Alfredo Pedulla Confirms Inter Milan & Italy Star Is ‘Napoli's First Choice'
Alfredo Pedulla took stock of the future of Inter Milan ace Davide Frattesi amid talks linking him with a shock move to Napoli.
Speaking to The Italian Football Podcast, Pedulla confirmed Napoli's interest in the 25-year-old.

Davide Frattesi seemed destined to leave the San Siro in January.
However, Inter blocked his transfer to Roma by slapping a prohibitive €50 million price tag on his shoulders.
Despite denying him a chance to leave, ex-manager Simone Inzaghi rarely played the former Sassuolo midfielder.
Therefore, a lack of first-team opportunities only strengthened Frattesi's desire to find a new club.
Yet, with Inzaghi out of the picture, the situation could change.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu could resurrect Frattesi's career at Inter, especially now that Hakan Calhanoglu is thinking of departing the club.
Moreover, the Italian star could have a prominent role at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

That could determine his future in Lombardy.
On the other hand, Napoli boss Antonio Conte is contemplating offering Frattesi an escape route from the San Siro.

'Frattesi is Napoli's first choice,' Pedulla stated. 'With the new Inter management, without Simone Inzaghi, I believe that Frattesi will not push as hard as before to leave.
'Before he played little, he came in, scored, but rarely started. Roma had tried seriously, he was a Roma fan or at least tied to Roma.
'Inter had asked for fifty million in January, fifty because they didn't want to sell him.

'It was a price set to push away the interested clubs. Now that there is Chivu and there is no longer Inzaghi, I think that before going, he will think about it.
'But then Inter are not able to lose Calhanoglu, Frattesi, and another two.
'Inter will probably do a little re-styling, but they can't sell everyone. Because then it would become very complicated for a new coach who has arrived to a completely new team.'

Club World Cup results: Real Madrid pulls off win despite early red, Man City and Juventus advance
Sunday brought clarity, and a few surprises, to the Club World Cup picture, as European powers flexed their muscles and two Round of 16 spots were officially clinched. Juventus and Manchester City continued to dominate Group G with convincing wins, setting up a Thursday showdown to decide the group's top seed. Real Madrid, down to 10 men early, still outclassed Pachuca to stay in the hunt, while Al Hilal and Red Bull Salzburg battled to a gritty stalemate that kept both sides' hopes alive in a tightly contested Group H. Sunday's Club World Cup results Juventus is holding strong at the top of Group G after cruising to another dominant win on Sunday. The Italian giants kicked off the scoring with a little help from Wydad AC, who hit in an own goal in the sixth minute to give Juventus an early lead. From there, Kenan Yıldız picked up his first of two goals in the 16th minute, then scored again in the 69th; in the 25th, Wydad AC did keep Juventus from a clean sheet with a goal from midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch. Juventus sealed the win with a penalty kick from Dušan Vlahović late in stoppage time. After their wins Sunday, Juve and Manchester City both advance to the Round of 16 and will battle for Group G's top spot on Thursday. It took only eight minutes for Real Madrid-Pachuca to take a turn, after Real Madrid defender Raúl Asencio was given a very early red card for a sloppy tackle on star Pachuca striker Salomón Rondón. Though Pachuca significantly outshot Real Madrid early on, it was the Spanish club that struck first, and then second, as Jude Bellingham notched a goal in the 35th minute and midfielder Arda Güler doubled that lead ten minutes later. Pachuca continued to hunt for a goal throughout the second half, but then Real Madrid struck one more time, with a 70th-minute goal from Federico Valverde. The Mexican squad finally found the back of the net with a goal from 19-year-old Elías Montiel, but it wasn't enough. Instead, Pachuca settles for a frustrating loss against the short-handed Real Madrid and has been eliminated. Al Hilal and Salzburg battled to the Club World Cup's fifth scoreless draw in a tense stalemate that featured another heroic performance from Yassine Bounou. The Moroccan goalkeeper was named the player of the match after a string of sharp saves, including a point-blank stop early in the second half that helped preserve the clean sheet. Salzburg, fresh off a historic opening win over Pachuca, struggled to break down Al Hilal despite outshooting the Saudi side 6-4 in shots on goal. Al Hilal, which held Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw in their opener, edged possession and generated 19 total attempts, but couldn't find a way past Salzburg's backline. Manchester City cruised into the Club World Cup Round of 16 with a commanding 4-0 win over Al Ain, fueled by first-half goals from Ilkay Gündogan, Claudio Echeverri and Erling Haaland. Gündogan secured a brace with a second-half chip shot from inside the box before Oscar Bobb and Rayan Cherki added goals of their own. The win builds on City's 2-0 tournament-opening triumph over Wydad AC and guarantees their place in the Round of 16. They'll face Juventus on Thursday with the Group G lead at stake. For Al Ain, who were routed 5-0 by Juve in their opener, it was another harsh lesson against European opposition as they sit eliminated at the bottom of the group. Maurizio Sarri Makes Request to Sign €30M Juventus Winger
Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has reportedly requested the signing of Juventus winger Nico Gonzalez. Maurizio Sarri Wants Nico Gonzalez at Lazio The returning manager has been in constant talks with the club's Sporting Director, Angelo Fabiani, over the past few days, as the two men work on putting together a transfer strategy. Therefore, several names have been placed on the table, and according to Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Nico Gonzalez was the latest suggestion brought up by Sarri. The Background The Argentinian winger has been a Serie A staple since making the move from Stuttgart to Fiorentina in the summer of 2021. After cementing himself as the Viola's ultimate attraction, the 27-year-old sealed a transfer to Juventus last summer on loan with an obligation to buy for circa €33 million. (Photo by) Advertisement Nico Gonzalez endured a challenging first campaign in Turin, only contributing five goals and four assists in 35 appearances in all competitions. Therefore, several reports believe the Bianconeri would be willing to offload the winger this summer, but a €30 million fee would be required to avoid disrupting the balance sheet. Difficult Mission for Lazio As the source explains, prising the Argentina international away from Juventus remains a daunting task for Lazio, especially at this stage of the summer, as their transfer plans remain impeded by the infamous liquidity index. One solution would be to conduct an initial loan deal, thus deferring the cost of the operation until next summer, but it remains to be seen whether this would be feasible.

Honestly, we had talked about it with [Napoli director] Giovanni Manna. He told me it was a possible solution. 'Sometimes, directors make up stories also to keep you calm,' Conte continued. 'If you ask me: 'Have you ever thought McTominay would surely arrive?' I'd say no. Don't forget we were heading into a season without European trophies to play for, so he had to leave Manchester United to start over with us.' McTominay scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 34 Serie A games in his debut season in Italy's top flight.
