David Fincher might revive ‘Mindhunter' as a Netflix trilogy, reveals actor Holt McCallany
After years of fan requests, filmmaker David Fincher's critically acclaimed psychological crime thriller series, Mindhunter, might return soon, in a different format. Actor Holt McCallany, who starred as FBI agent Bill Tench in the series, has revealed that the project might be revived as a trilogy of films on Netflix. 'I had a meeting with David Fincher in his office a few months ago, and he said to me that there is a chance that it may come back as three two-hour movies, but I think it's just a chance,' McCallany said in an interview with CBR. 'I know there are writers that are working, but you know, David has to be happy with scripts,' added the star. Stating that he felt fortunate and privileged for being a part of Mindhunter, McCallany added that 'the sun, the moon and the stars would all have to align' for the project to materialise. 'So I think that in terms of dates and logistics, it could all be worked out, but it has to do, you know, with David really having the time and the inclination and being happy, you know, with the material. And, you know, that's a big question mark,' he said. Mindhunter, based on the book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit, premiered on Netflix in 2017. Set in the 1970s, it followed a special F.B.I. team helmed by agents Bill Tench (McCallany) and Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) that investigates the minds of serial killers. The second season of the show, which debuted in August 2019, contained hints about a plotline for a possible third season with the cliffhanger of the show featuring the BTK killer. However, the show wasn't renewed for a third season, with Fincher revealing that the show was a 'costly endeavour' for him and that it was too expensive for the viewership it had. In an interview with Vulture, Fincher said, 'I honestly don't think we're going to be able to do it for less than I did season two. And on some level, you have to be realistic about dollars have to equal eyeballs.' The director further said that the show was a 'lot for me' as he spent six to seven months a year for over three years in Pittsburgh in order to work on the series. Despite Fincher's statements, fans of the show have been requesting Netflix and the filmmaker to revive the series, and McCallany's statement might just be ray of hope they were looking for. Notably, McCallany and Fincher are set to reunite for the filmmaker's upcoming Netflix feature, The Adventures of Cliff Booth. The film, written by Quentin Tarantino, expands on the world of one of his most memorable characters from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Carla Gugino joins Brad Pitt in Netflix's ‘Cliff Booth' movie directed by David Fincher
Carla Gugino has officially joined the cast of The Adventures of Cliff Booth, Netflix's highly anticipated film directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt. The movie, based on a script by Quentin Tarantino, continues the story of Cliff Booth, the character Pitt portrayed in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a role that earned him an Academy Award. Plot details for the upcoming film remain under wraps, but sources describe it as following Booth's life as a Hollywood fixer. Gugino's role in the project has not yet been disclosed, but her addition to the ensemble cast adds another layer of prestige to an already star-studded lineup. The cast includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Elizabeth Debicki, and Scott Caan. Production for The Adventures of Cliff Booth is expected to begin later this year. Netflix has not commented on Gugino's casting, but the streaming giant is reportedly investing heavily in the project. Carla Gugino is no stranger to high-profile roles. She was most recently seen in The Friend with Naomi Watts and Bill Murray and will appear next in Amazon Studios' Heads of State alongside Idris Elba and John Cena. On the television side, she earned a Critics Choice nomination for The Fall of the House of Usher and has starred in notable series like The Haunting of Hill House, Jett, and Leopard Skin. With Fincher directing, Tarantino scripting, and Pitt returning to one of his most iconic roles, The Adventures of Cliff Booth is shaping up to be a major cinematic event.

Brad Pitt reportedly resigned to permanently cutting ties with 2 of his kids
Over the past year, it's been reported that Brad Pitt has become estranged from all six of his children following his bitter, nine-years-long divorce battle with their mother, Angelina Jolie. A new report in the Daily Mail said the 61-year-old 'F1' star still holds out hope for a reconciliation with some of his children but that he's resigned to never having a relationship with his two oldest sons, Maddox and Pax. Pitt has long been known to be estranged from 23-year-old Maddox, according to reports. Now, when it comes to 21-year-old Pax, a source has told the Daily Mail: 'Brad honestly considers his relationship with Pax unfixable.' Incidentally, the two young men both were first adopted by Jolie from Cambodia and Vietnam, respectively, before Pitt legally signed on to be their father, early in his relationship with his ex-wife. In 2023, the Daily Mail reported that Pax, as a 16-year-old, slammed Pitt on his private Instagram account in 2020, calling his adopted father 'an awful human being' after the actor won an Academy Award for his performance in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.' Pax also called his father 'a terrible and despicable person' who makes the youngest of his six children 'tremble with fear.' Pitt's issues with Pax came more into focus last summer when the young man was hospitalized with a reported head injury after crashing his electric bicycle into a car on a busy Los Angeles street. His mother rushed to the hospital to be by her son's side, Page Six reported at the time. But Pitt reportedly stayed away or was shut out. At the time of the accident, Pax wasn't wearing a helmet, and it was reported that he often didn't wear a helmet and had been involved in other accidents. The implication that Pax might be dealing with some issues came up again last month when he was photographed by the paparazzi in the early morning hours, stumbling out of the famed Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles, with a dazed grin and needing to be held up by friends, the Daily Mail reported. The group reported headed to a strip club in the Hollywood Hills, eventually leaving at 2:30 a.m. The photos didn't go unnoticed by Pitt's camp, the Daily Mail said. But a source said that Pitt has 'washed his hands of Pax's drama.' The actor 'has zero concern with what Pax does or doesn't do. [Pax's] actions reflect who he is.' Pitt's estrangement from Maddox, and possibly some of his other children, reportedly goes back to September 2016, when the actor allegedly drank too much and became angry and physical with Jolie, Maddox and the other children during a private plane flight from France to Los Angeles. That altercation prompted Jolie to file for divorce and led to Pitt being investigated by the FBI and Child Protective Services. Pitt denied ever being abusive to his children, and no criminal charges were ever filed. It also was reported last summer that Pitt also has 'virtually no contact' with his oldest daughter, Zahara, 20. Like Maddox and Pax, Zahara also initially adopted by Jolie, in her case from Ethiopia when she was seven months old. She's now a student at Spelman College, a historically Black women's liberal arts college in Atlanta, Georgia. Jolie and Pitt also have three biological children,19-year-old daughter Shiloh and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Last summer, Shiloh hired an attorney to file a legal petition to formally drop Pitt's last name from her own so that she would henceforth be known as Shiloh Jolie, instead of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. Her decision to drop Pitt's last name reportedly left him 'upset' because he 'never felt more joy than when she was born,' a source told People magazine last year. Another source told In Touch Weekly that Pitt, who once had a close relationship with Shiloh, was 'blindsided' and 'heartbroken' by her decision to drop his last name. When all the children were young, they used the surname Jolie-Pitt. But Maddox reportedly started the trend of not using Pitt's last name. Zahara followed up in 2023 by identifying herself as 'Zahara Marley Jolie' when she pledged to Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College in Atlanta. Vivienne also goes by the surname Jolie, as she revealed when she was credited as 'Vivienne Jolie' in the May 2024 Playbill for 'The Outsiders,' a Broadway show that she helped her mother produce and which is based on the classic S.E. Hinton teen novel. ___ © #YR@ MediaNews Group, Inc. Distributed by Tribune Content Agency, LLC.

Brad Pitt brings back his iconic ‘90s buzzcut
Brad Pitt has everyone buzzing. On Thursday, the Oscar-winning actor was spotted cruising around Los Angeles, bringing back his iconic '90s buzzcut. Known to frequently change up his locks, Pitt, 61, said goodbye to the longer salt-and-pepper tresses he was rocking earlier this year in lieu of an incredibly short hairdo. The 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' alum also shaved his gray beard for a fresh look. It's unclear what sparked the change, but perhaps he's gearing up for a brand new role after wrapping up his 'F1' movie. Captured while behind the wheel, Pitt wore a casual white shirt jacket and black oversized aviator sunglasses. When cementing himself as an A-list actor in the '90s and early 2000s, the Missouri native shaved his head for many roles. In the '99 film 'Fight Club,' Pitt, who played the rebellious Tyler Durden, rocked a buzzcut with a mustache and goatee. Then, in 2004, he returned to the super short hairstyle in 'Ocean's Twelve,' portraying Robert Charles 'Rusty' Ryan, Danny Ocean's right-hand man. The following year, in 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith,' where he met future wife Angelina Jolie, the longtime actor sported the same closely cropped hairstyle. Two of Pitt's kids, daughter Shiloh, 18, and son Knox, 16, whom he shares with Jolie, followed in his beauty footsteps, shaving their heads, too. In 2023, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, who strongly resembles both of her famous parents, debuted a bold light pink buzzcut look. However, she's since grown out her locks. Meanwhile, last November, his teen son Knox made his first red carpet appearance in over three years at the Governors Awards, looking just like his dad in a short haircut. Perhaps one of his other children will soon rock the head-turning look, too.
