Booby-trapped vehicle kills three Syrian police officers near Iraqi border
Shafaq News/ A booby-trapped car exploded near a police station in al-Mayadeen in Syria's Deir ez-Zor province, state media reported on Sunday.
The blast occurred near the General Security headquarters in the city, which lies close to the Iraqi border, killing three officers and injuring several others.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Khalil Abdul-Moneim al-Ayoub, the city's administrative director, stated that security forces secured the site and imposed a temporary curfew as investigations began.
Al-Mayadeen sits along the Euphrates River and remains a hotspot for insurgent attacks.
While parts of Syria have stabilized, Deir ez-Zor continues to witness periodic bombings and ambushes, particularly by suspected ISIS remnants operating in eastern Syria and adjacent desert regions.

Iran: 50+ arrests accused of drone espionage
Shafaq News/ On Sunday, Iranian police arrested 53 individuals accused of using drones to film public and strategic sites in the southern province of Fars, according to Tasnim news agency. Yousef Malekzadeh, deputy police chief of the province, indicated the arrests were part of an effort to identify individuals suspected of collaborating with Israel or engaging in activities aimed at influencing public perception and conducting intelligence operations within the country. Mystery object injures five children in Iraq
Shafaq News/ Five children were injured Saturday when a strange object crashed in Saladin province, the Iraqi Interior Ministry reported, as missile and drone debris linked to the Iran-Israel war continues to fall across the country. Surveillance footage showed the children were hit by shrapnel and flying gravel while playing outside their homes in the Dujail district. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and discharged after receiving treatment.
