Love Island's Chloe Burrows confirms she's off the market after finding love
EXCLUSIVE: Love Island star Chloe Burrows has opened up about her own dating disasters ahead of her new Channel 4 documentary, UNTOLD: Love in the Wild - The Real Dating Experiment
Love Island babe Chloe Burrows has confirmed she's officially off the market – but don't expect to see her packing on the PDA anytime soon.
The 28-year-old blonde beauty, who shot to fame on the ITV2 dating show back in 2021, has finally moved on from her high-profile split with Toby Aromolaran – and she's found love the old-fashioned way.
Speaking ahead of the release of her brand new Channel 4 documentary UNTOLD: Love in the Wild – The Real Dating Experiment, which drops tonight (June 4), Chloe spilled the tea on her new romance, her dating disasters, and why she's turned her back on dating apps for good.
'Yes, I've met someone in real life,' she confirmed with a smile. 'But I'm keeping this one private. No more public relationships for me.'
Chloe and Toby captured the nation's hearts during their time in the villa, eventually finishing as runners-up in the 2021 series. But after a whirlwind romance outside the show – complete with moving in together and red carpet appearances – things fizzled out, and the pair called it quits in 2022.
'After my other Untold documentary, I'm standing on business,' Chloe explained. 'I'm not having a public relationship again. It's not a secret, just something I want to keep to myself.'
In her new doc, which is part of Channel 4's hard-hitting UNTOLD strand, Chloe goes on a real-life dating mission to uncover why young Brits are ditching the apps and heading back to real-world romance. And spoiler alert – it gets messy.
From speed dating to awkward blind dates to full-on rock climbing with strangers, Chloe dives into every type of face-to-face flirting you can imagine – and she's got the bruises (and stories) to prove it and when it comes to her own dating life away from the show, it hasn't always been plain sailing.
'There's one guy who looked nothing like his profile pic,' she laughed as she detailed the time she was catfished. 'I evacuated immediately. I said I needed the loo and never came back.'
The documentary also dives into the dark side of app dating – from AI-generated profiles to safety concerns and ghosting culture. 'It's mad,' Chloe admitted. 'It's too easy to catfish now. You just don't know who's really behind the screen.'
And while she's still glued to Love Island like the rest of us, don't expect her to pop back into the villa any time soon – even for All Stars.
'No. Not for me,' she said firmly. 'I've done my bit. I've moved on. I'll still be watching though – I'm a fan just like everyone else. I love the routine of it – dinner done by 9, sit down and watch Love Island, then bed.'
The dating show returns next week for its 12th series marking a decade since its debut.
Since her Island days, Chloe's carved out a brand new career as a presenter and doc host. Her first UNTOLD film tackled the dark side of fame, and now she's back for round two – and loving it.
'I love getting stuck in. I'm not just narrating – I'm actually going through these experiences,' she said. 'Let us [Islanders] enjoy any opportunity we get. If it's not your thing, that's fine - watch something else. Trolls will always troll. But for those of us taking this route, good on us.'
And her advice for anyone still swiping left and right?
'Go outside. Go meet people. Honestly, try speed dating. The vibe was immaculate.'

Love Island's Shaughna Phillips showcases her six stone weight loss in stunning lingerie transformation snaps
Shaughna Phillips looked incredible as she showed off her nearly six stone weight loss in an impressive before and after snap. The former Love Island star, 31, has been working hard on her diet and fitness in recent years and has gone from 97kg (15st) to 61kg (9.6st). The influencer embarked on her weight loss journey following the birth of her daughter, Lucia, in 2023. In her latest post, Shaughna shared a photo of herself in white lingerie alongside another taken 14 months later after losing the weight. Alongside the post, she wrote: 'Let the record reflect, although I've dropped a few dress sizes, I will ALWAYS love a high waisted full brief.' The star was inundated with messages from followers who wrote: 'Well done'... 'You look happy with your new body that's all that matters lovely'... 'Well done you look amazing. Determined to be the strongest version of herself for her little one, she ditched old habits in favour of a disciplined meal plan and quick-fire boxing-inspired workouts. It comes after Shaughna, who was told previously she was clinically obsese, showed off her figure in a white bikini as she shared before and after shots of her weight loss. She posted three side-by-side pictures of herself on her weight loss journey - on day one, nine months in and just over a year later. She wrote over the top of it: 'This is me on day one fronting it out, showing sass I didn't feel.' The video then skipped to her at the end of her weight loss journey as she wore a similar bikini, showing off her weight loss. She added: 'Just hoping I'd get to here one day and still kinda shook that did.' The Love Island star has dropped five dress sizes after starting on her fitness and diet plan and is now a healthier nine stone 10lbs. Shaughna recently addressed claims she's used Ozempic to slim down, after stunning fans with her weight loss. She was hit by accusations that she used the drug Ozempic, which was previously used to treat diabetes but in recent years has been used by stars as an appetite suppressant. But the star has hit back at the claims, telling The Mirror: 'I love food way too much.' She went on to add: 'There's a new fad every other year. It just so happens that this is the fad this time around, and after I have lost weight. 'The thing is, it just coincided with the time when I had my daughter Lucia, and I had this baby weight, and everyone was commenting on it. 'Had it of been a few years prior, everyone would have been saying I had a BBL, or some magical liposuction that completely transformed how I looked.' Shaughna went on to add that she is 'terrified' by the prospect of the side effects of using Ozempic.

Jenny Powell's daughter declines third Love Island offer for very different path
EXCLUSIVE: Jenny Powell says her eldest daughter Connie, 24, has been asked to be on Love Island three times but has turned it down as she's too much of an 'old soul' Jenny Powell might be one of Britain's most glamorous TV stars - but don't expect her eldest daughter to be strutting round the Love Island villa in a tiny bikini any time soon. In fact, Connie, Jenny's 24-year-old first-born, has now politely declined an invite to join the smash-hit dating show not once, not twice - but THREE times, her mum reveals in an exclusive chat. 'They've asked her three times now!' laughs Jenny, who at 57 (and looking about 37!) is still a firm TV favourite, regularly popping up on everything from Loose Women to presenting at this summer's Rewind Festival. Jenny, who lives in South Manchester with fiancé Martin Lowe, 51, and their youngest daughter Pollyanna, 16, says she's secretly relieved Connie has no interest in reality fame. 'I was on Loose Women and all of a sudden I got a call,' she said. 'It was during lockdown and she was at uni. She was like, I'm at UCL studying Art History, I don't think I'm up for doing that! I think it's quite cool that she's turned it down three times! I quite like it. If we ever meet someone famous they are not impressed at all. They're not bothered.' While plenty of 20-somethings would jump at the chance for sun, scandal and a six-figure influencer deal, Jenny says Connie is cut from a different cloth entirely - and so is her youngest, Pollyanna. 'Connie posts on Instagram about once a year. Do you know what I mean? She's not that person. And therefore I don't think she would even realise the pressure and the attention she'd get. I think I'd worry for her.' Jenny says she's proud Connie didn't get swept up in the showbiz circus, and reckons her grounded attitude comes from a solid upbringing - and the knock-on effects of a tough few years during the pandemic. 'I just think we don't realise in this day and age, even though all these young people, they've got this facade, they're all so confident and look a certain way and all that stuff. But actually, I think there is a huge fragility in these past couple of generations, especially ones that have been through shit through COVID.' 'I mean, you know, for her, she got a degree on her own, sitting in a room. Those amazing uni years at UCL, which is up there with Oxford, and UCL's major. She's got three A stars. Connie worked at Maddox Galleries in Mayfair.' 'Now, she decided she's done enough there. Then she's gone to Knight Frank, shares a flat with her friend from Manchester. She's got a lovely boyfriend. She's very old school. Old soul. They both are. I think it will help them through these times, because they're not great times.' While Connie is not the only daughter of a famous British celebrity to be associated with the show, Princess Andre, 18, was also rumoured to be entering the villa but dad, Peter, quickly turned down those rumours. In his exclusive weekly column about the rumours that eldest daughter Princess, who just turned 18, could be signing up to Love Island - he admits that he doesn't know where the rumours came from, and says at 17 she can't legally apply yet anyway. He says: "There's been a lot of talk about Princess going on Love Island, and I don't know where it came from. She's not 18 yet, so it's not even an option." He adds that, though he would support her if she wanted to sign up to the ITV2 show, it's not something he'd ever choose for her. "Whether she chooses to do it in the future is up to her, but of course it's every dad's nightmare. Then again, I look at people like Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, and others, and see how happy they were in their relationships that came from the show. It's about what makes Princess happy at the end of the day. I wouldn't stop her, but if she asks my opinion, I'll be honest." In a recent episode of her podcast, Katie Price revealed that she has tried to encourage her daughter Princess Andre to sign up for competition show Love Island. However, the model and entrepreneur has tellingly responded that she doesn't want to be known as a 'Love Islander'.

Hollyoaks star talks major change to soap and teases Clare and Mercedes twist
Hollyoaks favourite Jennifer Metcalfe told The Mirror all about a huge change she's noticed to the soap and the support from fans, as she teased an unexpected Clare and Mercedes twist One Hollyoaks icon has nothing but praise for loyal fans of the Channel 4 soap, after a surge in support and "noise" since some big changes were made. Actress Jennifer Metcalfe told The Mirror how in the past year or so, she's noticed more support than ever from viewers, amid some massive storylines. The soap made some big changes in the past year, from cast and crew cuts to dropping episodes and being heavily digital. During what was a no doubt worrying time for the cast and crew, the show has delivered some huge plots and episodes - some of which earned them some awards at the British Soap Awards just last month. Mercedes McQueen took centre stage in a cancer storyline that aired some of the most moving and important scenes ever to be shown on the soap. Now, actress Jennifer has shared her reaction to the support for her and her storyline, but also for Hollyoaks overall. She confessed that over the past decade or just under, it felt to those on the show that the buzz around the soap had died down, and perhaps people weren't as interested in the soap anymore. But since the transformation, the cast have been overwhelmed with the constant hype and online support for the characters and the episodes. Jennifer also said fans messaging her over Mercedes' health battle has "been amazing". She shared: "It has been amazing, honestly. There has been more noice around this show this year than in the past eight years. The feeling amongst us over the last few years was that maybe people didn't care as much." "Since Hannah Cheers [Executive Producer] has done the big turn around there has been such massive support." Jennifer also teased the big 30th episodes, while she couldn't give much away as much of it was being kept under wraps for now. What she did say though as that some changes had been made to plans, while she's also suspicious over a sudden flurry of scenes with one character in particular. She said: "Me and Anya Lawrence [who plays Vicky Grant] have had random scenes together that we never get." As Anya told us and Jennifer: "We never normally have this there's been some nice surprises in the scripts," Jennifer added: "We don't know if that's something coming up for the big 30th or not. "I say don't tell me cos I am a blabbermouth so I say don't tell me the storylines. But I don't know yet what's happening with it, I've heard they've changed their minds a few times but that's all they are telling us." The actress also promised more scenes with long-time rival and returning character Clare Devine. She promised Mercedes and Clare would be back with the fiery showdowns, but she also teased something unexpected would happen for them. Of her co-star Gemma Bissix she told us: "She's a force to be reckoned with on and off screen. The energy she brings to the building it's beautiful. The character is so iconic. There's always a decent clash with her and Mercedes. "But they do find some middle ground, something they can both kind of bond over this time, even if half of it is a lie. You get that softness out of the two characters. With Mercedes and Clare we see a softer side to their relationship dare I say, and fiery stuff as well." Hollyoaks is available to stream on Channel 4's streaming service now, while it also airs Mondays to Wednesdays on E4 at 7PM. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Threads.
