Apple TV+'s period television show, based on the unfinished novel by Edith Wharton, was renewed for a second seaon early after its arrival at the end of 2023. Starring Kristine Frøseth as Nan St. George, Matthew Broome as Guy Thwarte, Guy Remmers as Theo, Christina Hendricks as Mrs. Patricia St. George and more, last season saw Nan make a difficult decision between two men — Guy and Theo, the Duke of Tintagel.

What happened in Season 1 of ?
In Season 1, Nan and her sister and friends traveled to England to snare themselves some husbands, minus Conchita, whose wedding kicked off the first episode. Each member of the core quintet has her own experience with love and relationships — Nan becoming torn between the dashing Guy Thwarte and the mysterious Theo, Lizzy dodging a bullet in Lord Seadown, Jinny getting caught up in Lord Seadown's crosshairs and Mabel finding that she is not alone in her search for a soulmate. The Season 1 finale culminated in Nan choosing to marry Theo and have her true love Guy take her sister to escape from her abusive husband with their baby.

'Every second counts,' and that's made no clearer than on FX's The Bear. Returning on June 25, the Emmy-winning series will transport audiences back to the chaotic fine dining restaurant helmed by tortured culinary genius Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White). FX quietly renewed the series for a fourth season in March 2024. The latest season was filmed back-to-back with season 3, Deadline reported. Ahead, we break down everything you need to know before The Bear returns. The season three finale ends with a foreboding 'to be continued' on the screen. In the final scene of the season, Carmy looks down at his phone to see that the Chicago Tribune review of his restaurant has posted — and that he has a number of missed calls from both Cicero (Oliver Platt) and the Computer (Brian Koppelman). We don't get a close enough look at the review to fully know whether it's positive or negative, though fans have tried to decipher what it says. Carmy angrily exclaims 'motherf***er' after reading it — if that's any sort of indication. And if the review is bad, Cicero will stop funding the restaurant. Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), meanwhile, has a tough decision to make: Will she sign the partnership agreement and stick it out with the Bear or jump ship and take up former Ever chef Adam Shapiro's offer as his new chef de cuisine? Carmy's strict list of non-negotiables and toxic pursuit of culinary excellence could be enough reason for Sydney to cut ties with him and start new elsewhere. In the Season 4 trailer, Carmy seems eager to turn his attitude and the restaurant's morale around, though it may be too late. 'Look, we could do this. We could take care of people. We could make it calm. We could make it delicious. We could make people happy,' Carmy says. Thankfully, we won't have to wait for weekly episode drops. All 10 episodes of the fourth season will be available to stream on Hulu starting June 25 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. It wouldn't be The Bear without the group of chefs — or Jeffs — responsible for running it. The Bear has previously featured a noteworthy roster of guest stars like John Cena as Sammy Fak and Josh Hartnett as the fiancé of Richie's ex-wife Tiff (Gillian Jacobs), who were both introduced in the third season. Jon Bernthal, beloved for his role as Carmy and Sugar's big brother who passed away, and Joel McHale as David Fields, Carmy's abusive old boss from New York, also appear in flashbacks throughout the series. Will Poulter as chef Luca and Olivia Colman as chef Terry emerged as fan favorites during the show's second season. Neither has outright confirmed they're returning, but Poulter's made his adoration of the show common knowledge. 'I really hope so,' Poulter told the Los Angeles Times in April of whether he'd be returning to The Bear. 'I love that show so much. The fact I get to be in it is crazy. When I'm on that set, I'm like, 'Oh, they've let a fan on set.' I literally feel like a competition winner.' The cast has remained pretty mum on details surrounding the Emmy-winning series' fourth season. What we do know, though, is that Edebiri, who made her directorial debut with Season 3, Episode 6's 'Napkins' on The Bear, also cowrote an episode for Season 4 with Boyce. 'Each season I've gotten to do different things,' Edebiri told actor-director Ramy Youssef for Cultured magazine. 'Last season I directed for the first time and this season I've written an episode. It's been a minute since I've written for TV, and I've learned so much since the last time — even something as simple as knowing what it's like to shoot an overnight. So, my episode will be taking place during the day.'

Director: Rami Malek's accessible awkwardness made him ideal 'Amateur'

"He has such intelligence as an actor, as a man, so you believe the brains behind the guy," Hawes told UPI in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday. "He has that charming, accessible awkwardness, so you feel that he has a vulnerability that you want to exploit. Also, as an actor, he's incredibly brave, in every way. He throws himself into stunts. He throws himself in emotionally, so I think it just engages you because you travel with him." Co-starring Jon Bernthal, Rachel Brosnahan, Caitriona Balfe, Michael Stuhlbarg, Holt McCallany, Julianne Nicholson and Laurence Fishburne, the adaptation of Robert Littell's best-selling 1981 novel follows Charlie (Malek) as he tries to track down the people responsible for his wife Sarah's murder, against the wishes of his bosses at the Agency. "We had CIA advisers, as part of it all," Hawes said, noting there are interviews with them and behind-the-scenes videos in the extras of the digital release of the film, which is now available on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home. "We really made it so the actors could be confident of the logic of the props, of everything they were doing and then we do that little Hollywood lift," he added. "So, we talked about it being rooted, but elevated. It was rooted in the real world. We ran it past all these advisers who said, 'Yes, that totally works.' And then we'd find a Hollywood twist, just to put some a little bit more sprinkles on." Spy capers seem to be in Hawes' blood since he also previously helmed numerous episodes, including the pilot, of the beloved British MI5 series, Slow Horses. He said he doesn't see a huge difference between stories that follow American spies vs. ones about British secret agents. "It's a genre that the British have done for a long time from Le Carre. Of course, I worked on Slow Horses, so it's something we seem to own," he explained. "I think that's part of our political history: putting us in the middle of the world between the enemies of Europe and the States. It's all about how you find your unexpected heroes thrown into the danger of the shadows." Hawes also directed the first two episodes of Lanterns, the upcoming DC Universe series starring Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald and Nathan Fillion. It is scheduled to premiere on HBO and Max early next year.

Prime Video has cleared up the buzz around The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 rollout. The third and final season of Prime Video's young adult series, adapted from Jenny Han's best-selling trilogy, will premiere with two episodes followed by a new episode every week on Wednesdays until the series finale, which lands September 17. In the teaser trailer, Belly and Jeremiah's lovey-dovey moments are interrupted by Conrad walking into the Cousins Beach house, a candy cane in his mouth, set to Taylor Swift's 'Red (Taylor's Version)'. So far the series posters have stressed all three primary colors, first yellow, then red and now blue. Season Three is helmed by showrunners Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka, with both also serving as executive producers alongside Karen Rosenfelt, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen of wiip.
