Brad Pitt reportedly resigned to permanently cutting ties with 2 of his kids
Over the past year, it's been reported that Brad Pitt has become estranged from all six of his children following his bitter, nine-years-long divorce battle with their mother, Angelina Jolie.
A new report in the Daily Mail said the 61-year-old 'F1' star still holds out hope for a reconciliation with some of his children but that he's resigned to never having a relationship with his two oldest sons, Maddox and Pax.
Pitt has long been known to be estranged from 23-year-old Maddox, according to reports. Now, when it comes to 21-year-old Pax, a source has told the Daily Mail: 'Brad honestly considers his relationship with Pax unfixable.'
Incidentally, the two young men both were first adopted by Jolie from Cambodia and Vietnam, respectively, before Pitt legally signed on to be their father, early in his relationship with his ex-wife.
In 2023, the Daily Mail reported that Pax, as a 16-year-old, slammed Pitt on his private Instagram account in 2020, calling his adopted father 'an awful human being' after the actor won an Academy Award for his performance in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.' Pax also called his father 'a terrible and despicable person' who makes the youngest of his six children 'tremble with fear.'
Pitt's issues with Pax came more into focus last summer when the young man was hospitalized with a reported head injury after crashing his electric bicycle into a car on a busy Los Angeles street. His mother rushed to the hospital to be by her son's side, Page Six reported at the time. But Pitt reportedly stayed away or was shut out.
At the time of the accident, Pax wasn't wearing a helmet, and it was reported that he often didn't wear a helmet and had been involved in other accidents. The implication that Pax might be dealing with some issues came up again last month when he was photographed by the paparazzi in the early morning hours, stumbling out of the famed Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles, with a dazed grin and needing to be held up by friends, the Daily Mail reported. The group reported headed to a strip club in the Hollywood Hills, eventually leaving at 2:30 a.m.
The photos didn't go unnoticed by Pitt's camp, the Daily Mail said. But a source said that Pitt has 'washed his hands of Pax's drama.' The actor 'has zero concern with what Pax does or doesn't do. [Pax's] actions reflect who he is.'
Pitt's estrangement from Maddox, and possibly some of his other children, reportedly goes back to September 2016, when the actor allegedly drank too much and became angry and physical with Jolie, Maddox and the other children during a private plane flight from France to Los Angeles. That altercation prompted Jolie to file for divorce and led to Pitt being investigated by the FBI and Child Protective Services. Pitt denied ever being abusive to his children, and no criminal charges were ever filed.
It also was reported last summer that Pitt also has 'virtually no contact' with his oldest daughter, Zahara, 20. Like Maddox and Pax, Zahara also initially adopted by Jolie, in her case from Ethiopia when she was seven months old. She's now a student at Spelman College, a historically Black women's liberal arts college in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jolie and Pitt also have three biological children,19-year-old daughter Shiloh and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Last summer, Shiloh hired an attorney to file a legal petition to formally drop Pitt's last name from her own so that she would henceforth be known as Shiloh Jolie, instead of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.
Her decision to drop Pitt's last name reportedly left him 'upset' because he 'never felt more joy than when she was born,' a source told People magazine last year. Another source told In Touch Weekly that Pitt, who once had a close relationship with Shiloh, was 'blindsided' and 'heartbroken' by her decision to drop his last name.
When all the children were young, they used the surname Jolie-Pitt. But Maddox reportedly started the trend of not using Pitt's last name. Zahara followed up in 2023 by identifying herself as 'Zahara Marley Jolie' when she pledged to Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College in Atlanta. Vivienne also goes by the surname Jolie, as she revealed when she was credited as 'Vivienne Jolie' in the May 2024 Playbill for 'The Outsiders,' a Broadway show that she helped her mother produce and which is based on the classic S.E. Hinton teen novel.

Ed Sheeran releases new song 'Drive' featuring John Mayer, Dave Grohl: Watch music video
Ed Sheeran has released new music. The singer-songwriter dropped the song "Drive" on Friday, his contribution to the soundtrack of the upcoming Brad Pitt Formula One racing film " F1." There's also a video to go along with the rocking track, which features guitar by John Mayer and drums courtesy of Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl. Watch the full video below. "i knew that i wanted to make a proper rock song for [the movie], a proper driving song. something you'd wanna turn up to the fullest amount whilst driving," Sheeran wrote in the caption of an Instagram post Friday. He noted that he co-wrote the song with Mayer and songwriter Blake Slatkin, and that Grohl and musician Pino Palladino, a session bassist, were "the final jigsaw pieces of the song." "pure dream team for the genre of rock, and i really feel what we created fits the scene in the movie so well," he continued. "i LOVE making songs for movies, ever since i did 'I See Fire' for The Hobbit. it really lets me as a movie fan, behind the curtain, help create the perfect song for a scene in a movie." In the accompanying music video, Sheeran sings on a racetrack while Formula One cars whiz by him and fly through the air. At the end, he gets behind the wheel of what looks like a super-charged dune buggy and drives through the desert and onto a beach. "Movies and art are the only hobbies outside of music i really have, and i love my time at [F1 events] whenever i get to go play there. so this was like a match made in heaven," Sheeran wrote in his Instagram post Friday. "i'm so honored to work with such great musicians on it, and hope you guys love the end result." "F1" follows veteran racer Sonny Hayes (Pitt), who is recruited by Ruben Cervantes, played by Javier Bardem, to join his Formula One team and race alongside Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris. The movie and the soundtrack are both out June 27.

JoJo Siwa Talks Lesbian Identity Pressure: Opinion
JoJo Siwa discussed feeling "pressure" to identify as a lesbian, so let's talk about it. When JoJo first came out in 2021, she generally used the term "gay" as more of a synonym for queer. "I don't know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight. I always just say gay because it just kind of covers it or queer because I think the keyword is cool, she told People. "Technically I would say that I am pansexual because that's how I have always been my whole life is just like, my human is my human." She even made headlines for not liking the word "lesbian." In the years that followed, JoJo did occasionally use the term "lesbian" and was publicly in relationships with women and nonbinary people. During her stint on Big Brother earlier this year, she ultimately concluded, 'I feel, like, so queer, do you know what I mean? I think that's the thing, I've always told myself I'm a lesbian, and I think being here I've realized: 'Oh, I'm not a lesbian, I'm queer,' and I think that's really cool.' She is currently dating co-star Chris Hughes. JoJo is currently set to be on the cover of the Daily Mail's YOU Magazine this weekend. Ahead of the full interview, the tabloid ran an excerpt with a headline beginning, "I was pressured into calling myself a lesbian." In the interview, she said, "When I came out at 17, I said: 'I'm pansexual, because I don't care [about gender].' But then I kind of boxed myself in and I said: 'I'm a lesbian.' And I think I did that because of pressure." 'In a weird way, I think it came a little bit from inside the [LGBTQ] community at times,' she continued. 'From people I know, from partners I've had. You just get put in this world where you feel like, because you now have said, 'Oh, I'm a lesbian,' you have to be a lesbian. And the truth is, sexuality is fluid.' Now, I know that weird straight people will jump on the headline as evidence of some gay conspiracy. But all this does is ignore the evident biphobia that underpins JoJo's story. And yes, this can come from people who are queer themselves! In fact, I am almost certain that any bisexual person you ask will say they've experienced some form of biphobia in LGBTQ spaces — there's even a term for it, "double discrimination." When someone so young is being told by both straight and gay people that their sexuality isn't legitimate, can you blame them for going with what feels more right to them in the moment? I'm using "biphobia" here as a blanket term for "anti-fludity." It's a problem that's been around for eons. Years ago, I asked a leader at a company I worked at about the prevalence of bi-erasure. In response, he, a man in his 60s, said that he likely would have identified as bisexual if he were coming out now, but instead went with "gay" because he felt that people wouldn't have believed him. Such is the double-edged sword with biphobia: Whether you're a man or a woman, it's assumed that you're simply into men. Plus, as JoJo says, sexuality is fluid. I can't help but wonder if the people making the biggest deal over this have an internal abhorrence over someone, well, expressing that fluidity. I'm just an idiot with a keyboard, but it really bothers me 0% if someone updates their preferred terms. It's all very "backlash at Demi Lovato for using she/her pronouns again," even though they are still nonbinary and their point was completely missed in that discourse. There's also the frustration from people who say things like, "Well, why did JoJo have to make being a lesbian such a big part of her brand?" For one, JoJo said that she "basically got blackballed" by Nickelodeon after she came out (Nickelodeon has denied this). It's possible that the decision to pivot so hard into the queerness of it all may not have been driven just by her. This is 2025: I have to write a defense piece about JoJo Siwa. In short, don't aim your hate at JoJo. Aim it at the biphobic system, and, instead, let us unite about the 11-year age gap between her and Chris. Looking for more LGBTQ+ or Pride content?
