Glen Powell goes undercover as quarterback Chad Powers in Hulu football comedy teaser
Hulu has released the first teaser for its upcoming comedy series Chad Powers, starring Glen Powell as a disgraced college quarterback attempting a secret comeback. The series will premiere with its first two episodes on September 30.
In the teaser, which debuted during Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Powell plays Russ Holliday, a once-promising quarterback whose career collapses after a major blunder on the field. Facing public backlash and mockery on social media, Russ decides to reinvent himself by going undercover as 'Chad Powers,' complete with a wig and prosthetic nose, in an attempt to rejoin football anonymously.
'If I can't play as Russ, I'll play as someone else,' Powell's character declares in the clip. Despite his unusual appearance, the teaser shows Chad impressing teammates on the field while drawing humorous remarks off it — including a cheerleader who quips, 'He's, like, extremely ugly.'
The series also stars Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, and Steve Zahn. The pilot was co-written by Powell and Michael Waldron. Chad Powers is based on a comedic sketch from Eli's Places, produced by NFL Films and Omaha Productions for ESPN+.
Powell also serves as executive producer through his Barnstorm Productions, alongside Eli and Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, ESPN, and producers from Anomaly Pictures.

Wonderfully weird world of Gumball premieres July 28 on Hulu and Disney+
The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball is officially set to premiere on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ on July 28, 2025, according to Ray Flook of Bleeding Cool. This updated version of the hit animated series The Amazing World of Gumball marks a new chapter for the beloved characters of Elmore, as the show adopts a new title and promises even more chaotic fun. The rebranded series comes from original creator Ben Bocquelet, with Matt Layzell and Erik Fountain on board as executive producers and series directors. According to the official description, the name change reflects the show's shift toward "even wilder stories, bigger twists, and surreal humor." The announcement was accompanied by a new key art poster teasing the madness to come. Since its debut in 2011, The Amazing World of Gumball has earned a loyal following for its sharp humor, unique animation style, and layered storytelling — elements fans hope to see amplified in the reboot. The series' return has already generated buzz, including its anticipated presence at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where past installments offered first looks and behind-the-scenes insights. Set once again in the eccentric town of Elmore, the reboot follows Gumball as he battles fast food villains, AI love interests, and neighborhood absurdities. The returning voice cast includes Alkaio Thiele as Gumball, Hero Hunter as Darwin, Kinza Syed Khan as Anais, and others, with Xav Clarke composing and Joe Sparrow directing the art. 'We haven't grown up much since we last saw them… and neither have Gumball and Darwin,' said Bocquelet, Layzell, and Fountain in a joint statement. Fans can expect the same chaotic energy — just turned up a notch — when The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball hits screens this July.

Gigi Paris opens up after 2 years on split with Glenn Powell following Sydney Sweeney romance rumors
Model Gigi Paris has broken her silence about her breakup with Glen Powell, more than two years after the pair split. During her appearance on the Too Much podcast, Paris shared emotional details surrounding their breakup, including a revealing phone call that she claims led to the end of their relationship. The 32-year-old model and the 36-year-old Anyone But You actor split in 2023, after three years together. Their breakup came amid swirling rumors about Powell's alleged romance with his co-star, Sydney Sweeney, while they were promoting their movie. Gigi Paris did not mention Powell or Sweeney by name during the podcast interview, but fans have connected her statements to the high-profile rumors surrounding the two. Paris explained that, as the rumors intensified, she faced a difficult decision: either pretend everything was fine and allow the public to speculate about her relationship or stand up for herself and walk away. She chose the latter, stating, 'I was shattered,' and described how painful it was to see Powell not publicly shut down the romance rumors. 'It was just, 'This is what I have to do for my job,'' Paris recalled. 'I had two options. I could either pretend like I was going along with everything… or stand up for myself and say, 'No, I'm actually not okay with this, and I'm walking away.'' She continued by expressing her need for respect, especially in a public situation, saying, 'I just wanted respect… just don't make a fool out of someone you've been with for over three years, talking about forever with.' Paris admitted that she felt 'fed to the dogs' in how the situation was handled and that she ultimately had to walk away from the relationship. Paris also recounted a pivotal phone call she received from Powell while he was in Australia filming. 'I got a phone call from him right when I was about to go to Australia to work…[as] all this s-t was coming out on the Internet,' Gigi explained. 'And he called and said, the producers and I have discussed that I think it's best that you don't come to visit…And that's when I hung up. And I was like, this motherf–r is done to me.' Despite this phone call, Paris decided to go to Australia anyway, hoping that seeing Powell in person might provide clarity. Instead, she broke up with him face-to-face, an experience she described as emotionally devastating. 'It was the hardest thing I'd ever had to do,' Paris said. 'But then I was stuck there for two weeks doing my jobs… it was very bizarre,' adding that she was prohibited from being near Powell's set during the shoot. Paris went on to comment on how the media and PR machinery around Powell and Sweeney fueled the rumors, which she claims were strategically managed to serve the movie's promotion. 'Later on, it turned out that it was all… a PR scheme at the expense of our relationship,' Paris said, hinting at the manufactured nature of the rumors that affected her personally. Throughout the podcast, Paris maintained a sense of humor, joking that she hoped Powell and Sweeney ended up together if it made the PR drama worthwhile for her. 'I honestly hoped that they'd end up together, because I was like, at least it would make it worth it for me,' she said. Paris and Powell's breakup had already been confirmed by People in April 2023, but she only now shares the emotional details of how she reached the difficult decision to walk away from their three-year relationship.
