Nicki Minaj Name-Drops JAY-Z And Shannon Sharpe On 'Banned From NO' Lil Wayne Collab
Nicki Minaj just reminded everyone why she remains one of Hip-Hop's most revered and relentless lyricists. On Tuesday (June 11), the self-proclaimed Queen of Rap reunited with her mentor Lil Wayne for a fiery — and downright candid — remix of 'Banned From NO.' And let's just say, Nicki didn't come to play.
The surprise drop landed less than a week after Wayne's Tha Carter VI hit streaming platforms on June 6, a release many fans thought would include a Nicki feature. While she was absent from the album's musical assistance, the remix made up for it. With the kind of lyrical prowess only Nicki can deliver, the track wasted no time trending on social media — fueled by her wordplay and the direct shots fired.
Among the targets in her lyrical line of fire were Shannon Sharpe, the NFL, and even JAY-Z. She quipped, 'If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that Sharpe,' a jab that immediately sparked conversation. On X, she doubled down, explaining the line with a dose of humor and a not-so-subtle reminder of a February 2024 moment when Sharpe appeared to slight her.
'Yeah ni**a you thought I forgot that 'Nicki who' sh*t you did? LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO j/k,' she wrote, proving that she forgets nothing. Before wrapping her verse, Nicki also took aim at the NFL and JAY-Z for what seemingly stemmed from the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans. 'NFL, fire some ni**as and then call us!' she rapped, making it crystal clear that snubbing Lil Wayne in his own hometown was not something she could look past.
This remix also marks the first time Nicki and Wayne have teamed up since her 2023 album Pink Friday 2 with 'RNB.' She promoted the track on Instagram with throwback Young Money pics and a caption saluting Wayne as 'the GOAT,' reminding fans of the bond they have that helped shape both of their careers.
As for Wayne, his recent Tha Carter VI drop includes 19 tracks and a roster of unexpected features like Bono, Jelly Roll, his son Kameron Carter, Andrea Bocelli, MGK and others. Take a listen to his new collab with Nicki, 'Banned from NO' below.

Steelers' Will Howard says learning from Aaron Rodgers is 'invaluable'
There seems to be one thing that everyone knows about Aaron Rodgers – that we know nothing at all. To many in the media, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback is a thorn in their side. To fans, he's the guy that won't walk away from the game even when they think he should. To others, he's just a great quarterback that is one of the best to ever play. Despite those differing views, teammates seem to love playing with Rodgers. The New York Jets gushed over the quarterback's presence on HBO's "Hard Knocks" and throughout his two seasons in the Big Apple. Quinnen Williams expressed frustration when the Jets released Rodgers, saying, "another rebuild year for me I guess," in a since deleted post on X. Williams' misfortune is to Will Howard's benefit, however. The rookie quarterback spoke glowingly about Rodgers' presence at Steelers mandatory minicamp in an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Brian Batko. "He's been so awesome to me so far,' Howard said. "Obviously we've only gotten to be together for about three days, but I got a really good feeling about him and about this whole QB room. I think we already in this past week meshed really well, hit it off. I think we got a good vibe, good group." Howard added that Rodgers has been willing to help him in any way he can – something the 41-year-old had previously done for Jordan Love in Green Bay and Zach Wilson in New York. "Aaron has been so willing to help me," Howard said. "He's like, 'Literally, as much or as little as you want me to help you, I'll be there.' He's already given me tips, little things here and there – in the meeting room, on the field, in my drops, different little things. Obviously I can't do the things that he can do mechanically, so I don't want to replicate that too much because that's pretty unique. But, for the most part, everything I can learn from that guy is invaluable. So I'm like, dude, as much as you want to pour into me." While Howard won't win the starting job in training camp, he's eager to soak up as much knowledge as possible from the four-time NFL MVP in what could be his final season. Rodgers kept the league in the dark for most of the offseason, seemingly on the edge between playing or retiring before ultimately signing with the Steelers prior to mandatory minicamp. The quarterback previously noted that he was dealing with some personal things throughout the offseason, leading to his absence from the public eye and an NFL roster. It seems things have gotten off to a good start for those inside the building, even if some fans aren't as excited. Regardless, Howard is one that believes Rodgers is a pleasure to have in class. Peyton Manning credits Jalen Hurts for talking him out of QB rankings discussions
Peyton Manning won't be entertaining QB rankings discussions following a year-old conversation with Jalen Hurts One day, when we're all old and grey, we'll have quite a few stories to tell the grandchildren about great quarterback play. Who knows? Maybe we'll discuss Jalen Hurts with them. Maybe we can, at that time, discuss several Super Bowls he won with the Philadelphia Eagles. It's hard to imagine an NFL career getting off to a more fiery start, unless, of course, we could travel back in time and fix the field at Super Bowl 57. By raising the Vince Lombardi Trophy last February, Jalen made waves by losing his first Super Bowl and getting back to win another one. It isn't something we have seen happen very often. Shout out to John Elway! But, it's Hurts' time now. He's one of the young offensive signal-callers filling a void few thought could be filled, a mammoth-sized hole left by Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Speaking of Peyton Manning... Peyton Manning jokes that Jalen Hurts may have talked him out of the QB rankings business Here's a funny story for those looking for a chuckle. While hanging out at Fanatics Fest in NYC, Peyton joked that he wouldn't be offering a 2025 version of the top five NFL quarterbacks list he shared last season. Last year, when he did the same, he received a call from Jalen Hurts about 20 minutes later asking Manning why the Eagles' quarterback was omitted. There has seemingly been no word about whether or not Jalen and Peyton's conversation added any more fuel for his quest to win Super Bowl 59 last season. Still, based on everything we have learned about Hurts up to this point, we're going to assume it did. We'd also like to thank Manning for any additional comments that he might make about the Eagles' gunslinger in the future. At this point, praise, criticism, oversights, backhanded compliments, and disrespect are all welcome. Oh, and by the way. Did you catch that? Who knew that Hurts had Manning on speed dial and that these two were so friendly? Alabama and Tennessee quarterbacks are hanging out now. Who would have ever guessed?
