Youth allegedly struck by vehicle, 76-year-old driver charged
Police gear in this undated image. (OPP) A youth was struck by a vehicle in Thornburry Monday afternoon. Collingwood police say a vehicle accelerated out of control, jumped the sidewalk and allegedly struck a pedestrian walking by. The youth suffered minor to non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, a 76-year-old Thornbury woman was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act. The Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police call on all drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic laws to keep roads safe in the days ahead.
