Pedestrian critically injured after being hit by motorcycle which fled scene
Police are trying to identify the rider of a motorbike involved.

Rotorua Police are appealing for public assistance, after a hit-and-run incident left a man critically injured on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Edmund Road at about 2.15pm, after a crash between a motorbike and a pedestrian.
The motorbike left the scene without stopping, while the male pedestrian was located with injuries and transported to hospital.
The road remained closed, while emergency services attended and traffic management was in place.
Police are now working to identify the rider of the motorbike that struck the man. The motorbike travelled from Edmund Road towards Clayton Road.
Police would like to speak with anyone who was on Edmund Road between 2-2.30pm, who may have witnessed the crash. They would also like to hear from anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage in the Edmund Road and Clayton Road areas.

One dead after Otago farm crash, one in critical condition after car fire

Police said one person died at the scene of a crash on a farm near Millers Flat in Central Otago, about 10:30pm Thursday. Three other people had minor to moderate injuries and were taken to hospital. Police are investigating what happened. Meanwhile, another person was flown to hospital in a critical condition, after the car fire at Karitane, north of Dunedin. Fire and Emergency shift manager Lyn Crosson said the car was 'well alight' when firefighters from Waikouaiti arrived. "We didn't have to remove anyone from the car," Crosson said. Police said they were making enquiries and that the fire did not appear to be suspicious. Emergency services have also been kept busy in Tasman , where three people have been critically injured in two different car crashes, on Thursday.
