for posting his "edited" personal photographs on social media accounts seeking to "scandalise and defame him".
Calling Majithia "an irrelevant leader from an irrelevant party raising an irrelevant issue," the minister, addressing a press conference, sought to give the issue a casteist angle, saying that Majithia was targeting Scheduled Caste (SC) leaders of the AAP. He mentioned minister Lal Chand Kataruchak and former minister Balkar Singh, whose "sleazy videos" were earlier released by Majithia. All three hail from the SC community.
He claimed that Majithia had a history of oppressing SCs and Dalits during his tenure in power, while the AAP govt was a supporter of the two communities.
He said that Majithia circulated these photographs when AAP was set to win the Ludhiana West byelection.
"The photograph shared on social media is a disgraceful and unethical attempt to mislead the public and defame me. This woman is someone's daughter, mother, or sister.

'Pics morphed': Another minister slams Majithia
Punjab Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and minister for minister for good governance and information technology Aman Arora on Wednesday slammed Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia for putting out "private" and "morphed" pictures of his cabinet colleague Ravjot Singh in the public domain.
"I never anticipated that someone could take politics to such a low level. This is not right," Arora said while responding to a question on the issue during a press conference here.
When asked if the row had dented the party's image, Arora said: "Dr Ravjot Singh has already clarified that these were his private photos with his ex-wife, which were being posted on social media after AI morphing. How will this dent the party's image?"
Rather, Arora added: "This raises a question mark on the character of the person who is posting these photos. Will they resort to such a low level of politics?"
"Why does Majithia get such photos or news just two days ahead of the elections," he asked. "I mean, it is a very sorry state of affairs. Only a handful, two or four leaders of Punjab, one can count on fingers, resort to such a low level of politics."
Arora further asked: "Will they even enter the bedrooms of people? It is ridiculous. What these people are doing is total nonsense."

New Delhi [India], June 21 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 5,200 crore in Bihar's Siwan on Thursday, as per a release from the Prime Minister's Office. Extending greetings to all present, the Prime Minister paid respects to Baba Mahendra Nath and Baba Hans Nath, and invoked the sacred presence of Sohgara Dham. Describing Siwan as an inspiring land in India's freedom struggle, PM Modi underlined that this land has empowered the nation's democracy and strengthened the Constitution. He highlighted that Siwan gave the country a great son in Dr. Rajendra Prasad, who played a pivotal role in both drafting the Constitution and guiding the country's direction. The release said that the Prime Minister further acknowledged Siwan's contribution in the form of a great social reformer, Braj Kishore Prasad, who dedicated his life to the cause of women's empowerment. Modi expressed happiness that the mission of such great souls is being advanced with strong resolve by the Union and State governments. He stated that today's programme is a part of these continued efforts. The Prime Minister announced that projects worth thousands of crores of rupees were inaugurated and foundation stones laid from the same platform, emphasising that these developmental initiatives will lead Bihar toward a brighter future and contribute to building a prosperous state. The Prime Minister stated that under the rule of previous governments, the poor were denied housing, while middlemen siphoned off ration supplies. He emphasized that healthcare remained out of reach for the poor, and education and employment were constant struggles. The Prime Minister observed that citizens had to make countless visits to government offices just to secure electricity or water connections. He added that getting a gas connection required an MP's recommendation, and jobs were inaccessible without bribery or influence. Stating that the worst affected by this system were primarily people from Dalit, Mahadalit, backward, and extremely backward communities, Modi said that while these sections were shown dreams of poverty eradication, a handful of families became millionaires and billionaires in the process. 'Over the past 11 years, our government has remained committed to removing every obstacle from the path of the poor. As a result, visible and impactful outcomes are now emerging', said Modi. He remarked that over the last decade, more than 4 crore poor families across the country have received pucca houses under government initiatives and an additional 3 crore homes are set to be constructed in the coming years. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, more than 57 lakh pucca houses have been built in the state alone. He stated that housing installments were disbursed today for over 50,000 families in Bihar. Modi expressed particular satisfaction that a majority of these houses are registered in the names of mothers and sisters. He noted with pride that women who traditionally never had property in their names are now becoming proud homeowners. Highlighting that the government is providing not only housing but also free ration, electricity, and water facilities to the poor, the Prime Minister remarked that over the past years, more than 12 crore new households across the country have been connected with tap water. He noted that in Siwan district alone, over 4.5 lakh families received tap water for the first time. Modi stated that the government is working with the objective of ensuring tap connections in every rural household and adequate drinking water in urban areas. He pointed out that in recent years, multiple pipeline and sewage treatment projects have been executed in various cities of Bihar. He added that new pipeline and sewage treatment plants have now been approved for dozens more towns. 'All these projects will significantly enhance the quality of life for poor and middle-class families', underlined the Prime Minister. Strongly criticising the track record of the previous dispensation, Modi stated that their actions have consistently been anti-Bihar and anti-investment. He remarked that whenever these parties speak of development, people are reminded of locked shops, stalled businesses, and crippled industries. The Prime Minister asserted that this is why such parties have never been able to win the trust of Bihar's youth. He stated that these parties have historically promoted dilapidated infrastructure, mafia rule, lawlessness, and corruption. The Prime Minister remarked that the talented youth of Bihar are closely observing and evaluating the work being done on the ground. He cited the Marhowra Locomotive Factory as a prime example of the NDA's development model in Bihar. He announced that the first engine manufactured at the Marhowra factory is being exported to Africa, marking a historic milestone. Modi emphasized that this factory stands in the Saran district, which was once dismissed as backward by the previous regime. He stated that today, this very district has earned a place on the global manufacturing and export map. He added that not only will local produce like makhana, fruits, and vegetables reach international markets, but goods manufactured in Bihar's factories will also find global demand. 'The products created by Bihar's youth will strengthen the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat', stated Modi. Underlining that the modern infrastructure being developed in Bihar will play a crucial role in the state's progress, the Prime Minister remarked that unprecedented investment is being made in roads, railways, air travel, and waterways across Bihar. He noted that Bihar is consistently receiving new trains, including state-of-the-art Vande Bharat trains. Modi also announced a major milestone, stating that before the onset of Sawan, the land of Baba Hariharnath has now been connected to the land of Baba Gorakhnath through the new Vande Bharat Express. He added that the new Patna-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat train offers a modern travel option to devotees of Lord Shiva in Purvanchal. The Prime Minister emphasized that this train also serves as a vital link between the land of Lord Buddha's penance and his Mahaparinirvana site, Kushinagar. Do not extend time for SC survey, says federation
There should be no further extension given for the survey of the Scheduled Caste population in Karnataka being conducted by the H.N. Nagamohan Das-headed commission, Samajika Nyayakkagi Parishishta Jatigala Okkoota has urged. The federation of SC communities, in a statement on Friday, said that extensions have already been given to the commission to complete the process. One more extension will unduly delay the process of coming up with recommendations on international reservation that the commission is tasked with by the State government. The committee has stated that 91%-92% of the survey has already been completed, and there is no need for further extension, said Basavaraj Kowthal, convener of the federation. The survey being conducted by the commission will cover 101 SC communities to draw the internal reservation within the broader 17% reservation set aside for the SCs.

PM Modi slams RJD-Congress for 'insulting' Ambedkar; warns against 'jungle raj'
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi , speaking at a rally in Bihar's Siwan on Friday criticised the Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD ) and Congress over the recent controversy involving an alleged insult to B.R. Ambedkar 's picture by Lalu Prasad. Modi asserted that both parties have consistently disrespected Ambedkar, citing his opposition to dynastic politics and his advocacy for the downtrodden. He further underlined that the two allies are trying to bring back the ' jungle raj ' that preceded Nitish Kumar 's chief ministership. The PM inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various projects worth ₹5,200 crore in Siwan. Ahead of the Assembly polls due in October-November in Bihar, Modi stated that the double-engine government under JDU Chief Nitish Kumar has brought all-round development to the state. He emphasised that during his just-concluded visit to Canada for the G7 summit, leaders of developed nations expressed admiration for India's progress towards becoming the third-largest economy. Slamming RJD and Congress on the Ambedkar controversy, Modi said, "The spirit of our Constitution is that everybody in the country should get the opportunity to progress and there is no discrimination against anybody. We also say with the same feeling -'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' (Collective efforts, inclusive growth). But the 'Laltain' (lantern) and 'Panja' (hand) walas say - 'Parivar ka Saath, Parivar ka Vikas' (Family's efforts, family's growth). This is the gist of their politics -for ensuring gains to their families, they do not hesitate to harm the interests of crores of families in Bihar and the country." (Laltain is the party symbol of RJD while Panja is the election symbol of the Congress.) He stated that Ambedkar himself was strongly opposed to this kind of politics, and hence RJD and Congress have insulted him at every step. "The whole country has seen how RJD leaders have treated a photo of Baba Saheb. I saw posters have come up in Bihar demanding that they apologise for this insult to Baba Saheb, but I know they will never apologise, as in their hearts they have no respect for Dalits, Mahadalits, backward, and most backward communities," he said. Live Events Prasad, who is ailing and mostly rests his legs on a couch while sitting, was embroiled in a controversy when a party supporter placed a photo of Baba Saheb close to his feet. BJP and JDU have been demanding an apology from RJD for this perceived insult to the Dalit leader. Accompanied by Nitish Kumar and other BJP-JDU leaders on the dais, the Prime Minister launched a scathing attack on the RJD, recalling the 15-year rule under Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi. He cautioned that RJD and Congress are seeking another opportunity to bring "jungle raj" to the state and appealed to the people of Bihar to protect their future by keeping "miles away from such forces which seek to put brakes on development." He termed the policies of RJD and Congress as "anti-Bihar and anti-investment." Later, at another rally in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, to mark one year of the BJP government in the state, the PM underlined that the dispensation is working tirelessly day and night for the welfare of all sections, especially tribals and backward communities.
