The soap star played Mason Radcliffe on the soap before his character was tragically killed off.
The actor's chances of picking up an award tonight was dashed when it was announced that EastEnders' special flashback episode about Phil Mitchell's Psychosis had won.
Those watching at home claimed Luca looked "furious" with the result.
One wrote: "The Mason actor didn't look too happy there."

While some fans said Luca was "robbed".

Shocking scenes saw Mason attacked by his brothers and flee - but the thugs chased him down.
And when Dylan tried to intervene - bringing Mason's knife - it was taken from him and used to stab Mason.
He stumbled into the playground and hallucinated a future where he reunited with Betsy and planned for his new life in Germany.

But as the truth was revealed about Dylan's involvement, the reality was shown as Abi Webster found Mason bleeding out.
She screamed for an ambulance and tried to apply pressure to his wounds, desperate to save him.
Mason told her: 'I'm going to die, aren't I? I'm going to die.'
Abi said: 'You're not going to die. Mason, listen to me, an ambulance is on the way and you're not going to die.'

However the ambulance was distracted by a hoax call and delayed in getting to Mason so he was in a bad way by the time it arrived.
Rushed to hospital with a weeping Betsy and Abi with him, the doctors battled to save his life.
But sadly there was nothing they could do and Mason died in the hospital leaving Betsy devastated.
BBC rival EastEnders swept the board after collecting a total of eight gongs in its 40th anniversary year - more than double its nearest rival, Channel 4's Hollyoaks who got three awards.

EastEnders was awarded Best Soap after its huge live episode and anniversary week which saw Anita Dobson return as Angie Watts and Martin Fowler killed off in the arms of his love, Stacey.
It was certainly not the only award that they picked up with actress Lacey Turner receiving the trophy for Best Leading Performer ahead of her impending exit from the show.
The 40th anniversary also managed to clutch the Scene of the Year thanks to Angie's shock return.
Steve McFadden a won a trophy for Best Dramatic Performance as Phil Mitchell but did not attend the ceremony with Angela Wynter and Rudolph Walker also receiving prizes as Patrick and Yolande - beating Corrie fan favourites Lisa Swain and Carla Connor, affectionately known as Swarla, to the Best On-Screen Partnership award.

The Walford based soap also collected the Comedy Performance gongs and Villain of the Year.
In a major blow to Coronation Street, only David Neilson picked up the Outstanding Achievement Award as Roy Cropper which was presented to him by by his on-screen wife Julie Hesmondhalgh.

A number of celebrities were in attendance at the final day of the Royal Ascot on Saturday - where King Charles and Queen Camilla cheered on the horse racing events Celebrities and Royals mingled together for the 2025 final of the Royal Ascot on Saturday. King Charles III and Queen Camilla were in attendance to oversee an afternoon of high adrenaline - and high stakes - horse racing. His Majesty The King showcased his infamous quintessential style wearing a summer suit - with a pop of colour coming via a pastel yellow waistcoat. The King added a top hat to his look and carried a smart umbrella as the forecast carried a risk of downpours. Meanwhile the Queen donned a light-weight pleated white dress with a matching white jacket. She completed her look with a white had and white heels - and too was ready for any eventuality on the weather front by carrying an umbrella of her own. The royal couple arrived via horse drawn carriage and looked in high spirits as they prepared to supervise an afternoon of equestrian sport. Also in attendance was Princess Eugenie, 35, who stood out in a red dress and hat for the day ahead. While a range of celebrities also turned up to watch all the sun-soaked action. Despite the Royal Ascot being a fixture in the society diary, horse racing fans were shocked this week when celebrations descended into bloody violence. Two men came to blows at the grounds on Friday, leaving fans stunned. The Daily Mail reported on the violence, revealing: "A group of men attempt to separate the brawling pair. The group could briefly be heard telling the fighting men: 'Stop, stop, boys.' "While one man, dressed in a grey suit, was dragged away, the other was picked up from the ground with blood gushing from his face. "The bloodied racegoer wiped his visage and then bloodied his cream trousers as he seemingly yelled at the man he had fought only moments before." King Charles' sweet frozen-in-time tribute to loved one who died decades ago
When one of King Charles's loved ones passed away over two decades ago, he was left totally bereft, experts have revealed in a new documentary - and he was so heartbroken he has kept several tributes to them in one of his royal homes King Charles has a seriously sentimental side - and this heartbreaking tribute to a lost loved one proves just how deep it runs. More than 20 years ago, Charles lost someone who had been incredibly important to him, and experts have revealed that to this day, he has kept a few key aspects of their belongings in his home in exactly the same place - as if they might walk back in the door any moment now. The revelation came in the new Channel 5 documentary, Birkhall: The King's Secret Sanctuary, which details the monarch's relationship with one of his absolutely favourite residences. Birkhall is positioned very near the Royal Family's famous Balmoral estate, where they gather every summer and spend weeks engaged in countryside pursuits like fishing and picnics, in the privacy afforded to them by the Scottish countryside. The nearby Birkhall is a much more modest home compared to the grandeur of Balmoral, and since his childhood, it is said by the experts to have been one of Charles's favourite places to spend time - in part because of who it previously belonged to, his beloved grandmother, the Queen Mother. "For Charles, she was this haven of security and affection, and laughter and love," explained former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond. The expert continued that during Charles's unhappy school years in the north of Scotland, his grandmother's home of Birkhall, and the warm relationship they shared, offered the young prince some welcome respite. "When he was at Gordonstoun school in the north of Scotland, he would, whenever he could, take the two-hour journey to Birkhall to be with his beloved granny." When the Queen Mother died in 2002 at her home of Royal Lodge, Windsor - at the ripe old age of 101 - the Scottish retreat of Birkhall went to Charles, who was left utterly bereft at the loss. "For Charles, the loss of his grandmother was absolutely devastating," explained Jennie, but after taking over the property, he started undertaking essential refurbishments, updating the heating systems, and redecorating much of the place with the help of his now-wife Camilla. However, Charles made sure that the Queen Mother's presence is still felt in the house, "Her coats are still hanging up, on the is really sweet," revealed expert Afua Hagan. This heartbreaking nod to his grandmother in his favourite home is not the only way he has paid tribute to the Queen Mother, the expert also revealed that he has kept the barometer she used to use to check the weather hanging up. The Queen Mother was also a huge fan of clocks, the experts revealed, and used to have eight in the dining room alone - all set to "slightly different times" so they would chime out of sync with one another. The Queen Mother's guests were said to have been sent round the bend by this - but this reaction was something the quirky royal "thoroughly enjoyed". Charles has kept her clocks hanging up, it is revealed in the documentary, "He kept all eight of those grandfather clocks in the dining room," Afua explained, "but he set them all to the same time, so it didn't drive everybody as bonkers as it had done before." A royal author has previously claimed that the Queen Mother was actually "more of a mother" to her grandson than the late Queen Elizabeth herself - putting this down to the former monarch's gruelling schedule as head of state. "In some ways, the Queen Mother was a mother figure to Charles just because the Queen became Queen when Charles was so young. There were a lot of tours of the Commonwealth and every time the Queen had to go away, Prince Charles stayed with the Queen Mother," Gareth Russell, who has written a biography of the Queen Mother explained to People magazine. "They had a great sense of humour, and she always encouraged him." Birkhall: The King's Secret Sanctuary, airs Saturday 21 June at 7.30pm on Channel 5.
