in a match, I'd played for the county and things like that, and I'd been a Watford junior, and then, unbeknownst to me, I'd been watched for about a month. (Image: BBC) 'I'd had a good month and it was the groundsman who was the chief scout at Brentford and he came and watched me and he gave me the opportunity to play on a Monday evening against Southend United and I scored the winning goal. 'That was it, and I signed on for two years. I played about 50 games and I scored two goals.' Bradley says he '100 percent' would have had a 'full football career' if he could. He believed he was 'on the brink' of making it through to the first team before he started suffering with injuries. He added: 'Sadly, I suffered a quite bad injury, I was always recovering from an injury, and that's one of the reasons they let me go in the end. I was just too injury prone.' The programme was a hit, watched by 5.26 million people, prompting the BBC to commission a full series. The show sees a panel of six celebrities attempting to help a contestant fill in the blanks and win prizes. This week's famous faces are Sue Perkins, Iain Stirling, Dermot O'Leary, Naga Munchetty, Ellie Simmonds and Layton Williams. Blankety Blank will air tonight (June 21) at 8pm on BBC One.

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch says BBC ‘should not show' Kneecap at Glastonbury
The 45-year-old made the comments after Kneecap member Liam Og O hAnnaidh appeared in court on Wednesday, after being charged for allegedly displaying a flag in support of proscribed terrorist organisation Hezbollah while saying 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah' at a gig in November last year. Ms Badenoch said in the X post, which was accompanied by an article from The Times that claimed the BBC had not banned the group: 'The BBC should not be showing Kneecap propaganda. 'One Kneecap band member is currently on bail, charged under the Terrorism Act. 'As a publicly funded platform, the BBC should not be rewarding extremism.' The Tory leader of the Opposition has previously called for the group to be banned from Glastonbury, and last year Kneecap won a discrimination case against the UK Government in Belfast High Court after she tried to refuse them a £14,250 funding award when she was a minister. Kneecap took aim at Ms Badenoch in their latest single, The Recap, released just before their headline set at London's Wide Awake festival in May, with the song mocking the politician's attempts to block their arts funding and the Conservative Party's election loss. During the proceedings, the court heard the 27-year-old is 'well within his rights' to voice his opinions on Israel and Palestine, but the alleged incident at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, north London, is a 'wholly different thing'. O hAnnaidh was released on unconditional bail until his next hearing at the same court on August 20. Following the hearing, the rapper said: 'For anybody going to Glastonbury, you can see us there at 4pm on the Saturday. 'If you can't be there we'll be on the BBC, if anybody watches the BBC. We'll be at Wembley in September. 'But most importantly: free, free Palestine.' The charge came after a counter terrorism police investigation after the historical gig footage came to light, which also allegedly shows the group calling for the deaths of MPs. In April, Kneecap apologised last month to the families of murdered MPs but said footage of the incident had been 'exploited and weaponised'. In an initial post in response to the charge, Kneecap said: '14,000 babies are about to die of starvation in Gaza, with food sent by the world sitting on the other side of a wall, and once again the British establishment is focused on us. — KNEECAP (@KNEECAPCEOL) May 22, 2025 'We deny this 'offence' and will vehemently defend ourselves, this is political policing, this is a carnival of distraction. 'We are not the story, genocide is, as they profit from genocide, they use an 'anti-terror law' against us for displaying a flag thrown on stage. A charge not serious enough to even warrant their crown court, instead a court that doesn't have a jury. What's the objective? 'To restrict our ability to travel. To prevent us speaking to young people across the world. To silence voices of compassion. To prosecute artists who dare speak out. 'Instead of defending innocent people, or the principles of international law they claim to uphold, the powerful in Britain have abetted slaughter and famine in Gaza, just as they did in Ireland for centuries. Then, like now, they claim justification. 'The IDF units they arm and fly spy plane missions for are the real terrorists, the whole world can see it.' Formed in 2017, the group are known for their provocative lyrics in both Irish and English, and merchandise. Their best-known tracks include Get Your Brits Out, Better Way To Live, featuring Grian Chatten from Fontaines DC, and 3Cag. A BBC spokesperson said: 'As the broadcast partner, the BBC will be bringing audiences extensive music coverage from Glastonbury, with artists booked by the festival organisers. 'Whilst the BBC doesn't ban artists, our plans will ensure that our programming will meet our editorial guidelines. Decisions about our output will be made in the lead up to the festival.'
