Boston Red Sox Superstar third baseman Alex Bregman has been out since May 23 with a right quad strain.
Bregman was playing better than ever, showing why the Red Sox signed him to a deal in the offseason.

While the expectation is for him to hit the free agency market again and opt out of his contract, this injury could complicate things if he doesn't return to playing the baseball he was before the injury.
In 51 games, Bregman posted a 159 OPS+, 11 home runs, and a .299 batting average.
The Red Sox will need him, and soon, as they haven't played well since he went down.
But according to a recent report from Ian Browne of MLB.com, he's recovering well and is expected to return sometime in early July.

"When Alex Bregman went down, a lot of people compared it to his injury in 2021, when he missed 10 weeks with that left quad injury," Browne said Tuesday. "Fortunately, the right quad seems to be recovering much better. Bregman is already running.

"I've heard from people that he wants to be back in early July. That would really fuel this team. Now that they have Roman Anthony up, you're finally going to see a Red Sox lineup that's going to be a consistent, everyday lineup with people you expected to be in it."
An early July return might be too late for the Red Sox, who sit in fourth place in the American League East and are nine games behind the first-place New York Yankees.
Nine games is a bunch to be behind at this stage in the season, but if the Red Sox can get it below seven at the beginning of July, anything should be possible.

Devers homers against his former team as Giants beat Red Sox 3-2

Rafael Devers hit his first home run for San Francisco against his former team on Saturday, and the Giants beat the Boston Red Sox 3-2 just six days after the big trade between the teams. Devers was acquired from Boston on Sunday. He delivered his first long ball for the Giants in the third inning on Saturday after he went hitless in his first six at-bats in the series.
